Despite being marked as a group quest, all 3 mobs are non elite and soloable. However, they all have special quirks that make them very difficult if not kept in check.

Bloodfeast will periodically turn invincible and summon around 5 bloodworms. They die in one hit, but if not killed quickly, Bloodgore will heal himself back up to full.

Iceshatter periodically casts an aura that rapidly increases melee and casting time. Somewhere around 30% increase a stack, and VERY quickly stacking up. Can be stunned, bashed, pummeled, ect. to stop. If you don't stop it, you'll quickly find yourself taking forever and a day to attack.

Drakegore is the easiest. He has an aura that does around 300 fire damage to anyone within 5 yards of him whenever he's hit with a melee attack. Just quickly kill him and the damage will be negligible.

For those of you playing without coord mods.... They are NOT near the torches. Don't go running around the torch mounds looking for them.

Iceshatter patrols around the northern edge of the lake directly east of the temple. Very small patrol area.

Bloodfeast is located on the north east rim of the Emerald Dragonshrine. He has a small patrol area and can be found often overlooking the shrine or the canyon which runs out of the shrine to the NE. He is not in the canyon.

Drakegore patrols along a shallow gulch which runs along the mountains to the south of the Bronze Dragonshrine.

Drakegore is Non-Elite
Iceshatter IS elite and has about 25K HP.
Bloodfeast IS elite and has about 25K HP

Bloodfeast's bloodworms are immune to fear and AoE Damage.

As of today, Iceshatter's AoE has a much bigger range (was hitting me near the edge of glyphed charge range), and still hits very hard. Probably not doable as a non-kiting class. Heck, his charge is probably a nasty ability even for them.
Edit: His AoE no longer does damage right away, so you have time to run out of range. Perfectly soloable now.

All were easily soloable for me (Shadow Priest). Drakegore had more health than the others but didn't hit as hard.

All exept Bloodfeast gives ~7.000 experience when killed. They got exactly 1 minut respawntime, and is easly soloed by a lvl 72 mage(frost). At level 74 i came by one of them and killed it, still gave ~7.000 XP. So i stayed there and farmed it for a while. You can make ~170k XP/hour by just killing this single mob. (you choose which, both of em "sucks" for melee).

Just felt like sharing. If you hate questing or is missing like 70k XP to gain a level(to go to a new area for an example). Then this is lovely ;)

Drakegor has 34,790 health. Can be feared and solo'd by an affliction warlock. Elite.
- DoTs, HoT, DC, Fear, SB, SB, Fear. Repeat as needed.
Iceshatter has 24,850 health. Cannot be feared and solo'd by an affliction warlock. Elite.
- DoTs, Run away from Pulsing Shards, take the hits, DoTs. Repeat as needed.
Bloodfeast has 24,850 health. Cannot be feared and solo'd by an affliction warlock. Elite.
- DoTs. Repeat as needed. Put CoA on each add.

Just tried it as a holy priest and holy nova wasn't affecting any of them.

Soloed all 3 as a 74 arcane mage. Not easy, popped all my cooldowns, but doable. Stay on the ball and get away from spell casts. Charges are nasty too, keep your blink to get away when it comes!

I soloed all three as a 76 Afflic lock, Drakegore is fearable, end of story.

My blueberry took most of the aggro and AoE from Iceshatter but I must admit he did get me in the end, MAN it packs a punch but thats what SoulStones are for.

Lastly, Bloodfest takes awhile casting his infesting maggots, if you have a pet they'll take the first aggro from that like how my blueberry did (if you send them in first, obviously), giving you time to dot/mess him up.

Bloodfeast: 66 : 70 (soloed at demon lock lvl73 , very hard, have to hit kiting him and his adds around, as his adds hit you they give him hp back, if you can take them out fast then do it)

Drakegore: 68 : 42 (soloed as demon lock lvl73, easy, pet tank, dot, nuke, soulshatter, dot, nuke

Soloable as 76 frost mage, even though only Drakegore is snarable. For the other two, just iceblock when they eat through your shields, let W.E. take aggro, gain distance and finish the job. I found Bloodfeast's healing to be negligible relative to the damage being done, but your mileage may vary.

Just did this as a 77 Elemental Shaman. Not a bad trio.

Bloodfeast was a non-issue, I had him down just as he was spawning his first set of adds. The adds however are immune to AOE so Thunderstorm did nothing. You just have to hit each one individually with a Lightning Bolt/Shock.

Iceshatter was a huge issue. I actually died three times on him alone. Earth Shock won't interrupt his Aura cast and neither will War Stomp for the Tauren. I ended up having to blow Earth Elemental and DPS'ing along side him to finally bring him down. The hardest of all 3 without question.

Drakegore was also not much of an issue. He does a lot of damage but it's very easy to just DPS and Heal yourself through it.

Hope this helps out the future Shaman along the way.

I just solo'd all three of them as a 76 feral. Did all three in bear form simply for the extra mitigation.

Iceshatter wasn't much of a problem. Just avoid his AoE effect, as others have said, and you'll be fine.

Drakegore has a ton of HP, but goes down easy.

Bloodfeast caused me some trouble on my first time because I ignored the adds. Bad idea, becuase they heal him with damage. DPS'd them down the second time and took care of him with no problem then.

Iceshatter is by far the most nasty of them all and debuff he does hurts a lot. You either have to run out of it, either dispell magic, for if it stacks up you are screwed. By far most tricky of all elites in first 3 zones.

not very long ago, these gave 8k exp each..
killed them quite recently and they gave 4 // 1.5 // 1.5 k exp each

drake gore and ice shatter got nerfed, cuz they were better to lvl on then questing with their ~1min respawn timers.
got one lvl from them on my Hpala :p

Easily soloed as a 72 retribution paladin, as i had mostly all crit rating gear i had like 34% crit chance with melee and 33% with spells, so The Art of War was proccing like mad so i sustained a healthy hp 70% at all times.

I think this is the easiest way for a paladin to solo.

Bloodfeast was the easiest as he can be stunned and incapacitated.

the other 2 were also easy as you can go out of range of Iceshatter's AoE, heal up a bit, get some mana regen and go again, Drakegore is also pretty easy as his maggots don't do much damage and that's all he did when i was against him, summon maggots.

To all who read this, do not waste time killing the maggots, he would have spawned the next lot by the time you kill the first lot and so on.

All three soloed as a level 73 Frost Mage. I used Ice Barrier and Water Elemental on all three.

Drakegore: Use Frost Nova and Blink and DPS down since not immune.

Iceshatter: Easy kill. Just Blink away from the Pulsing Shards and kill.

Bloodfeast: He was a little harder due to the maggots, but I just sent in my water elemental to tank until I had enough distance. Immune to Frost Nova and slowing effects. Use Blink and Frost Barrier whenever up. Single target maggots after Bloodfeast is down. Tried Arcane Explosion but did not seem to work on them.

Running from Iceshatter only worked so well for me. For those paladins who still get a stack or two of Pulsing Shards, Cleanse will dispel it.

soloed all as 72 bm hunter, but my pet died on all three, and after bloodfeast was down I died from worms which ignored my feign - still got credit though.

Easily soloable as 75 lock with felguard. Doesn't matter what order you kill them in, but bloodfeast is the hardest. Just remember to put one dot on each of the maggots as they appear and he should go down fast. Unfortunately you can't AoE them for some reason - I guess blizzard thought that would make him too easy.

I almost completely soloed the whole quest on my 73 affliction warlock. Bloodfeast was a problem with the worms, but I had help for a couple horde characters who handled them.

Just solo'd as 74 feral drood.Did Bloodfeast 1st with some kara epics then greens from quests. Went in as bear and triggered my survival instincts, barksin and lifeblood and set off my balebrw charm that calls the balebrew maiden. She took care off maggots long enough for me to take his hp right down.

As a lvl 74 warrior in mostly northrend gear w/ gorehowl and merciless bonecracker, able to solo all 3 without any real difficulty besides bloodfeast. A tip for other fury wars having problems with him: Ignore the worms, nothing but a rage dump and bloodfeast deals pretty high damage himself. During the first cast of worms, pop death wish, pop recklessness, and time your swings so that WW, bloodthirst, and slam (or execute if you deal really high crits) all use recklessness charges. He drops in literally seconds.

These all 3 are very easy to solo as a 72 protection paladin in quest greens and some cobalt crafted stuff. Just keep these in mind

- When iceshatter starts casting the ice thing, just run away from him and wait for the channel to end.
- Bloodfeast's worms are immune to all AOE damage. Just nuke bloodfeast down fast.
- Drakegore has a fire damage aura, does nearly 300 every tick. By using fire resistance aura you will resist about 90 of that damage.

All three respawns very fast :) Probably around 1 minute.

Solo'd as a mutilate rogue in quest gear, just pop evasion and burn them down and you will be fine. Keep in mind that Drakegore in stunnable, but the other 2 are not.

Soloed as 74 Mut/HfB rogue in T4/5 lv70 raid gear.

Drakegore I just burned down. Evasion is your friend.
Iceshatter was a bit harder - used drums and Evasion, also CoS allows you to burn him throughout the AoE.
Bloodfeast was another cakewalk - save evasion for the worms, that will allow you to avoid their additional damage and burn him down. The worms hang around afterwards, so save the high fives until they're gone.

Oddly enough, Drakegore (the stunnable one) was the hardest for me as a 75 Prot warrior in quest gear.
Iceshatter was easy due to spell reflecting his Pulsing Shards, and Bloodfeast was pretty easy as the worms kill themselves on Damage Shield. For Drakegore, I had to burn my trinket from Battle for the Undercity, a potion, and shield wall. Even then, I had about 20% life left at the end.

Solo'd as 72 Ret Pally. No problems. Did it in mostly green quest gear w/ the exception of Ingvar's Monolithic Cleaver and a couple of minor blues.

Was worried about the maggots but ret aura took care of them mostly so just concentrated on the elite.

Bubbled once on Iceshatter but prob could have gotten him without it.

just DPS the hell out of them :)

Solo'd all three within ten minutes as a 72 Arms Warrior using quest greens/blues and Ingvar's Monolithic Cleaver

For Bloodfeast, just Charge (to generate rage as he's un-stunnable), Rend, Mortal Strike (to keep the healing of the maggots to a minimal) and then just Bladestorm and Execute at the end.

Same routine for Iceshatter and Drakegore, just Charge in there, use Rend, activate Taste for Blood and use Overpower, then just Bladestorm him and Execute when it's time.

If you're having trouble, try using Retaliation.

i solo'd 2 of them Drakegore and Bloodfeast thos two were eazy solo'd i was a prot warrior lvl 72 with BC raid gear T4 but Iceshatter was harde as hell i got a group for him of 2 ppl becoz there were a 80 retard attacking me.... killed him 2 times :D

Simple quest, solo-able by a level 73 Shadow Priest.

Bloodfeast was the biggest challenge, he spawns bloodworms that give health back if they hit you (much like a Blood DK) and they cannot be feared so I tossed SW:P on all of them and they dropped pretty quick.

Apart from that, the other two mobs in this quest were fairly simple, just keep your range on Iceshatter and Drakegore is fearable so these two should pose no threat.

As a 73 Elem. Shaman the easiest way to kill Bloodfeast (for me) was to use my Fire Elemental to get initial aggro; keep it up and you kill the maggots as they spawn, letting the Elemental tank and spank Bloodfeast. Occasionally throw a Flame Shock but watch your aggro. He's annoying because he's not snareable + the maggots bite hard.

I cleared this quest alone with a level 74 Deathknight, Blood spec with quest reward gear and the Axe of Frozen Death with Cinderglacier rune. I never got lower than ~50% health with the help of one Runic Healing Potion and the Medallion of Heroism trinket.
Probably could've cleared it without the Rune Healing Potion, but better safe than sorry :)

Solo'd w/ 75 Shadow Priest. For Bloodfeast - sent in the fiend on aggressive, which took care of the maggots. Just a straight DPS race from there. He didn't even summon a second round of maggots, which was nice. Turns out that was the easiest of the 3. The other 2 weren't anything special... shield + dps = win.

Easily solo'd as a 72 Elemental shaman. Drakegore, nothing special, just earthbind totem to snare/slow, thunderstorm him back, and keep up the lightning bolts.

Iceshatter wasn't too hard, just back out when he begins casting his spell and dps him as he is chanelling it from a distance.

Bloodfeast was the hardest. It would have been way to easy with summoning either of the elementals, but popping bloodlust was a huge help. Lust before the fight, lightning bolt, elemental mastery/chain lightning. I ended up getting so many crits in with lightning bolt due to elemental mastery, that along with bloodlust, I dpsed him down before he could even finish summoning his beetles.

Solo'd as a 73 Mutilate Rogue in quest gear.

Drakegore can be stunned, and is rather simple to beat as a result; open with Cheap Shot, KS when you need to and just burst him down.

Iceshatter cannot be stunned, open with your preferred opener and just go to town on him. But the second he starts casting Pulsing Shards, walk away a good bit and let the duration of the cast finish. He'll damage himself -and- it won't affect you; I managed to kill him with 70% of my health remaining. Now, if you don't get out of the way, Pulsing Shards inflicts 250 Frost damage every 3 sec and slows attack and cast speed by 30% for 15 seconds, but can stack You'll be dead and fast; if you do get caught by a bit of it, Cloak of Shadow immediately, but I didn't even need to do that in my fight.

Finally, Bloodfeast who cannot be stunned as well. I recommend opening with Garrote, and then just going to town on him- but the second his worms spawn, tab to them and pick them off one by one or you'll probably die before you can finish him. I recommend popping Evasion as his cast is going to finish to make the last leg of the fight easier. Died the first time because I thought I could just burst him down before the worms made him a hastle second time I picked off the worms at once and ended up killing him with a few thousand HP left no problem.

For all three fights, pop Evasion and if you have any boosting trinkets, scrolls, or food - use 'em. I didn't need a potion for any of the fights, but it might not hurt to have some handy just in case.

These guys are pretty easy as ele shaman (depending on gear ofc, I got 9k HP, 930 SP(with flametounge, 1070 with ToW, and SP trinket for 180 SP), 123 haste(5,4%) and 19,5% crit), my tac is just burst, used against all of these elites:

Dropped Stoneskin(armor always helps), ToW(Burst), Mana or healing spring(every little bit helps) and wrath of air(haste=burst).

Use SP trinket->LB->CL->flame shock->lava burst->thunderstorm->CL->earth shock
This should kill them(the last one was hardest tho, may need another lava burst or LB)

If you're still not 75, they can be a bit harder, but Arniespizza had a good tac for that :)
No matter what, always watch your HP

Solo'd as a 73 MM hunter.
Not very hard.
Drakegore was just DPS. If he targets you, just FD, then keep attacking. Used traps and kite a lot.
Iceshatter was the easier, just DPS, my pet didn't died.
and Bloodfeast was the hardest, but when u figure it out, it get easy.
Bloodfeast hit are weak, then you can tank with ur pet and keep Mend Pet on. When he summon the maggots, u just kill them then keep attacking.

I think there maybe a slight bug in with Bloodfeast. A friend and I were DPSing him, and his health was going down by about 1k and then bumping back up to full health. We've tried several times and the same problem kept reoccuring. No about of DPS is making his health go down.

Tip for all the frost mages out there,

Since bloodfeast is unfreezable, You can use Deep freeze to inflict major damage, At level 73 with around 800 spellpower, mine crits for around 10k, So that does help. Ofc. you need to hope your Fingers of Frost Proc's for you to use it.

Easily Soloable for a 73 Frostmage Green/Blue Questgear + Heirlooms (I recon you can still easily do it without Heirlooms, Didnt try though.)

74 affliction lock (56/8/0)
Bloodfeast : sent the voidwalker, dotted only using corruption and CoA, and one haunt. very little health-funnel so i don't get aggro. Worms came to me as i healed my pet, corruption on each of them. very peacefully, the elite went down, haunt gave me health back from the worms, only used drain life once.
Iceshatter : went down fast .. only thing is his dots almost killed me way after he died (pot+stone but i reched 26 HP left !)
Drakegore : piece o' cake, dot drain and tank

Easily soloable as a 73 unholy DK who made the switch about an hour before.
Horn of winter, bone shield, anti-magic shell, perma ghoul, and gargoyle will definitely be your friend in this situation.
I sent in my ghoul first, waited a few seconds, then threw down death and decay and charged in, throwing up anti-magic shell as I went if I had the runic power, and it worked beautifully.
With Iceshatter you will be prone to dying, but normally he dies just a second or two after you and you still get credit.

All in all, this is a very easy, no group needed quest.

Iceshatter: Just cleans all Pulsing Shards he casts (Very important), you could bubble to avoid them too.

Drakegore: Just melt his face, nothing special.

Bloodfeast: Kill the maggots then pwn his face. Easy as that.

Just solo'd this w/ 72 Shadow Priest, wearing mostly blues.

Just shield and spank, avoid the buffs and its all over for them!

Send in fiend to take aggro on Bloodfeast, then clean up the maggots.
Run when Iceshatter casts Pulseing Shards, then turn and burn.
With Drakegore, just shield and spank. Easy quest....

As a feral druid, when Bloodfeast summons the maggots, pop Thorns and go right back to beating on him. Thorns will kill them very quickly and he's pretty much done after that.

Solo'ed as lvl 72 feral druid, only had trouble with Iceshatter, use instant healing spells since he will kill you while you are waiting for that heal.

Soloed these as a arms warrior, level 73. They are fairly easy.

Iceshatter is fairly easy just avoid his Pulsing Shard ability, it is a long cast so easily avoided by running away till it is finished. Once it is finishes he charges for 200% weapon damage, as a warrior I was able to charge him before the cast finished thereby ignoring his charge.
I soloed him again afterward to see what damage the charge caused... it was not that bad and I was still able to kill him while having plenty of health left.

Drakegore stills hits decent on plate but I was able to kill him with 4K health left without using any potions or healing.

Bloodfeast - Despite his big name he hits like a girl. His only ability Incite Maggotts sends a few maggots at you, which if not killed will heal Bloodfeast. They are easily killed and then Bloodfeast is easily killed.

Beware! These guys respawn wicked fast so be careful not to leave your toon and go afk near them.

Also I realize some of this information, if not all of it has been recorded previously. However some elites in Northrend have been buffed/nerfed since creation and so this may be helpful for somebody

71-74 Death Knight Instructions (Frost)

This goes for all 3. Get them alone, summon your ghoul, run up and let ghoul take aggro for a min then cast icy touch on mob. Then do blood strike. Sit back for a second, maybe cast death and decay for some added damage. Just wait a sec and let your ghoul do it's job. I waited till the guys were around half health or maybe a little less and then re upped on the icy touch, obliterated and blood strike. By the time I was in the second cycle of that they were dead. Simple quest. Any time you have an elite, try to get it alone and try that.

72 Frost in quest greens and like 3 quest blues. Dual wield. Although these instructions would work for 2h. I just followed the original comments about the coords, and the order to fight them in. Worked.

Found out, that the quest can be a bit buggy if you are in a group. Solution leave group and do it alone then enter group again. Don't know why, but otherwise we wouldn't get the kill.

After Loosing 10 or more g. And As A Druid, I Abanded it. Maybe There;s Something I Missed? But After 1 hr and over 10g. I Gave up. Unlike my other Charitors, Was Easy? The Druid After Patch 4.8 The Druid Now Much Weaker Than Before!

Pretty much impossible to do in 7.3.5 now. At least that's my experience. I cannot get past Iceshatter at all, his dps starts out normal, then he starts hitting me for half my HP each time. It is not listed as a group quest and there's nobody around. Oh well. :(

Since the level scaling patch, these guys were unkillable to me as a Subtlety Rogue at level 77 outfitted in heirlooms and at-level gear. Make sure to bring a friend if you're going to try for these mobs.

For those struggling with Iceshatter following the 7.3.5 scaling changes, he does the Pulsing Shards (the ability that chunks away half your health per tick) in melee range. If you run away from him as casts it, he'll do the entire channel where he's standing and you'll take no damage. He'll charge to you afterwards, but the charge damage is trivial.

I'm a hunter and I died 3 times trying to kill Iceshatter, trying some of the techniques suggested but I guess I wasn't fast enough. The fourth time I stood on the rock that's to the north of the blue ice and that seemed to absorb some of the strength of the Pulsing Shards. I put a trap down and sent my pet to attack and I died a split second after Iceshatter, but I'd done it.

I found myself unable to survive the debuff from Iceshatter too (70 Guardian druid) but you can avoid getting stacks at all by using the rock north of the ice to break line of sight. Just hide behind it until he's done casting, rinse and repeat. Definitely easier than trying to find people in the zone to group with.

Don't bother with this quest. As a prot warrior with full heirlooms his pulsing shards hit me for over half of my health

Quest is broken. I fought Iceshatter first and he straight up murdered me. Didn't even come close to killing him.

Mighty Magnataur

Hunt down and kill Bloodfeast, Iceshatter, and Drakegore east of Wyrmrest Temple.

Bloodfeast resides in the southeastern corner of the Dragon Wastes, just north of the Emerald Dragonshrine. Iceshatter patrols the northern edge of the Mirror of Dawn. Drakegore wanders at the bottom of the cliffs west of the Bronze Dragonshrine.

Return to Aurastrasza at Wyrmrest Temple once the magnataur have been slain.

Description

Magnataur are hideously violent creatures... this is the main reason we rarely see them come together in any real numbers without killing each other. A powerful leader has stepped up somewhere among them and we need to hunt him down if we are to stop this threat.

I will start asking around. I need you to disrupt them as much as possible in the meantime.

East of here there are 3 torches erected. Near them, there are 3 dominant Magnataur - put them down to buy us some time to hunt down this leader.
