It may go without saying, but make sure you pull Animus back away from the pit before you kill him, otherwise his body will fall into a spot where you cannot loot him.

So, not the most pleasant things to know... That you handed over something so destructive and powerful to some witch that is an 88 Elite with 103 Million health, whom then threatens to kill you next time you meet.....

Why. The hell. Do we give this item to her? Especially as a Horde player. She effectively caused the death of one of the most beloved Horde leaders ever. That's common knowledge at this point. I understand needing her help to rid the zone of the Animus threat, but there's absolutely no reason to give her the stone at the end of it all.

I hope they explain this plot-hole. It certainly ended an awesome questing experience on a "wtf" note for me.

So apparently we give over 3 powerful tauren artifacts and a dark evil powerful weapon called the "Doomstone" to an evil tauren witch that murdered Cairne Bloodhoof and countless tauren in Thunder Bluff, and ya know...probably plans on destroying and reeking havoc on the world...

Of course, they could have added an option for you to refuse. But then Magatha would probably kill you and take it anyways.

I hope she shows up as a dungeon/raid boss at some point so people can avenge Cairne by brutalizing her again and again.

Why is the Animus an "invalid target"? I noticed this before I got the doomstone quest, but even after I got it the same thing happened. No matter how close I am or what move I try, it's no use. Anyone else have this problem or have any advice?

Why is everyone sweating about giving the Doomstone to Martha Grimtotem - just don't give her it.

In the spirit of the game I went up and 'showed her it' but I don't need the reward money, I don't chase reputation (not that much anyway) and I feel sooo good knowing it is in my bank account lol.

Just wanted to mention, if you don't want to help the evil hag, you can skip this quest and go talk to Pozzik on the Speedbarge. He will give you Tanaris is Calling, (which, oddly enough, sends you to Tanaris lol), without completing this quest. I completed TN Quest and Explore achieve without doing this quest.
I also like Rosafrost's suggest to taunt the hag with the Doomstone but keep it for yourself :)

So, this showed back up. Apparently Magatha didn't realize a powerful artifact would be a magnet to the burning legion. She's a fool. For now it shall rest at the Earthen Ring Shrine at the Maelstrom protected by the elemental lords of Azeroth.

As for what comes next? We'll see. I will update when more information is available. Magatha should just concider herself lucky I'm letting her live. I do feel safer with it in my possession.

Try to pull it down onto one of those rock ramps as if you kill it in the center without flying it's tough to get the loot. I had to kill it again, but down on one of those ramps.

As of 9.0.1, some part of this appears to be bugged out.

Using the Elemental Nullifier on Animus has no effect and the barrier never drops off of Animus that allows it to be killed. (Tested on Highmountain Shaman, Level 27)

This quest is bugged, I can't use the nullifier to drop the protective shield and it is the last quest to complete loremaster, rip.

Anyone encountered this and found a way round it?

I had a small issue with this quest.
The nullifier works fine, but trying to loot the doomstone from Animus was the problem.
Trying to click to loot as usual didn't work, it would keep tryng to use the nullifier on its corpse.
I had to use the 'interact key' to loot it, or just loot some other nearby mob.

Description

At the core of Animus is an artifact known as the Doomstone. One of its properties is an ability to absorb a great deal of energy.

This is how the cultists are trying to set off the explosion... by overloading the stone and amplifying the power through the elemental.

Bring me the Doomstone. For safe keeping, of course.
