To complete this quest, kill Lord Everblaze in southern Crystalsong Forest. You'll find him in the mountains separating Crystalsong from Dragonblight, to the east of the ruined bridge. He is a unique spawn, so you may have to wait. Kill him and loot the Everburning Ember. Fly to Winter's Breath Lake in northern Howling Fjord near the Taunka outpost there. The Maiden of Winter's Breath Lake is encased on a small island in its center. Use the ember on her to complete the quest.

This quest, along with A Blade Fit For A Champion, and A Worthy Weapon, is one of three weapon-fetching dailies available to Argent Tournament Aspirants and Valiants. Each faction has its own version, though they're identical aside from the specific quest NPC. This particular quest is for Ironforge Valiants. The other versions are:

Also, you need a quest item for every group member if you are doing it with a friend.

Im on that quest now and having a hard time loot the item...i already killed him 7 times and he doesnt drop it. Is this quest still active or not? Plz help if anybody knows whats going on or has the same problem ... ok its been numerous times now and i give up, dont know whats wrong :(

Now for any reason any of you guys that don't have cold flying and want to finish this quest, I suggest going to Dragonblight. Just follow these steps.

1. Go to Wyrmrest Temple.
2. Pick up the daily quest in the middle level of the temple.
3. Go to the dragon that is used to do this quest.
4. Instead of doing the quest, go fly to where the fire dude is to obtain the item for the Edge of Winter quest.
5. Go to the ice cube.
6. Free her from her prison.

Instead of flying straight on your own mount (I hope people remebered to train cold weather flying), you can fly to Windrunner's Overlook (72.2, 81.0) in Crystalsong Forest. Lord Everblaze is right aroung the corner. Once the Everburning Ember is looted from him, return to flight point and taxi down to either Westguard Keep (31.3, 44.0) or Fort Wildervar (60.1, 16.1) in Howling Fjord. (Both are same distance from next waypoint, but Westguard Keep is cheaper when using taxi.) Fly to Maiden of Winter's Breath Lake in Howling Fjord (42.2, 19.6). Click Everburning Ember in your bags. You will then receive Winter's Edge and be able to turn in to quest giver.

Description

Curse that death knight for breaking my sword!

In southern Crystalsong Forest, overlooking the Crystal Vice's exit, you will find Lord Everblaze. Kill him and take the everburning ember from his corpse.

Bring it to the center of Winter's Breath Lake in northern Howling Fjord, and use it to free the maiden encased in ice. She is the guardian of an ancient sword and will award it to whoever frees her.

Prove your worth and earn the weapon that she has guarded for so long, <name>.
