Unlike the BC and WotLK, you need to be at level 80 for Cata start. Not a 78.

Lady La-La's Necklace have 0% drop chance beforeOphidophobia done and 100% after, however anyone can share you this quest as long as you are 80+lvl.
Anyone can takeVengeful Heart and do it's followups as long as they are 80+lvl. Quests above are NOT needed for it.

Around this time, kill Gilblin Collectors and hope
Lady La-La's necklace drops for Lady La-La's Medallion. There are conflicting reports of what quests are needed for the item to drop.
This is also a good time to kill Gilblingle for waterlogged journal which starts Blackfin's Booty.

Until you complete this quest and ride the boat to Vashj'ir, the boat to Borean Tundra won't appear.

The Hero´s Call Board offers this quest only until you reach level 83. If you want to do Vash'jir quest line after that point, you need to talk directly with Recruiter Burns in Stormwind harbour. He will give you Call of Duty quest which allows you to board ship to Vash'jir.

-PHASES STORMWIND HARBOR.-

Accepting this quest (Or perhaps after you turn it in to Recruiter Burns in the Harbor), Stormwind Harbor will be phased, and some boats won't come. Either board the merc boat as he instructs (sometimes it can take a few "go-rounds" with the NPCs talking and saying the same things over and over and disappearing, etc) or abandon the quest to get back to "Normal" Stormwind Harbor.

if for any reason the portal to Vashir is not working and you have completed the first "hero's call" quest, make sure you check the follow ups. For me the portal was up but I could not click it (nothing happened) and the Hero's Call quest was not available on the board. I found later that I hadn't completed the whole chain to get there, so had to complete one or two more and voila, the portal is now working!

Example of code to check if you have completed the quest:

Hero's Call: Vashj'ir! and To the Depths are mutually exclusive, but both marked as completed after completing one of them

My 9yr old son just showed me that if you are high level and can't see the Vashj'ir quest on the Hero's Call Board, start accepting the quests you can see until the Vashj'ir quest is visible. Then once you have it, you can abandon the others.

Something to note if you're wanting to do this zone either on your own or with a friend is you need to be level 30 for the quest to even appear which is a shame given how fast you can zip in levels. This was something I never really thought to look at as since the squish I've been leveling in places that used to be 80-90 lol.

If you are lvl 60, and the Hero's Board does not offer this quest, fly to Recruiter Barns /way 27.4, 24.2

He will offer you Call of Duty, which takes you to Vashj'ir.
