Demon is a lvl 40 (Elite) I took him at lvl 40 however, with frost nova mana shield and evocation. Run mana shield all the time when mana gets low frost nova back up and run evocation as long as you can.

Can be soloed as a lvl 38 frost specced mage. Took bandage, health pot, mana gem (which ever one it was at that level), and a lot of mana shielding. :)

I took him at 38 fire speced..i ran alotkept him back with nova and blastwave then would fireball/scorch ect ect

Yep, it's a 40 Elite and I solo'ed at 38. I'm not even a good frost spec, I'm actually aimed towards AoE grinding. As Itaru said, just frost nova and evocation can finish him off, timed with blink while he's slowed, in between instants like fire blast and CoC. 1 mana gem used, Didn't even use a potion, I was very pleased.

But as I was celebrating it goes "The Exorcism failed." and I was like omfg all over the place : (

Moral = TURN THE QUEST IN FAST

I type this as I am waiting for cooldowns to finish so I can do it again. -.-

Just done it again, and it is really quite easy. No mana gem this time, or ice block or cold snap or bandage or dynamite Nor do I have uber gear.

38 mages go ahead.

Also, yay I levelled from this.

Not too bad. Solo as 39 Frost Spec. Only had to use one Mana Gem, but I did get somewhat lucky with Frostbite and crits. Just know that you only have 3 minutes to kill him and turn in the quest, so don't waste time dancing once he's dead. ;)

Soloed it by 37 lvl frost mage. Main problem was time - quest was failed twice before i did it. Raptor, near house also makes this quest is not too easy.
You have 3 minutes to kill demon and to return quest. When demon is summoned, you have about 2:40 minutes to kill him. No loot.
Quest leads to next chain in Uldaman.

as a 40 fire spec mage i took him on my first try.make sure you have health pots with you it will help out alot. Frost trap was my best friend in this fight for sure along with bandages. i would say make sure that you kill the raptor in the back of the house first like i did so you have no other targets around.
when i was done fighting i have about 45 seconds to turn in quest.

managed to solo it at 36 with fire spec. it took a few tries (about 6), but I eventually defeated him rather soundly. for me, this was the key:

frost nova + blazing speed + blink = enough time for full evocation and partial bandage, thus saving hp potion for when you're trying to get out of melee range next time.

killed him with 11 seconds left on the timer. DON'T waste time once he's dead, b/c you can still fail if you don't turn in before timer is up. also, make sure you clear the trash mobs before you start the fight so you have room to run before hitting evocation. gl

Solo'd as a lvl 36 Fire spec mage, 1st try no pots, no bandages, or Cool downs. He's pretty easy.

im not tryin to be cocky or anything but i soloed as a 40 fire mage and that was the easiest elite i have ever killed. i guess im lucky he didnt resist anything but that took me about 20 seconds to kill and i took 0 damage. not that any of you that have posted will come back and read this anyway.

This "elite" is very easy for 38lvl mage. I was frost specc and didn't have any problems to kill this guy. Only cooldowns needed to use were CoC and Frost Nova. You doesn't need any potions, bandages or even Evocation to kill this guy.

As frostmage, this is by NO means whatsoever a hard quest.
I did it easily with my level 37 frostmage, with the only cooldown i used being Cold snap - which i actually believe was not nescessary.
Just frostbolt it when it spawn and keep kiting on 1-2 frostboltst while its slowed down. The frostnova, run away and do the same procedure over again. If you're lucky you'll of course get some frostbites and therefore some crits aswell.
In addition, i didnt use any consumeables at all - not even mana gem.

So go for it! ;-)

Just did this as a frostmage lvl 37 (151+ spell dmg) and it was easypie. Didn't use any consumeables or evocation, just 2frostbolts, nova, run away 2 frostbolts and a CoC blink away (or through him as i did, cause i wasn't looking for adds) run a bit 1 frostbolt and then nova is off CD, and just start over.

So no need for a friend or to be scared, just do the quest i didn't even recieve 1 resist which makes it alot easier.

Did this quest yesterday with my 37 fire mage. Didnt use any heal pots, just mana agate.

I did this as a fire specced mage. I dinged 40 on the turn in for the orb, so I had combustion up when I started. Very easy for fire mages at 40+, just stay back, let Tabetha walk to the graveyard and let her summon it. It will stand there, confused, letting you get a nice pyro/ fireball/scorch/ fireblast/ blast wave combo off quickly, and with combustion, they'll likely all be crits as mine were. For me this equaled more than half his health gone as he got to me. From here just blink away, get a nice fireball off and frost nova. You know what to do now.

I soloed as a 35 fire spec. Was exstreamly lucky with crits and stuns. I was like a rogue with stun lock. Dought i could do it again but still it was cool.

As a lv38 frost mage, it is quite easy: simply frostbolt-> nova-> bolt-> blink-> bolt-> nova-> down.

Soloed as a 37 frost mage. Simple process.

Frost bolt - frost bolt - nova - frost bolt - frost bolt - blink - Rank 1 frost bolt kite till frost bite proc or till nova is done cooling down.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Same thing can be done by a fire mage, just no frost bite to make it a little easier.

Soloed it as 37 frost mage on my second try. After accepting run ahead of her and position yourself by the tree a little north of the graveyard, you wont aggro the demon, and you wil be close enough to frostbolt. FB spam to keep him chilled as he runs a bit faster than most mobs. frost nova when possible. Mana Agates are useful, use it.
mages are good CC, learn to use the abilities :)

As of 8/11/08 there is a big glitch. I have tried this quest 3 times and each time I have tried to complete it I have gotten DC'd. Have a ticket open in WOW but i would suggest not trying this quest until a later date.

Yea, as i guessed... game freezed two times. I disabled questhelper, and did the quest with no problems.

Maybe just a case, but once a friend, that doesn't had questhelper installed, started the quests, and failed. When he tryed to accept the quest again, the timer was still on. And he had the game frozen. Relogged, abandoned the quest, tryed it a third time and finally he did it without problem.

Soloed as a 40 fire mage. Did it pretty easily: Pyroblast, fireball, frost nova, scorch, scorch, fire blast, blast wave, blink, fireball and he was down.

am I first one commenting how I beat him solo as arcane?
Yes, 27/0/0 spec, level 36. I died 3 times at start and got bit frustrated since didnt got him more than to 30% and figured if I just nuke since Arcane Stability 5/5 keeps missles uninterrupted and Id have chance since he resisred a lot, no point really try kite around.

So.. Used buff food (+8sta), major healing pot, evocation, gem.. all I could and twice bandage. Cone of Cold was big key thing as he strangely didnt resist the slowing effect of that.

Went something like this: Frostbolt-Pom frostbolt-fb-nova-blink.. meh, no point write, I was very lucky to manage do it since he resisted over 50%.
(+5y am & nova glyphs.. not that those were any help really)

Very easy solo as a 39 Frost mage with a few blues. Took a total of two Blizzards to down him with a frost nova to keep him in place.

Soloed at lvl36 as Fire Mage - mob was lvl40 elite and had aprox 5k health - just went on casting Pyroblast while keeping Mana Shield up - Forst Nova once, Blink away, Evocation - and again - it died before the cooldown on Frost Nova ended.

Learn from my experience: don't bother to try this alone as a 35 Frost Mage. Frost Nova will miss way too many times for you to possibly stay alive.

Easy solo as a level 38 fire spec. Only buffs were Arcane Intellect, Ice Armor, Mana Shield, Rumsey Rum Black Label.

My crit rating is hovering around 15% for fire spells.

Pyroblast, Fireball, Frost Nova (backed off), Fireball, Fireball, Fireball.

Dead.

Took zero damage as Mana Shield absorbed the only shot he was able to take on me. Had 1:50 remaining to hand it in.

The Exorcism

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

Kill the Demon of the Orb, then speak with Tabetha.

Description

Now that we have a summoner's orb, we must exorcise the demon within it. I can do that. That's the easy part.

You're the one who has the hard job. You're the one who has to kill the demon once it's out.

And you'll have to be quick. If you take too long then he'll jump back in the orb and we'll have to start over!

So get yourself ready. Prepare your strongest spells and keep your potions handy, and go get a friend if you have one. Because this isn't going to be pretty.
