One way is to head south to Booty Bay and take the boat to Ratchet.

I think there was supposed to be a boat going to Northwatch, but it go cut out, or something :/
The NPC ending this quest is a *dockmaster*, he asks you if you're "fresh off the boat", and the directions in the quest description that tell you to "traveling south along the coast" are just plain stupid.

Easy quest, just jump in the water at Ratchet and swim south following the shoreline to get to the dock at the manor, Mobs in the water are only level 15 or 16 makura. Don't forget to get the FP at ratchet like I did. You can also get the FP at the manor.

I got there by porting to Theramore and riding north. Though the mass of lvl 35-37 undead and murlocs very nearly ate my lvl 32 mage alive. I did manage to get there by popping Darkflight and hitting Blink on every cooldown.

Was at about half health, but I made it. Though my Water Elemental... gave his life so that I might survive... *sniff*

If you are looking for this quest and do not have it for some reason, try just going there and try continuing with this quest Survey the Destruction.

I had all zones done except for Southern Barrens and Dustwallow Marsh. After hours of searching to get the quest and a GM ticket, I was able to pick up the above quest and continue the chain and still get the Southern Barrens Quests Achievement.

I ported to Theramore Isle, then took a flight from there to Ratchet (you get the FP to Ratchet now automatically, so you will have it) then traveled south to Northwatch along the shore.

I flew from SW to Booty Bay (Cape of Stranglethorn) got the boat to Ratchet then flew to Northwatch Hold, where you need to be :)

There's actually a flight path from rachet, directly to Northwatch Hold.

I just took boat from Stormwind to Ruitheran village and a flight to Northwatch hold; ran down the hill to the dock and there he was. Spot on. :D

As of 5.2 you no longer automatically get the Northwatch flight path.

The ride down the alliance held beach is easy.

The inlet between the zones is held by level 31 horde. Fighting your way through is probably faster in my opinion than trying to swim around.

It was actually really easy to get to Northwatch Hold from Ratchet (I was expecting it to be really difficult based on these comments). All I did was travel south on the path in front of the Ratchet Inn, then jump in the water by the Horde camp (where Northern Barrens meets Southern Barrens). I crossed in front of the Horde boats (which don't move), and boom, I was at Northwatch Hold. It took less than 3 minutes to get there.

As of 5.3 if you're alliance playing in EK, take boat from Booty Bay to Ratchet. Ride along the coast until you reach the Horde camp. As previously stated they are lvl 31 which should not be difficult at lvl 30. Note: shortly after arriving at Northwatch, you will have to return and battle these same mobs again....

As an alliance, lvl 30 worgen warlock, I can confirm that picking up Hero's Call: Southern Barrens which leads to Report to Aubrey is not mutually exclusive with Survey the Destruction which leads to The Admiral Won't Back Down. I did both and it worked just fine. Just remember to not accept the quest from Admiral Aubrey, and it should be fine. This was tested as of patch 7.0.3.

I have to stay corrected.

today i found out that you have 3 breadcrumb quests, including 2 Hero's Calls, that lead you to Soutern Barrens.

You have to keep the order to be able to do all 3:

1.Hero's Call: Southern Barrens! (this one only appears in the adventurers guide, once you hit lvl 25)

2.Hero's Call: Southern Barrens! (this one can be found on every Hero's Call Board, as long as you are lvl 25-60)

3.All's Clear (this quest only appears once you quested through stonetalon mountains and completed Dances with Grimtotem)

Don't accept any further quest in Southern Barrens, to be able to do all breadcrumbs.

These days it's best to have these two toys Scouting Map: Surviving Kalimdor and Scouting Map: Modern Provisioning of the Eastern Kingdoms. With them just fly to a harbor, take a boat and fly there.

This quest is only available from the Hero's Call Board.
There is another version of this quest, Hero's Call: Southern Barrens!, which is only available from the Adventure Guide.
You can only have one of them in your quest log at a time. However if you complete one, someone can subsequently share the other one with you.

Report to Dockmaster Lewis at the docks outside Northwatch Hold in the Southern Barrens.

Description

By order of his royal highness, King Anduin Wrynn, all able-bodied citizens of the Alliance are to report to Dockmaster Lewis near Northwatch Hold.

Our brave soldiers have made tremendous gains in the Barrens, but they have paid a heavy price! Your efforts are needed to consolidate our gains. You can reach the docks outside Northwatch Hold by taking a boat from Booty Bay to Ratchet and traveling south along the coast.
