Use the quest item Emergency Rocket Pack to jumb and pass the barrier.
Use it again each time Witch Lord Morkurk cast his big spell. You even have a special text alert as a reminder you should use it.

As of beta, it may happen that Miall does not appear after you killed Morkurk, thus preventing you to hand back the quest. I attempted to run out the Gordal Fortress zone and come back a few moments after to reset the phasing, but it did not solve the issue. Finally, after three successive log out, Miall was there for me, right on top of the stairs where the barrier was.

If Miall does not appear, exit the plateau, and climb the mountain to your right. It will transfer you to Spires of Arak. Then go back to the plateau, and Miall will be there.

Also, if you wait too long, the Witch Lord Morkurk will respawn, but your rocket boots will be gone. Avoiding the damage can be done by hiding under a shield that an NPC may put up (not sure if he's always there to provide the shield).

I found after completing quest, Miall was not accepting my turn in. I ran down the stairs until she phased out and ran back. There she was, and I could turn in!

If you're unable to make it past the barrier to enter the area because you couldn't hand in your quest there are grappling hooks on either side to hoist you up onto the walls.

Enter your Wrynn Artillery Tower, and accept Going to the Gordunni from Miall, at coords 70.1, 20.2.

1. Going to the Gordunni - (Video) - Exit Fort Wrynn, through the western exit, and travel south to coords 60.0, 51.9 (see video if further questions).
• Follow the paved path to the south, and up the stairs at 62.7, 65.1, and continue southwest to coords 62.6, 67.8, where you will turn in the quest to Miall, accepting Dropping Bombs.

2. Dropping Bombs - (Video) - Travel up the dirt path and use your Smoke Grenade on the 3 catapults located approximately at coords:
• 63.6, 69.6
• 65.6, 68.9
• 66.8, 68.3

• Continue to follow the dirt path to the west to coords 69.0, 69.1 and click on the Grappling Hook and rope. This will bring you to the other side of the wall.
• Turn the quest in to Miall at coords 69.6, 69.8, accepting Supply Recovery, Prized Repossessions, and Punching Through.

Supply Recovery - Travel the path to the east, crossing a bridge, and continuing toward a set of stairs at 68.6, 79.0.
• Click on 6 Iron Horde Shipment (these appear as brown and grey boxes on the ground). Don't worry about getting all 6 prior to going up the stairs, as there will be many along this journey.

Prized Repossessions - Defeat Gordunni Ogres, in this area, and loot 6 Shattrath Guardian Mace from their corpses.

Punching Through - Travel up the stairs at coords 68.6, 79.0, and turn slightly left. Continue to a small building at 68.6, 82.5. Kill Vizier Vorgorsh inside.
• Leave the building and travel north to coords 67.1, 77.4 and defeat Vizier Zulmork, also located in a similar building.
• Exit the building and travel west to a small building at coords 66.2, 80.8 and defeat Vizier Cromaug inside.

NOTE: At this point, you must have completed Supply Recovery, Prized Repossessions, and Punching Through before you can proceed to the next step.

• Turn these quests in to Miall, who should be following you and accept The Lord of the Gordunni.

3. The Lord of the Gordunni - (Video) - Exit the building and travel up the sets of stairs located at coords 65.5, 80.1.
• Defeat Witch Lord Morkurk at the top, at coords 64.2, 81.8. If there is a barrier at the top of the stairs, signifying that he has already been engaged by another player, you can still attack him and be pulled inside (you don't need to "wait your turn").
• Use your Emergency Rocket Pack (in your inventory) when Witch Lord Morkurk begins to cast Astral Annihilation. This appears like blue and black smoke covering the entire platform.
• After he is defeated, turn in the quest to Miall (coords: 64.5, 81.8) and accept, The Only Way to Travel.

4. The Only Way to Travel - (Video) - You will be transported back to Fort Wrynn.
• Turn the quest in to Miall, in front of you, at coords 69.8, 20.8. This will also award you with the follower, Miall / Morketh Bladehowl.

This quest was bugged for me. The Emergency Rocket Pack button never appeared on my screen, so I had to eat all his big attacks. Managed to beat him, but I did die twice trying.

It's pretty insane to me how much hp this guy has now. At level 97 he had 3mil hp. Fight took me about 5+ minutes to finish.

I beat him any number of times with previous characters but in 7.3.5 with all his extra health, I couldn't come remotely close. Moving on to something else.

As of 5/22/2018 : I attempted to solo this quest on my Arms Warrior and had many deaths due to the mob being elite and having 2k ish hp. After many tries I had the successful idea to run circles around him until the NPC that gave the quest had gained aggro. After that I just stood aside and made sure that I was not in the way of any of the MOB's moves and used the quest item when required. It took a long time and once he was at about 25 percent HP, I began spamming executes and BAM quest was complete. It rewarded a follower and mine turned out to be epic! Happy hunting!

Description

Witch Lord Morkurk is the leader of the Gordunni. We need to kill him to secure the jovite for use in our artillery tower.

Morkurk is an accomplished mage so you better be prepared. Here, take the rocket pack and use it if you need to avoid any of his deadly magic.
