A temporary quest note explains that you can receive credit for this quest by crossing the bridge without entering the Dread Wastes. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but it hasn't worked for me.

And...if you cross into the Dread Wastes, you get ported to Wayward Landing.

There's going to be a massive amount of bodies on release day because of this quest. The elite in particular hits very hard, and the dot stacks, killing anyone very fast who isn't careful. My pet was getting killed in seconds, and he's a tank specced pet. Be very careful about aggroing any more then just 1 of the mobs there.

As a note for this quest: it uses a phased area where you kill the adds. This also is shared with other questers, so you can arrive anytime from when the mob waves hit to the elite going down. The timer between all the mobs dying and a fresh wave is fairly short, about 15-20 seconds.

During the event Lao-Chin will toss a barrel in the vicinity. On interacting with it you get a temporary buff increasing damage output by 200%. Also you may notice small green orbs in the vicinity. On running through them you are healed for a decent amount. These can really help those of us who don't have reliable and potent self healing as the elite can hit pretty hard.

stay at the edge of the bridge with Lao Chin, he will throw out brew. Click the barrels and increase your damage by 200%, this will help tremendously for the Hulking Kor'thik Fleshrender.

Be on your mount when you accept this quest. He took off without me! I couldn't mount up immediately because I was in combat with a bug.

60,84 is the bridge to Dread Wastes
44,9 is in Dread Wastes where you fight mobs until elite comes
Click on barrels to get your buff

Mages, make sure to Spell Steal Timberhusk from the mobs near the questgiver before heading across the bridge (do it to refresh the buff if you were doing it for the quest prior to this). It'll make the first parts of the quest a lot easier.

For those of you that didn't catch it... Blizzard has made this a reference to eastern culture.

If you guys have played Dynasty Warriors then you are aware of the faction "Shu"... The NPC "Lao-Chin the Iron Belly" is a reference to Zhang Fei ( Google him if you don't know him) who fends off the invading mantid army.
If you played story mode you would have realised the similarities.

Zhang fei single handedly held of the Wei invaders that were after the Shu forces.

This quest could be made much easier, if you've done Klaxxi quests prior to entering Townlong Steppes.
Particularly the very first buff - the Angel of Death cast on you by Kil'ruk the Wind-Reaver.

This quest is in a phased area in Dread Wastes, so if you go grab a mob from nearby with the Klaxxi buff Master of Puppets, and then run back, your dominated mob will be out of phase and will not be able to assist you in the fight.

This quest requires that you complete all the quest chains from the Gao-Ran Battlefront before the giver will appear, just in case anyone is wondering where the quest giver is.

To be more explicit since some of the older comments are rather oblique:

Mount up.
Pick up the quest.
Wait.
Stay with Lao-Chin as you cross the bridge into Dread Wastes.
Kill Kor'thik Bloodletter until Hulking Kor'thik Fleshrender appears. Kill the elite.
You can immediately fly back to Taran Zhu on the other side and turn in.

If you don't follow the directions and zoom ahead to the quest POI, all there'll be is Lao-Chin doing nothing and no mobs will spawn.
