Actually, the spawned mob is scaled to the level of your character. As a level 19, I had a level 18 mob spawn.

Worth noting that one elemental - level appropriate - will spawn per player waiting, will initially aggro on you, and is 'auto tagged'. This means there's no need to fight others for spawns.

Go down into the catacombs (to the point marked on your map).
Wait for the NPC to go through their dialogue.
Kill the voidwalker that spawns (its level will be scaled to match yours - be careful with AoE if you're only a little tacker).
Hand in your completed quest.

Careful not to use any AoE here... I went down on my 85 Priest while a level 53 lock was there and he aggroed my lvl 85 spawn and got owned :-)

So if you not max level, just wait till your spawn targets you and use single attacks on it. They easy to kill

If you follow someone down to the crypt and they get the void spawn first, you have to run up the ramp and re-enter the room to get your own void spawn. I sat and waited for a few minutes after following a shadow priest down, and the void only spawned for me once I ran back up the ramp.

If you arrive just as another person's voidwalker is dying, the event can get stuck and not start. If you run out of the catacombs, log out and back in, then run back into the catacombs, your event will play out normally.

This fixed the problem for me.

I happened to be on this quest Cataclysm in the Catacombs while trying to complete The Collector's Agent. This caused the catacombs to be filled with cultists and also would not allow the void spawn to spawn in order to complte. Not having many options I completed Cataclysm in the Catacombs and A Villain Unmasked which shifted the phasing allowing me to complete the quest.

TL;DR Phasing from the twilight highlands opening quest chain prevented me from completing The Collector's Agent. Solution: Finish the twilight highlights quest chain.

Fun fact: the quest chain that begins with Twilight Investigation makes the whole cathedral, including the catacombs, phased - no one will be in the cathedral and different mobs will be in the catacombs. You might easily miss that if you didn't level your toon in Twilight Highlands, so make sure to finish it first

If you arrive to the destination just after another player has completed the quest, it will bug out and not do anything. Head back some distance then return to the area and it should re-trigger the sequence of events. This has happened to me once.

If you have bug, go upstairs and do /reload aoi then it's ok.

Enter the cathedral of light and walk past the first room on the right where the first aid and paladin trainers are. At the next bend on the right, you'll find a ramp down, that's the one you take and keep going down all the way.

Stand there for a few moments and it will spawn a void that is your level minus 1. Kill it, then complete the quest at the book.

Just want to let everyone know...I tried this quest today and killed the mob immediately after he spawned, and nothing happened to the crate. It appears that you have to wait to kill the mob until after Sanath Lim-yo disappears.

You might want to dismiss your pet here. The void stalker got killed by my pet alone, the quest did not complete. I had to go all the way out and back in and made sure I was the one getting the kill to complete the quest.

As a note, using blink on your way down the final stairs/ramp into the room where you kill the mob apparently causes it to bug and not spawn (I was the only player in the catacombs, so that wasn't the cause). Running back out of the catacombs and doing a /console reloadui caused it to spawn properly when I went back down there.

I am having a problem with the voidwalker spawning. I was the only one there. I tried several times, running out and causing the toon to respawn, but no voidwalker. I have a level 90 mage. I dismissed my elemental before I entered.
The Black Bishop would just stand there until I approached him and then he would attack. I tried just letting him hit me until the voidwalker spawned, but nothing happened.
Does anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

You need to enter the Cathedral in Stormwinds Cathedral Square, go to far back right and there you'll find entry to the catacombs

Description

According to Quincy, the "collector" who wants the crate is none other than the insane Archmage Xylem of Azshara.

The archmage's faithful servant is to meet with the man who has the crate in the catacombs beneath the Cathedral of Light.

You must get there in time to intercept the exchange and retrieve the crate before it is lost to Xylem forever. When you have the crate, meet me at the Golden Keg.
