Gobbles, the level 83 turkey is a reference to Joesph Goebbels, the Reich Minister of Propaganda under Hitler in WWII. Oh blizzard, you love your nazi humor.

Very important, if you happen to abandon this quest, you may get bugged, you will not be able to see NPCs, Mobs, Players and etc.

To fix it, you simply have to kill yourself, if it does't work, keep trying, or go to a Instance, such as Zul'Farrak.

The English word, "nine", meaning (9), is a homophone of the German word, "nein", meaning "no".

"Gobbels" is clearly a reference to Joesph Goebbels, a prominent member of the inner circle of "Der Fuhrer".

The quest is a reference to it, however the turkey was a reference to Timmy from south parks favorite turkey, Gobbles!

Apart from the fact that gobbles is a phrase commonly associated with Turkeys. You'll find that South Park rarely comes up with their own jokes; they are usually referring to something else younger and dumber audiences have not seen.

And for the record, I am APPALLED at the sleight-handed reference to genocide. Killing slave laborers after cooking Goebbels? For shame.

From the beginning of his tenure, Goebbels organized attacks on German Jews. His attacks on the Jewish population culminated in the Kristallnacht assault of 1938, in which scores of synagogues were burned and hundreds of Jews were assaulted and murdered.

I also believe (seeing as how we got here from Indiana Jones) that it is a slight reference to the game "Indiana Jones ant the fate of Atlantis". At the end, a crazy scientist asks you how many orichalum beads he has to use for his "transformation" into a living god. Needless to say, you have to give the wrong number, and he gets transformed into something unpleasant. Which is indeed not the tranformation he had hoped for. Which is the end text of this quest. But don't get me wrong, all the other references are quite valid too

Okay this is weird.. I've completed all of the quests in the chain prior to this one, and Commander Schnottz isn't offering any other quests (including this one). What gives? How do I get this quest?

I'm able to speak to him, but all he says is "So, zhis is zhe night elf druid I've heard so much about, hmm? As you know, zhere is vone obelisk zhat has yet to be activated... Vhen zhe time comes to restore zhis ancient mechanism, vill you be zhere? Vill history remember you? Zhat depends on your villingness to cooperate!"

I would like to submit that you did not, in fact, tell me how many idols to retrieve. You said "several". In addition, you checked your notes prior to the ritual. If this is anyone's fault, it is your own for failing to be explicit in your commands and careful in your magic.

So what I don't see posted in this topic chain, is the fact that, you must do "the furrier" quest and "fashionism" before "gobbles" will become available, then you can proceed to the rest of the chain. :o)

God.. all this effort just to do 4 lousy quests in one dungeon.

As of 8.0.1 this quest is bugged, Schnottz doesn't spawn the circle of summoning and just stands there.
