I believe this is the first quest to start to get the ability to have a flying mount in Northrend.

Lakeside Landing is at River's Heart, the other FP in this zone. It is not listed as such in the flight map.

This quest has no follow up and only serves the purpose of showing you where the cold weather trainer is if you hit 77 in Sholazar Basin.

Okay, so apparently people are giving workarounds instead of letting you know there is something wrong with this quest............

If you read your quest text it says "take the flight to lakeside landing", it does not say anything about venturing on your own to get there. It leads you to believe you either already have the flight path when you talk to the flying machine next to the quest giver, or that you can talk to the quest giver again and get a flight there... Apparently its broken. I've reported it, and hopefully it'll get fixed.

I just did this quest. I didn't have the flight path to Lakeside Landing, so I just flew* there myself in Swift Flight Form. When I got there, Pilot Vic was waiting with a yellow question mark over his head.

*Note: I flew there in flight form, but I'm fairly certain you could just walk there if you don't have Cold Weather flying yet. The point is to get you to Lakeside Landing. How you get there does not affect the quest at all.

Pilot Vic is down in a basin. There's a path from the north side. Don't forget to ask Tamara to sample your Jungle Punch when you get there.

VERY Confusing text! It says "Take a fly" Well if you try to talk to the airplane it doesn't have a flight path! So you just look on your map for a big circle of water in central Sholazar Basin, and go to it :D careful if your not on a flying path its a drop so you may run straight off onto rocks! To get down onto the pilots area! Just go around to the Rainspeaker or w/e's camp and walk down thru the path :D

Just accepted this quest, and I was surprised to notice i DID have FP to river's heart. I don't know if you get it automatically by fixing the flight master nearby, or accepting the quest, or having cold weather flying, but atleast I had never been there before and still had FP.

I just flew there myself and the quest was available. so you could ground travel there as well and get the quest.

Still counts for the "Into the Basin" achievment. So do it, even if the silly quest is broken.

Is there some requirement or is this unavailable now? The only three qs I'm missing in Sholazar are these, and the Vic followups. But for w/e reason, this one, and those as well, are not available.

ok mabe im going insane or somehing else is wrong with this picture. im going back to this zone to finish my Northerend Loremaster but i got to 55 / 75 quests to complete it, and i just turned in this quest and for some reason its a dead end...... no other quests came up, and i have my tracker going. i did every available quest i could find and im just stuck is there a bug out here or something ?

The confusion here seems to be that the place they are asking you to go to isn't called "Lakeside Landing" on the map, it's only called that when you land there. What they want you to do is fly to River's Heart, which is on the map and is likely a flight point for you. I think this is just a confusion with the quest instruction text, not a bug or anything with the quest itself.

Description

You did a good job helping Wes with getting that flying machine back up and running.

If you'd like to help us further, there is an unusual weather pattern coming in from the northeast. I have a pilot ready to work for me, but I'm afraid he needs a copilot.

If you think you're up to it, you can take the flight to Lakeside Landing. Tell Vic I sent you.
