Two good spots are 37,67 and 40,63 in Tanaris around the big bones there.

A thing to note is that when i completed this quest I noticed my hatchling now had feathers on his arms and legs. Not sure if they where always there or not, can I get a answer from someone who checked beforehand?

I just checked before completing this and it appeared the pet remained the same before and after. He had the feathers on his feet before hand. Granted this is only my second day of dailys though, perhaps it's a timebased thing.

There's something bugged about this quest. I've been killing dozens of Searing Rocs in the locations all over Tanaris, and I haven't seen one feather drop. I've tried dropping and re-accepting the quest, but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

It says on the quest text that the mobs are "northeast of Thistleshrub Valley". There seem to be different mobs in the south to those in the north of Tanaris. After killing mobs unsuccessfully for a good 15 minutes around all the dead animals near to Gadgetzan, I read the quest log, went down to the area just above Uldum, and got drops off every other bird.

EDIT: The mobs that you're after for the feathers are Searing Rocs, the birds in the north are just Rocs.

You'll have to do this quest 20 times to get the 20 Venomhide Baby Tooth for the quest They Grow Up So Fast, which will allow you to ride your new mount with Whistle of the Venomhide Ravasaur.

This all starts at Mor'vek when he gives you the quest Toxic Tolerance.

The full chain quest is:
- Toxic Tolerance
- Venomhide Eggs

Then the following quests for 20 days (it's a random quest each day)

- Hungry, Hungry Hatchling
- Gorishi Grub
- Poached, Scrambled, Or Raw?
- Searing Roc Feathers

And finally you will finish They Grow Up So Fast and get your new raptor mount.

A little warning should be made here.
These 4 daileys are lame to do because you won't get any experience from delivering the quest.
I hoped that you get at least get some experience for all the troubles you need to do
when you are about lev 55 you gain a bit exp. from killing those mobs but thats over real soon as you grow in you levels after 20 days.
So unless you only do this because you want to get the hard to get pet i suggest to skip it because its lame and boring if you ask me.

the WH quick fact list this quest as race specific. (Blood Elf and Orc) I however have completed this on my mage and the final quest of They Grow Up So Fast does count as a Loremaster of Kali tick.

Searing Roc Feathers

Your Venomhide Hatchling wants you to get 5 pieces of Searing Roc Plumage.

Description

The hatchling looks at you for a moment, almost as if wondering whether you'll understand. It scrawls a picture of a pair of feathers in the dirt, then points with one claw to the bindings at its elbows and knees.

It doesn't seem hungry, but what could the feathers be for?

It must want them for adornments like the ones you've seen on other raptors. The largest feathers come from the searing rocs that congregate around the bones of large creatures in western Tanaris, northeast of Thistleshrub Valley.
