Make sure it's Enraged Kodo, because theres alot of Recovering Kodo around.

The Kodos you'll be looking for are Enraged Kodo, NOT Recovering Kodo! The enraged ones are elite, make sure you get close to them but not within aggro range. Then right-click the Soothing Broth, this will put the broth at your feet. Then the Enraged Kodo will come towards you, eat the broth, and then turn into Pacified Kodo. After a few seconds it will become enraged again and disappear.

I did this on my Worgen Hunter (set pet to passive just in case). I have no idea if the broth works after you aggro the kodo, so maybe that is still something to investigate :)

I think this quest is bugged. The kodo never enrage and all they do is wander around. I've been here for over an hour now and not a single enraged kodo has appeared.

PL on quests is really awful. Maybe I want to pick the one that sells for the most? I miss the days where I COULD PICK MY REWARD, blizz!

If you can't find any Enraged Kodo in the designated area, try leaving Desolace by hippogriff and returning, then immediately riding to the quest area. This probably won't work unless you are the only player in the zone, but lately that hasn't been a problem.

I did not have any of the problems users reported regarding Enraged Kodo spawning in the wrong place, but I can confirm that only one appears to spawn at a time, and also that the code Blizzard used to achieve this seems to be unstable -- sometimes Enraged Kodo simply stop spawning, even in the middle of trying to complete the quest.

I completed every quest in Desolace except this one, and was beating my head against it for hours, coming back from elsewhere in Desolace repeatedly and never getting a single Enraged Kodo spawn. I finally gave up and left Desolace. When I came back to the zone the next day, an Enraged Kodo spawned immediately. I calmed three of them and then they stopped spawning again, for no apparent reason.

I immediately took the flight path north to Sun Rock Retreat in Stonetalon Mountains, and came right back to find another Enraged Kodo waiting for me. In most cases, this is probably the fastest way to complete this quest -- just keep leaving and coming back until you get the kodo you need. Good luck!

I've just done this quest in BFA. I spent ages looking for an enraged one, to find that you can only have one active at a time before another spawns. I eventually found one south of the Kodo Graveyard and after killing it they then began to spawn in the correct area. I hope this helps!

Kill recovering kodos to make enraged ones spawn to finish the quest. Takes 10-20s before they start spawning.

Yup still as of 8.1.5 they still haven't fixed this bug. (Enraged kodos not spawning until you lead an unholy genocide against every single recovering kodo)

edit: found my enraged kodo on the border of Shok'Thokar bugged out. killing it respawns them thats is the only way to do it and only ONE will spawn at a time afterwards.

Don't forget Blizzard "quality" lmao

as of 12/15/19 - STILL frustrating and bugged. I can find oodles of enraged kodo over the hill ..but the stew wont work there...tried aggroing them and dragging over..they wouldnt go that far. Tried killing all in the *area* -repeatedly ...no ragers. Tried flying out of desolace ..still nada. I came for the mog - i REALLY want it . I've been here 45 mins messing with it. Gonna try logging out next.

Quest worked just fine for me on both my hunter and paladin. Went right outside the village where the kodos were and the enraged ones were abundant, finished in 2 minutes.

I was ticked off that the quest giver only gave my hunter the option of a mail waist as the quest reward. It appears you have to complete this quest as warrior or paladin to be able to get the sword.

Still not completable as of 9.1 unless you to kill recovering kodos or wait for respawns (only found 3 enraged in the whole area) . Very sloppy design, reminds me of Classic WoW shenanigans

Edit: To be clear, I didn't kill a single kodo, I just used the item on 3 enraged and then waited for two more to respawn (took a few minutes).

As of Shadowlands, this quest is still bugged. I fixed it by swapping server shards (turning War mode on/off, depending on what you had it on originally, which mine was off). After I came back, I found four within a minute and a fifth after killing a few Recovering Kodo.

What an awful quest!
Took me about 30 minutes to complete and almost a full level of xp killing the kodos to reset them and hope I would get an enraged one.

I found enraged kodos in the grey area a stonetoss directly south from the hut below the outlined quest area.
I had to taunt it and run to the correct area and keep taunting so it didn't reset.
This way i could take it to the quest area and use quest item.
After 3 times all of a sudden lots of enraged kodos spawned in the correct quest area as outlined in-game.

I got them to start spawning by killing a Enraged Kodo that I found south of where they are supposed to spawn. Spawned right below the pond under Cenarion Wildlands on the map.

The respawning problem of this quest seems to have been fixed. Or the problem isn't as bad as what others said. I was able to finish it by just waiting 5 minutes for kodo's to respawn. Or perhaps I am just lucky? I remember having a problem with this quest with slow respawns previously.

As mentioned before, Killing the enraged kodo outside of the area will make them spawn instantly in the correct area.

I don't know if it's coincidence but they started showing up back to back right after I landed on ground and walking around. There weren't any while I was flying over the area to spot them. Probably just coincidence.

A bugged quest 12 years in the making!

Edit: Found my first enraged kodo at 52.85 80.01 after an hour of genociding the local kodo population! Does not count for the quest. Amazing quest!

Description

As you have by now witnessed, the rapid changes to this region can have both positive and negative effects on the native creatures.

To the south and east of here, enraged kodo are a constant threat to anyone nearby.

It's time to put my theory to the test. I've used the rejuvenated thunder lizard's blood in the making of this concoction. I'm hoping it will soothe the kodo when they eat it.

Place it near an enraged kodo and make sure you do it from a safe distance!
