This quest is actually a brilliant pun lost on most players.

In ancient Egyptian culture, there was a ritual known to us today as "smiting", in which the Pharaoh was depicted literally smiting - smacking with a mace - individuals who were despised by the kingdom.

This is, at least in my opinion, a perfect daily quest. It's simple, fun, fast, and to be redundant, completely enjoyable. Sure, not every daily is going to be like this, but when I rev up ze ol' WoW client to finish up some dailies, I look forward to doing this gem.

The awesomeness of this quest is further amplified by the fact that it's juxtaposed with the Tol Barad dailies.

You don't have to target the mobs for this quest. Just get close to them and use the mallet.

The pygmies for this are just over the wall from Teneth, precariously stacked on each others' shoulders. Just look under the date palms to see teetering stacks of these brown midgets. Takes under a minute to complete running around spamming the mallet, easy complete for gold and modest Ramkahen rep gain.

This quest is pure epic fun. Hats off to the voice actor who provided such enjoyable ooga booga sounds. I'm sure that must have been a fun day at the recording studio for all involved. "So, honey, what did you do today?" "I went Ahooga booga wooga wooga!" :P

I love this quest, I'll be coming to Uldum everyday, even if I didn't need the stupid rep. The other daily needs you to do the Harrison Jones questline to open up.

Does anyone else's character swing the hammer sideways? I.e. hitting them with the round side of the mallet instead of the flat?

This quest has a strange quirk for hunters right now. If you use Misdirection to your pet, you get credit for 6 kills for each stack of pygmies instead of 3.

Doesn't really save any time, but it can make it a little faster.

I've done this quest countless times across leveling 4 toons to the level cap. However, leveling my priest, I did this quest, and I noticed that the pygmies aren't going flying anymore, and are instead falling where they stand. Is this just me, and if it's not, is it working as intended? Because they just ruined an absoluely hilarious quest if they changed it to what it is now.

This quest now grants credit for six kills per successful mallet-swing, up from the original three. Not sure why they chose to make an already easy quest even easier, but there you go. Still a delightful 7+ gold and 165 Ramkahen rep.

Likely not intended but Combat Rogue's Blade Flurry stacks with the usage of the hammer.

i.e. Slamming 3 pluckers with one slam yield 6 "kills" as each slam procs on another "nearby creature", totalling twice on each of the 3 pluckers.

I'm still confused why we have this blessed hammer of power...and were using it to kill Pygmies. We could use this to end all evil in Azeroth, and yet we use it to kill Pygmies...

This is actually a very obscure video game reference.
Back in the N64 days, the 3rd Clayfighter game came out.
There was a special edition of it, called Clayfighter 63 1/3: Sculptor's edition
That edition added a character called the Zappa Yow Yow Boys; a stack of 3 Pygmies.
