Protip: attack a Krik'thik Scentlayer, then lure them into a set Shado-Pan Spike Trap for a 1 hit kill - thus getting Trap Setting & Breach in the Defenses very easily. Note that it seems to only kill one per trap.

Anyone else feel like a hypocrite doing this quest? In the wilds zone there's a quest to disarm IDENTICAL traps because "It's a dishonourable way to kill someone".

Simply find the small traps (look like spiky grey bombs) and click on them - a cogwheel should appear when you float your mouse over them. It worked this way for me - I didn't have to attack anything.

I have to admit, A few poor hedgehogs died to my blade when I mistook them at first glance for another trap and clicked them

Stand behind traps. The Spikey things . drop the shadow pan flare in front of you. Cast once and lead the scentlayers into trap.2 quests in one. Also scout weichin and ying are in area.
