The easiest way to reach this NPC when you do not have water walking or anything like it, is the following. When you get to the small body of water south of Telaar, instead of swimming across it, take left and run up towards Grommashar. When you get to the wall of earth that stops you from continuing to run alongside the cliff above the water, you can see a ledge that you may think you are unable to reach, however, if you go a little to the left of that and run up the wall, you will be able to jump down on it. Continue along the side of the mountain and you will be able to jump straight down to where the path from the end of the small lake leads up to Maimclaw.

I've just found some funny "bug" with this training mount. Once you ride it, press your walk/run toggling key and run backward. Instead of slowing down, its running and animation speeds will increase and you will be running backward as fast as you run forward. Doing so will not slow you at all while riding the mount otherwise.

Talbuk Training: The Garn

Defeat Maimclaw while riding your Talbuk-In-Training.

Description

The last test for your mount will pit it against one of the great terrors of this land.

The garn. Wolves as black as night, and twice the size of a normal wolf, they can tear an orc apart in mere moments. The beasts here wisely fear them.

There is a lone garn that calls Nagrand its home. Take your talbuk, mount up, and bring it down. If the two of you survive, your talbuk will truly be ready for war.
