When entering the Guo-Lai Halls, make note of the symbol at the bottom of the stairs. Many of the rooms in here have stones with various symbols on them and stepping on those with the same symbol will prevent you from taking damage from various sources.

Received this upon hitting Honored with Golden Lotus. Quest giver was Leven Dawnblade at the Golden Pagoda.

As of the launch of Mists, the quest (along with The Battle Ring daily) is bugged. You can get through the steps of the quest, but the person you turn it in to simply is not there. The only reason I was able to get these quests was due to obtaining Hozen Peace Pipe several times.

Hopefully the Dev team can jump on it quick before the masses start hitting honored. I speculate that I am one of the only people at honored this early into the expansion.

EDIT: After waiting for the daily reset, the quest ending NPC appeared at the hub and I was able to complete the quest.

Cross realm servers do work to turn in quest. As long as the server does not have the same dailies. Good Luck out there!

Ok, just wait till the next day, he will be there for turn in. It's a once only quest, don't drop it, just wait for dailies rest.

I had the same issue with him not appearing. I logged out in the spot where he should be, then logged back in. Upon logging in he was there (only waiting a few minutes;not the next day). I hope this helps. Good luck!

Enter the Guo-Lai Halls and make a left (You can now go left, before you reached this point the way was blocked).

He Softfoot will be waiting there for you. Talk to him and then follow him. He will be shadowmelded, but I was not.

The Statues along the way will crumble and fall, doing a large aoe damage to the ground. If you pay attention and stay close to He Softfoot you can avoid any damage.

When he arrives at the last room, a small dialog will start. He Softfoot will disapear. Do not panic, just continue into the room. Two elites will be on the platform, listen to the dialog. They will net-trap you. You will then be teleported out of the Halls and into a cell. He Softfoot will release you from the cell.

When you get to the last room, the Guo-Lai Vault, you need to approach the platform to start the script for the next part. Personally my squishy mage self was reluctant to walk up there, what with it being occupied by Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter, a dude with almost 14 million hp. But when I did, he yelled out and then the warrior statues progressively came to life to attack.

After a bit with the warrior statues, eventually a Jade Colossus appears and grabs He Softfoot. Just damage him til he drops He, then more mobs will show up and capture you with a net. You get put in a cage outside, from which He will come and rescue you. Quest complete.

The quest turn-in will show up on the map as being at The Golden Pagoda but if you go back down to the Setting Sun Garrison (where you took the quest), you can find Leven Dawnblade there to turn it in.

At the end of the encounter, right before you get transported to the cages:

Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter says: Throw these prisoners in the cages. Let the men have their way with them.

Does no one else find this as horrifyingly hilarious as I do?

I thought was 'honey, if you liked it you should have put a ring on it'

Considering you'll be level 90 for awhile, by the time you get to this quest, an ilevel 440 ring is pretty pathetic.

This is very easy quest,
Just enter the Guo-Lai Halls, go to the left and speak to He Softfoot.
You walk through the halls and you fight Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter, He is helping you. The elite starts to reanimate the stone guardians around, but they are really weak. You don't actually kill Zhao-Jin, he actually traps you and you end up locked in a cage, southwest of the Guo-Lai Halls. Lao Softfoot comes to free you from the cage and the quest is complete.

You would probably get Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Key from the mobs you kill when you go in, so you probably want to return to the halls and loot the Ancient Guo-Lai Cache.

Although you need to be honored with Golden Lotus to get this quest, so when you farm the rep, you should already have got better ring than those item level 440 ones, so if you vendor them, the reward is 36g 12s 53c from this quest.

I just did this and had the same issue with nothing happening.

Ran forward aggroed the guy with the swirly red stuff round him, he summoned statues around the room which you kill with He Softfoot.

He eventually gets grabbed by the colossus. Attack him. He Softfoot is released.

Some imperions come out and trap you and you complete quest

Something cool that I found doing this quest again on an alt is that you can mount up when you're in the cage and fly away. Don't have to wait for He to let you out. Not a big deal, but it does save you a few seconds.

You may have to jump right as your mount finishes casting for it to work.

I made the mistake of letting my pet (warlock wrathguard) attack Zhao-Jin, figuring I'd redirect him to the jade army once they awoke. After a few seconds, Zhao-Jin and He Softfoot despawned.I was worried that I'd have to drop the quest and way a day to try again. I left Guo-Lai Halls, returned and went back to the vault, and they were again in place. This time I dotted up Zhao-Jin and things proceeded as normal.

TLDR: Don't let your pet do all the work on the elite. It screws up the script.

Worked fine for me. Killed a bunch of the sissy statues, then the Jade Statue grabbed my NPC buddy. I wailed on the Jade Statue for a bit, did some damage, then the boss dude said to put us in a cage and let the troops have their way with us (which sounded a tad fishy to me), next thing I know I'm in a cage outside, I get the completion message, and the NPC comes and opens my cage and points back to the east (the Golden Pagoda). And I turn it in...

If for any reason, the start/end quest npc (Leven) disappears from where he was, check the other 2 spots he can be. There are 3 links at the top of this page for Leven, so check them for his possible locations.

For me it was that I had to abandon this quest, but I had already picked up "Setting Sun Garrison" , so he wasn't where I originally found him. He was, however, waiting at the Garrison with this quest available.

The Secrets of Guo-Lai

Meet with He Softfoot in the Guo-Lai Halls and uncover the mogu's purpose in the western chamber.

Description

I just received information from a guard stationed near the Ruins of Guo-Lai that the Shado-Tien leader entered the halls, killing two of my men in the process. They're intent on something inside. We need to stop them.

He Softfoot has already followed them in. He should be waiting for you at the entrance to the western chambers.

Move quickly, <name>. I don't like the thought that the mogu may be a step ahead of us.
