Yes, Shado-pan questline have such weird prequests :D
Awakened quests have 3 version of quests each starting from NPC that gave you previous quests.
Ordo Warbringer have quest that starts via pop-up after Channelers and backup from Taylor/Nazgrim if you abandon first.

For this quest you need to kill the Terracotta statues located south of Moguija. They have two "cycles". They are frozen, passive mobs, but if a Mogu uses it magic on it (look at the shadow bolts coming from the top of the mountain) they will become hostile mobs, and they will deal 200% damage.
I recommend doing this quest with Profiting off of the Past.
Also, be on lookout for Terracotta Head to get free 100g

Keep an eye out for which ones are statues, and which ones aren't. Look out for the effect that indicates which ones are gonna stop being statues.

Mages: You can polymorph them, even as statues for STONE SHEEP! :D. But seriously - if one of them becomes reanimated unexpectedly, it's a good idea to sheep it until you can deal with it. Assuming the polymorph isn't broken, it'll eventually turn back to stone.

You should attack the ones that have become alive already, if you attack frozen statues and kill them before they are re-animated, the kills dont count.

If one you are attacking turns back to stone, bring it's health close to 0 and then switch to another statue beside it until the first one comes back to life, then kill it easy and get points for it.

Fortunately, Torquezzz was mistaken, they do not have to be killed while animated... simply jog around attacking those that have recently turned back to stone (this way you'll have the most time to kill them before they reanimate) and avoid the live ones. I killed 75% of mine while in stone form. Live ones do significant damage if you are in quest gear and at level (87, 88).

Go talk to Bao Jain just outside the ruins before starting this quest, he has a drop/loot quest for these guys. Save your self a few minutes running back in to grab his quest items :)

If you get to the quest area and find that the statues do not move at all, you cannot target any of them, and there are Blood Elves walking around everywhere, it only means that you are in a different phase of the zone due to having picked up the quests, "The Source of Korune Power" and/or "Bad Blood." Simply complete those two quests and turn them in. Travel back to Westwind Rest or wherever, come back, and you ought to be properly phased to complete "Deanimate the Reanimated" and "Mogu! Oh No-gu!"

If you see a bunch of blood elves in the quest area, instead of the expected mogu statues, you're probably in the middle of the Landfall campaign questline, and need to finish the quests on that first to switch the quest mobs in the area back for this quest.

The pandaren in the camp here have told me that something is animating the statues to the northeast at Mogujia.
