Overlord Mor'Morokk hits harder than a standard elite of his level, however this quest is quite doable either solo or with a helper.

Because of the nature of the quest, you have only a second or two after you start this quest before he becomes hostile. For any class that relies on range or abilities like charge this will add an extra layer of complexity to this fight.

Once you reduce him to about 20% of his hitpoints, he will revert to being a friendly target and run off wimpering into the swamp.

Soloed at level 42 affliction lock using VW. Easy with fear chaining him. Let VW take agroo, build up dot's and start fear chaining. If you have Dark pact, after he's feared set VW's threat skills off so you don't have to life tap. If he resists a fear, hit him with a death coil and that should give enough time to fear him again. If he resists both, you can sac the VW and fear him that way, aswell.

He hit me once or twice, both ~ 500-600 so as he's feared could slip in a quick first aid heal.

I solo'd as a 44 Blood Elf Assassin Rogue. I needed 2 blinding powders, luck with the Crippling Poison application, and a lot of arrows. First, I accepted the quest and ran away, just enough to make him reset. Then I quickly ran back and Cheap Shotted him before the quest failed. By the time my stun wore off, I had Crip posion applied. I gouged him, ran back, and fired arrows until he got too close. By then, I did 1 of 2 things: If I had 5 combo points, I Kindey shotted and backstabbed until stun wore off, gouged, ran and shot arrows like before. Had I know 5 points, I just gouged and ran until I did. Took a lot of time and a lot of kiting, and I had to blind him twice. I used 5 total bandages and about a million gouges, but it worked. I don't reccomend this method unless you're desperate, because it's half luck.

Just soloed it, first try, 44 Frost-spec Mage. I only had one bandage left so I thought I was hosed, used Evoc, Ice Block, Cold Snap and 2 mana pots. Basically spent the whole fight just kiting him in slow circles around the fire in the middle. I would frostbolt, strafe back a bit, frostbolt, frost nova, blink to the other side. If he got real close I'd CoC. I got him to about 30%ish and at that point he runs off and you win.

Fought him 3 times, 48 Fire Mage. Kiting around the fire, as much as a fire mage can do, is useless because he walks right through it. Eventually I had the help of a random druid who just healed me, which is what I needed.
Got swiped a few times but blinked out of them. Otherwise its doable if your lucky with crits, stuns, and his hits. Id have gotten him the first two times but he didnt quite reach that 20-30% range of running away and I was out of mana having to drink a health pot to stay alive and just a mana stone for help.

Managed to solo this as a lvl 43 fire mage similar to how Thristan did.

I used the low wagon between Krog and Zulrg to force him to go around that big wagon behind Zulrg:

Started with frost nova
Ran over the wagon to the other side, thus forcing him to walk around to my side.
Used frostbolt, ran over the wagon to the other side
Frostbolt again and run over the wagon to the other side
Repeat until he surrenders.

Threw in a Fire blast once in a while to make it a bit faster.
Use evocation and bandage/pots if needed. But should be doable with out using them all.

I did this solo as a level 44 warlock, though I did die the first time. Set the soulstone before starting this quest. On the second attempt, he cannot touch you as each hit drains significant heath and can stun you. You're dazed and he continues to hit you. The idea is to continually use Fear to keep him running and repeatly use the Dots. I used the Voidwalker only to replenish my mana.

Just soloed this the first try as a 46 feral druid (2900hp 4700 armor in bear). Accept the quest and move far enough away to feral charge at the start.

Used bash, roots when I needed to pop off a heal or two. Took about 2 mins or so total but wasnt hard to complete overall.

Soloed as a level 41 affliction warlock using the chain fearing method described above. Had voidwalker up for dark pact and an emergency shield (which wasn't needed). I just used the standard DoTs and mixed in Curse of Exhaustion occasionally to give myself some breathing room when reapplying fear. My combat log shows 10300 damage done over 5:35 minutes before he ran off and triggered the quest completion.

Soloed as a 44 affliction lock, dotted him up and nightfall-bolted him, when I got aggroed I just fear kited and wanded him, dotted CoA when I had enough mana. Used 1 Greater Mana Pot.

45 BM hunter, no worries, took growl off my pet, kept mend pet up, when my pet got low, I would distracting shot him off my pet, run him around, feign or taunt with my pet...wash rinse repeat

easily soloed as a 45 frost mage.
simply kite him around with chain slows etc. had to use one mana jade and evocation. ended the fight with myself close to full hp.

Tried soloing this at 43 (yeah, I know, very optimistic), Prot Paladin. Went well for the first 20% or so, after that the stuns were coming so often, I could hardly do anything. Used both bubbles, a potion, LoH and a heavy stone statue, ended up stunning him when I had 100 hp left and ran off. He was down to 49% then.

I ended up getting help from a 70 mage who passed by. This guy's a lot harder than most 45 elites. A lot.

Tried to solo as a Lv 45 Arms Warrior. Wouldn't have been able to make it without my Warlock friend backing me up. Overlord has a ton of HP for his level.

As a priest, get the speed boot enchant and run away while applying rank 1 (or 2) shadow word: pain constantly. You'll run out of mana if you use anything else. He'll deaggro and run back shortly after 3 ticks of pain, so watch your timer and damage. It'll take a long time, but it's doable.

Everyone: Make sure you're inside the camp and near the bonfire when you get him to 30% or so. If you're outside, he'll bug out and you'll have to do it all over again, including waiting on the respawn.

fear chaining + DoT`s make this fight preatty easy

i was fighting with him outside camp and when he was 30% of his life he was come back to the camp and then he run out

If you have a class capable of kiting him, you can kite him around the wall right beside the flight point, with the two canopies coming off either side of it. Just run in circles around that wall, hitting him when you can. He doesn't run through it, and can't hit through it.

Did it that way on my 43 Afflic orc warlock, with vw out. Only had vw in case I needed the Sacrifice shield. Just Curse of Exhaustion kited him around the wall, easy peasy, though it took a few minutes since I was only using two other dots, Corr and Siph Life. Ended with full health and no mana, no mana on vw either since I had to Dark Pact it all away. Used no pots, scrolls, or buffs. How long it takes you will depend on how much +dmg you have, I had +113 total. Also, I had 2pts in Suppression, so only one or two of my dots were resisted.

Tried Fear-kiting him first, but he broke Fear both times after about 3s, so had to resort to wall kiting him instead.

The pre-requisite for this quest is the The Brood of Onyxia chain ( http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1170 ) which in turn has a pre-requisite of Identifying the Brood ( http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1169 )

I've just done this quest with a level 47 Paladin, very very tough fight. The fight itself lasted a good 8-10 minutes, used bubble twice and Blessing of Protection, as well as Divine Favour (I'm Holy spec) whenever it was off cool down, and the same for my jewel crafting owl. Great challenge though.

He has just over 14,000 health, and as stated, he gives up at around about 30%. As for the stuns, they seem to be a proc on his weapon, judging by the fact that the stuns are every so many seconds exactly, the stun also lasts for 4 seconds, so it's best to heal pre-emptively if you're a healer (although I wouldn't try this solo if I wasn't a healer or a class that can kite).

I found it an easy fight as a lvl 43 hunter...i spec full in BM (beast master) and i let my pet (bear) take the aggro. the fight lasted around 1 min. i used one potion when he stuned me. i used frost trap to get him off my back then ran to the nearest elevated spot, cant remember what it was. i used arcane shat and poison shot ALOT and i used arrow volly once. im not that powerful but it was a shit easy quest. i died first time onperpos when he was low health i just called off pet..i wanted to have the pleasure of pawning him with a bud of mine >:). lol that was fun he died in under a min didnt even have time to /rude him.....THE POINT BEING: just spam on the arcane and poisen and hes as good as dead

Soloed as a 41 paladin, protspec and using 3 manapots, Divine Shield, LoH, Bop and used judgement - seal of light on him the whole fight, it was a long and boring fight bot totaly possible.Crits/crushes at around 300.

Uhm, if you plan on soloing this quest using the debris between the flightmaster and the cave, jumping over the wagon.. Uhm. If you get stuck ontop it for more than about 0.5 seconds, Mokk will reset and regain 100% health. He did that to me three times before I eventually got him down, so do a little practise on the jumping before you give it a go.

Oh, also, you can reset this quest anytime you want; Mok will stop following you if you run away. I always left the quest when he did and when I did, he despawned for a couple of minutes. I dunno if you can simply run away and rest again, then go at it, but I guess. Worth giving out a try instead of dying at least.

Soloed as a 49 dagger rogue. Started the quest and stealthed - he aggroed on me anyway, but still managed to get a cheap shot on him. Evasion, 5cp CB Evis. Built up combo points again, 5 pt Kidney Shot, couple Backstabs, had him to about 50%. Blind, bandaged to full, got up to 5 points and KS again, couple more hits and he hit 30% and ran away.

Seems like they nerfed him somewhat in 2.3, he was hitting me for ~250 or so. Wasn't nearly as difficult as the older posts made it out to be. Probably soloable for most classes now.

Soloed easily as a 42 holy paladin. Kept Judgement of Light on him the whole fight. Just kept wailing on him with a 1H and shield (about 4300 armor total with devotion aura up). Threw in a few Holy Shocks, and Consecration's when my mana was high. I had to heal about every 15 sec, but when mana was low, I put Seal of Wisdom on myself to get it back up. I ended with about 1/2 health and 1/2 mana.

He does hit hard, but it's slow enough that you can outlast him, and just go on indefinitely. I probably could have fought him for hours like that and not died. His first couple of hits were daunting because I was at a 1/4 health in about 10 sec, and he hadn't even taken any noticeable damage, but don't give up, and eventually he'll go down.

Also, he may have been nerfed a bit since 2.3 came out, as this wasn't difficult at all.

Oh, also, i didn't use any bubbles or bandages, but with Spiritual Focus, I hardly every lost casting time on my heals.

Soloed him as a beastmaster hunter at level 42. My pet was a level 41 gorilla, with maxed natural armour and stamina. I basically hit him with the pet straight away and gave it a few seconds with growl, bestial wrath and a thunderstomp before I began dpsing, mending the pet once he had lost 75% of his HP. Kept mending him as he was taking some heavy damage (for this level anyways), and once he was nearing critical HP i used my last mana on frost trapping Mok'Morokk. Bandaged the pet, used a mana pot and feigned death before taking his last 20% or something with rapid fire on. Not bad, though I failed the first time with a different, underleveled pet who kept missing him.

Sundered him and then beat on him til my health got low, popped a health pot and blood fury then beat on him again, used intimidating shout to get away and bandage then finished him off to 20%.

Soloed as 45 BM hunter, sent my pet in, popped rapid fire, intimidation and bestial wrath and just shot him down, when my pet was 50% I used mend pet and feign deathed, and kept shooting. It was piece of cake, no need for kiting.

I'm really not sure what the fuss is with this quest. I soloed it at lvl 41 with my Warlock (Going for the updated SM/Ruin tree).

I stuck corruption and amplified curse of agony on him, then spaffed shadowbolts at him, fearing him if he came near me again. I used the imp rather than the voidwalker as his firebolt can keep hitting him without having to follow it everywhere. I finished with most of my health intact.

The only issue I had doing this was a paladin who was sat by the cave entrance laughing at me as I did it.

Keep up dots and fear/shield and throw in a mind blast every once in a while.

Beat him with my level 43 Retribution Pally. I had to use a healing pot and Lay of Hands but beyond that it was a few self heals and standard retri-pally attack rotations. Got him on the first attempt.

The quest appears to bug if you kite him too far. I took him about half way across the zone kiting him, when he went friendly, no credit. Strange, since this method gets him out of the village faster, which is the goal...

Solo'd as a level 45 warrior, not terribly difficult, just make sure you have a superior healing potion at the ready, use battle stance, rend, thunder clap, demoralizing should etc..

I just did this at 44 as a prot pally using a sword/board and 3 pieces of plate with Improved Righteous Fury and using Blessing of Sanctuary.

As soon as he aggroed I judged Seal of Light and then recast Seal of Light - he was only hitting me for about 100-150 normally, and when Reckoning procced this would normally net me back about 300 HP.
From there I refreshed Holy Shield whenever it was done, and popped Divine Shield when he knocked me over while I was at 20% and healed to full. I switched to Seal of Wisdom to keep my mana up, and continued.
Eventually I had to Blessing of Protection and bandage.

I used one Greater Healing Potion during a part where I didn't want to spend my mana on a heal and thought it too risky to not get some HP back in case he knocked me down.

As a 40+ frost mage, this guy is very easy.

Nova to start, pop Icy Veins (having 3/3 frostbite and points in shatter is key here) and nuke away. He probably won't reach you, and if he does you've got Ice Barrier up anyway. Blink, Cold Snap and repeat if necessary.

soloed as a lvl 45 hunter, the fight is hard but with a hunter or warlock it's a bit easier since you have a pet to take aggro, but definetly dont try and solo unless your a higher level.

Solo'd as a 42 prot pally. Used 2 mana pots, bubble, and LoH when low on health and mana. I had devo aura and BoW up. I tried to time heals in between his swings as they are pretty slow (I think they hit me for 100-200 normally, many were crushing though). He also has a rather long stun/knockdown, so don't wait until the very last moment to begin your heals (he almost got me that way). Took awhile with my amazing prot DPS but I eventually got him down. Hope this helps.

When I soloed this I was a lvl 44 Rogue. Any rogue around this level should have no problems at all with a few easy tips:

- Get into stealth after you accept the quest and be ready to cheap shot him.
- Use all your stun/incapacitate abilities to avoid taking too much dmg.
- Use your evasion after a kidney shot so you have a good chance of getting another easy 5 combo points.
- When/if you get to 50% hp or lower, blind him and bandage yourself and maybe even pot.
- Having Riposte should help, seemed to work well for me.

Just soloed as a 44 BM hunter. Popped Bestial Wrath and Mend Pet right away, then after a few seconds of auto-attacking (with serpent sting) I went in with Rapid Fire. I cast Mend Pet a second time, but my pet (a 43 cat) hardly took any damage by the time it was over. I'm only wearing average gear so I'm guessing he was nerfed at some point -- all I had to do was stand there and shoot!

As of 2.3.3, he's definitely soloable. Soloed, bla bla, only spammed 2 OP spells, I'm uber leet, whatever. Here are some global tips for those who have the courage to accept a challenge:

- He'll wait about 2-4 seconds before attacking you. This should be enough to get a decent range before he becomes KoS.
- Stealthed or not, he'll always run to you once he becomes KoS. This makes spells that take long to cast hardly usable. Also, you can still stealth and use stealth-specific moves if you strike him before he does.
- I don't know if he can be held by every spell (EG.: frost nova), but fellow druids, entangling roots works efficiently.
- He crits alot (druid 43). At least, he did to me. So, he hits hard enough for an elite. If you can heal yourself, be sure that he is very well CC'd or bound, because even outhealing AND keeping mana to survive while he's wacking you will cause healing to only buy you a slight amount of time.
- And yes, he will run away at 30% health. Mission complete.
- ONE thing to consider too: It's a level 45 elite, and most players who stop at Brackenwall Village are in their late 30's or barely level 40. Don't expect help by questers in the area; people aren't that stupid and probably know that an elite 4-7 levels above theirs is suicide. They don't want to pay the price of death if YOU fail. Either be confident in your soloing skills, or find someone else to duo it.

I went really close to dying. He's not easysauce if you're not a hunter/warlock.

Soloed as 41 Destuction Warlock. I just dotted up with CoA and Immolate, ShadowBurn and some Shadow Bolts.
Ran out of mana fast, so I had to use fear and Wand and drain life. Used imp for some dmg and more health. Did not use Potions.
I were very lucky with the Fears to not resist. Resist first two times, had like 30% Health left.

Okay, just killed this guy on a 43 frost spec mage pretty much solo, with help from half way in by a lvl 30 rogue who didn't hit much on him. As long as he's kept away from you its pretty easy. Anyway, just proving those people wrong that it's virtually impossible as a lvl 46 to solo :>

Soloed as a lvl 44 ex-twink rogue, 13/0/22. No potions or buffs, just used a pile of CD's and a bandage...had 1.4k hp left after fight. Easy 6900 exp :)

I tried him a couple of times with a ret paladin, first at level 43, then again at level 45.

At 43, I was almost continually stunned, so I didn't bother wasting pots. I just used a bubble and bailed. I think he was down to about 50% health when I bolted, so I think if I had decent gear, I would have gotten him, but I have crap gear.

At 45, he stunned me twice, but I had seal of light judged and seal of command cast the entire time. I used one pot, and I was at about 40% health when he ran off.

Soloed as a 39 hunter. He doesn't move very fast so I just put on aspect of the cheetah and ran around in circles shooting him till he died.

Soloed as a 43 prot pally, my 300 first aid was definitely needed. He hits too hard to try and outlast so I went for damage since I read he quits at about 40% health. Judged seal of Crusader, upped Seal of Righteousness, threw down highest lvl Consecrations available. Used Divine Shield when I was almost dead and healed with a heavy runecloth bandage to full health. Threw a Hammer of Justice in there and whacked away while he was stunned. By this time a minute should have gone by so you should be able to use Blessing of Protection (he is melee only so it's perfect)...bandaged again to full health. Whack, whack, whack. The end. If you get low on health again you should be able to use Lay on Hands for full health and some mana. Train your first aid!

Soloed as 43 Shadow Priest. From the comments above it doesn't sound like many liked the "crazy kite strategy" but it really is super simple. Just walk through between the cart and the boxes (no well timed jumps needed) the ogre can't fit and walks all the way around. Even if you don't have any DOT's and just need some time to bandage it would definitely help.

Solo'd at 42 as ret pally using the box/cart "kite". Ended up taking almost 5 minutes since he bugged and evaded once (back to full health) when I got hung up going through the gap.

Used 2 mana pots and 2 bandaids (mageweave). Had several back-to-back chain stuns, not too fun but manageable with the kite. Hits for about 150 with crits of 300 on about 2400 armor.

Easily done as 42 feral druid.
pop bear right away and keep demo roar up all the time. Try to keep rage around 70ish and when you get to half used furious regen. When my health got low a second time I used a stun and regrowth/rejuv and went cat, 5 quick points and rake then back to bear.

Kept cat bleeds and demo roar up as much as I could and only had to heal once.

Did this as a 47 ret pally, just judged crusader and auto attacked away with hammer of justice and judged command when up. Did not have to BoP or anything just did 1 repentance and a holy light and took a health pot and thats it. The fight did not take more than a minute.

As far as bugging out, you don't actually kill him he runs away around 30 percent. But based on my experience it seems that most classes should be able to solo him if prepared with pots/bandages etc.

Just soloed as 43 ret pally (with sword and broad). Used DS, HoJ and Repentance to heal up (2 big heals, 1 heavy silk bandage), and ate a mana pot. Judged SoC and then it was SoR all the way. Wouldn't have needed to pot if I had 3 mana taps :p

I was 40 when i done it, but I done it with help from a level 62. This NPC is found in Blackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh, Kalimdor. I think he dies so hard because my sword can't destoy it's fatness armor :).

I just tried on my lvl 44 tauren shaman, Duel weilding with no help and got him to run away before he got me down past 40% health with no potions or healing spells used.

killed him with a lvl 43 ice mage part solo, i froze him and ran back to mage from far when he got close i ran and froze asap got him to 40% with about 200 health from me shamen healed me and i killed him, easy quest if you do it right, one more level and i would have had no problems

Done this quest as a 46 Sub Rogue.Started out with cheapshot. Kept up ghostly strike and if its on cooldown ,Evasion.After which I used Preperation and repeated it. I dodged most of his attacks. I poted once and after that it was a piece of cake. Really tough fight though. Was quite interesting. You really need some skills to pull this one off yourself but was a nice challenge.

Attempted at rot moon fire insects let that runa nd repeat but he got unrooted too fast.

Attempt 2: (with a 38 lock)

Agro wouldnt go to lock i died then she was cake for him to kill

she gets on ehr 70 troll shaman we somehow bugged ripped in peices to fast and he was bugged on 1hp so i abandoned and let him kill me

i easily soloed this guy with my level 43 enhancement shaman.
i have normal dungeons gear and crusader on both weapons.
tip for shamans: use strength of earth totem and grace of air totem,
spam your shocks at the moment the cd is finished,you should also have some pots ready to be used against this guy.
do that and the battle will be over before it starts :P.

ehm ... don't know what all the fuss is about, really. perhaps he was changed at some point?

soloed as lvl 42 frost mage. had good gear (dreamweave + dungeon stuff). pre-cast Ice Barrier, then let mana regen to full before I took the quest. after that, basically just snare (alternating Frost Nova and Cone of Cold) + kite (blink ftw) + frost bolt, and maintain Ice Barrier as much as you can. I used mage armor for some regen, but had to pop a mana stone and a health potion, which is not unreasonable for soloing an elite several lvls higher.

Okay took a bit of skill but solo'd as an Enhance Shaman level 45. Drop earthbind totem near cart and kite him around the large cart. Whenever Stormstrike is up run up and hit him and keep kiting. Save mana so emergency if he gets too close and you need to Frost Shock or heal (Which you will need to do) I also had mana totem down. Didnt help much.

Soloed at 43 Affl Warlock...first try sent my void in and peppered him with all my fire power backfired as he came up to me and stunned me for the rest of the fight while CRITing me bad.

Second try sent the void in, put on my DOTs then kited when the void lost the aggro. Healed quick and renewed the DOts and kited him again.

So for any warlocks doing this, kiting is definitely the way to go, it was much easier, and I came out of it with only minor cuts and bruises.

Hi, I was able to solo this quest at level 38 as a hunter with a very simple tactic.

Using frost trap I was able to kite him with a help of a fence all the way to 20%, when he runs.

Soloed as a 42 level druid (feral), just do all your healing stuff on you before you accept the quest, then go cat form. When you have about %60 HP, use War Stomp, then root him. Heal yourself and do all of your hots again and go cat form. Do this again if you need healing (Stomp will probably in CD, but you can just use root). If you go out of mana, use innervate. That's it!

Solo'd this as a 32 dem lock. Easiest thing in the world.

Just hit him with fear, cover him in dots, and stick your demon on him. Repeat till fight is finished. I did it with my voidwalker, but I would suggest using your succubus. The VW will not hold any meaningful agro, and since the ogre's just gonna be running around all a'feared, the extra damage from the succubus will be more valuable.

Soloed as a 41 BM Hunter without kiting. Just let pet tank and he went down within a minute.

Note: This was done on the day patch 3.0 was released, so it is possible Mok'Morokk was nerfed or the 3.0 class changes made the fight easier. When I beat him, I didn't have an aspect on, and I didn't even use Hunter's Mark. Just Arcane / Serpent / Auto.

I thought it was pretty easy, I was a level 42 warlock at the time and i soloed it using fear and affliction spec, he went down easy, nothing but a big pushover.

I'm currently going back through to get achievements so I'm doing a lot of quests I skipped or omitted throughout my leveling career and I found a bug on this one. I'm a frost mage with decent gear, so obviously it's no problem: he went hostile, I novad and frostbolted him down to 1% health. 35k damage later, he's still at 1%. If you damage him too fast he apparently bugs out and will not run away. So for any higher level going back through, chip away at him instead of blowing him up. I ice lance spammed him until he went friendly again at 30%.

Easy solo, level 41 Enhancement Shaman in near-full blues, though. But, it'd be easy for any gear I'd wager.

Method: Use Frost Shock, make sure you have instant ghostwolf talent, and simply kite him around your searing totem. Takes a while, but I finished the fight near-OoM and at full health.

Mok bugs out if you burn him past 30% way too quickly (I mangle-crit him at level 80 all the way down to 1%.) Be sure to just poke him with a fishing pole or something if you're way overlevelled.

I tried this quest on a lvl 39 warlock a lvl 80 helped got him down to 1% hp and he was still hostile i couldnt kill him thn he killed me he was on 1hp. realy anoying

I tried to do this solo in level 41 hunter with a level 40 pet. I just made him attack my pet and healed the pet. It was a long battle and once he tried to come and hit me, but because of my new best friend, Feign Death, he changed his mind and attacked my pet again. Wasn't easy, but it's doable solo and him being three levels above you.

Soloed as a level 39 BM hunter with a gorilla pet. Was not fun -_- I Recommend having your pet have the 12% stam boost, point/points in blood of the rhino, and to stay in aspect of the viper. Keep mend pet up and if you pull agro kite him around until your pet can pull him off you. Use intimidation when ever possible. Oh, And i used beserking&rabid fire. So those helped alot in the start. Wasn't very hard but wasn't easy.

soloed as 42 enhance shammy, here was my strategy:

laid totems before talking to him using strength of earth, healing stream, windfury, searing down. lesser healing wave at 50-60%, healing wave below 30% (he does multiple stuns). keep stormstrike on him for earth shock spam. use a slower weapon that hits harder instead of 2 1 handers because you are most likely healing than dealing dmg. the 2 hander can hit him hard once (and maybe proc windfury) while u go back healing. a must is to keep water shield up so you have enough mana, if not, you can substitute mana spring instead of healing stream. I had to use 1 pot after he stunned me 3 times in a row. he was hard, but definitely soloable if you know what you are doing, took me 1 try.

Soloed as 46 Warlock. Voidwalker pet did a great job tanking him, but when I got aggro it got hairy. Used howling terror, Hearthstone, and a bandage. Reloaded all dots, and he started running right after he got back from being feared. I think he had around 2200 HPs when he ran off and started with around 7300. If my pet could have kept aggro he would have tanked it easily as he was only down about 20%. All my gear is quest/drop gear that I have got up to this level. 32/4/0 with lots of spell power. Edit: 6900 exp for the turn in to Draz'Zilb.

As a Druid; use Entangling roots and ranged attacks for as long as possible. When your out of mana and he braks free from Entangling roots, Natures grasp should do the trick. Switch to Cat (if 40%) or Bear (if 50%) or if you have Moonkin form (which you should be in already if you do) freely dps him down. I dont advise going in melee, unless your Cat/Bear form has significant dodge capabilities. Bring Bandages and Mana/Health Potions just in case you get unlucky with roots.

Soloed 42 frost mage.

From the start, keep manashield and ice barrier up with full mana. Get range and start frostbolting, when he is near to you frostnova and fb again. Let him break the shields while casting fb, blink reshield while running away (but with only barrier) and fb again, when he is near, frost nova, range and fb, FA if needed. And again and again. Dont forget to use gem and cold snap for 2x frost nova and ice barrier. U can also use IB for 10s, so u can wait, until frostnova is done on the cd.

This guy was a joke when I fought him just now as a 42 ret paladin with the heirloom shoulders, 2x heirloom trinket, and heirloom arcanite reaper with crusader.

1. HOJ
2. judge wisdom or light
3. art of war heal as soon as you've lost enough health
4. dps him till you start to get low using art of war heals if you crit judge
5. repent, heal full
6. judge out of repent, use the art of war heal once you've lost some health

I didn't have to bubble or heal myself at all outside of that, got him to 30% in about 20-30 seconds.

I did it with a 41 paladin ( Retri specced ).

Really easy. I just attacked him for a while. When i got low health i Repentanced him.

Healed myself. And when you use this spell the cooldown start. So I just waited for about 50 seconds then i started to attack again.

It's also easy to solo with a hunter or warlock.

Soloed it as a level 40 Elemental Shaman.

Stoneskin + Mana Spring + Searing + Windfury.

Kept Water Shield up at all times and Flame Shock dot at all times. Didn't waste any mana on lightning bolts, just auto-attacked with flametongue on.

He can stun you twice in a row so I kept myself above 50% hp.

People who are now saying this quest isn't hard to solo, note the dates on the posts you're refuting.

He's entirely soloable by a level 41 shadow priest by using the aforementioned method of kiting him using the wagon. Do make note that if you land on the wagon by jumping past it you may partially reset his health. That is of course, a Bad Thing™.

I should note that if you need some range to start with, accept the quest while mounted. Gives you a couple seconds to get distance.

lol... he's been glitching out for me. Tried this once or twice as a lvl 43 arms/fury hybrid. Soloed him just fine, until he glitched out after quest credit, and reset.

First time i tried, some 80 retadin came and tried to help. But glitched him to 1%, and he was just following lowbies around brackenwall. kinda funny.

But yeah, soloed with 43 arms/fury hybrid, stacked sunder, kept rend up, thunderclapped. Had to use a health pot, but definitely doable. If he resets on you, you'll still get quest credit afterwards. though depending on your class, you might die.

I just soloed this as a 45 Enhancement Shaman, one potion, and the herbalism skill Lifeblood, other than that it was totems and stormstrike. The stuns he does are very annoying as you cant do anything for the duration, and he does it a lot! But it is doable nonetheless.

Solo'd as a 45 holy priest, barely a challenge. Started mounted, ran to max range, holy fire. Then he stunned me for 5 seconds, psychic scream, pop flash heal (should have fully healed), renew and PW:S, holy fire and spam smite until he's dead. Never went below 80% health

Bug Workaround

This quest has a minor bug. If you hit Overlord Mok too hard he may not become "scared" and run away. Instead, his health will reduce to 1 and he'll never die. If this happens, you'll have to drop aggro or run away to get out of combat (or kite him to Orgimmar for a good laugh). If you are a high-level player trying to finish this quest, try killing him with white-damage only such as bare fists or wands. If you kill him slowly enough then it should work.

Obligatory hunter strategy post: did solo as a 46 BM hunter with a gorilla.

Sent in the ape, HM (have the glyph), Serpent Sting, then kept autoshot going, with an occasional Arcane Shot when not on CD. One Mend Pet (have glyph for that, too), till he ran off.

I hated this guy when I was a druid and priest, but hardly broke a sweat with a hunter.

Do not attempt to drain tank or VW tank this guy unless you're at or above his level as a warlock. Get to 41, and with sufficient hit, spam fear.

I did this as a level 43 Frost mage and only got hit once.

As soon as he attacked, I used Frost Nova and Blinked away. Started hitting him with Frostbolt and by they time he reached me Frost Nova was ready. Another Nova + Blink to get back at range and I cast Blizzard...twice! I'm so glad I put that one point into Improved Blizzard.

Tips for warriors:
42 Mostly Green/Heirloom Prot Spec
1 Attempt, accidental quest start, at 72% life

Had no problems opened with shield wall (mostly because I didnt mean to start the quest, good strategy though), rotated to block followed by last stand. He hits like a truck but so does a warrior. Just cycle CDs one at a time, he had me down to 40% when he ran away, no pots and not that difficult. Same goes for fury and arms, just use your shield wall based CD at an opportune time and this should be easy.

tried to solo him as a lvl 41 demonology lock. ive tried kiting and the wagon trick and everything. soulstone ressurection was useless 'cause by the time i got back his health had reset. died probably a dozen times now, i think the only thing i can do is either reset my talents or get a couple more lvls

Easily soloed as a 45 Ret Paladin. Simply casting Judgement of light/Exorcism, then healing myself when I'm at about 50%, and he went down like nothing. Only annoying part is the stun, but it doesn't last long enough for him to kill you if you have at least 50-60% health.

Solo'd as a 42 Destruction specced warlock. Was VERY close. I tried the trick, with my VW out, didn't want my VW tanking so I left it on passive and merely used it for the shield, which came in very handy. So I started back by the box you jump over, I Corruption/Curse of Agony/Immolated him and started jumping over the box, firing off Shadowbolts when I could. However, at about 60% he reset, so I thought, hmm, i'm dead.

I stopped kiting him, and waited for him to get around, feared, refreshed DoTs, next problem, OOM. Lifetapped which I thought would be suicide, but had no other choice, and popped the shield. He came running back at me at about 60% again, since I shadowbolted once or twice, tried for a deathcoil, missed, potted. OOM again, more lifetap, Feared, spammed shadowbolt for dear life along with Immolates and Conflags, as he got back to me on about 40%, the shield dropped. Hit me for a clean 400, 500 hp left, two lucky Shadowbolt crits later, I was thinking i'm dead, as he ran away like he should do leaving me on 200 ish hp with no pots left, or shield. :<

Higher level characters who do this quest beware - if you get his health down too fast he won't finish the quest but just keep aggroing you with 1 HP left!

Abandon the quest, run away til he resets, unequip your weapon, and bring him down with your fists. He will take a few minutes to respawn.

Just killed him on a 42 holy/discipline priest, had to keep shield up and flash heal alot, shadow word: pain and devouring plague probably did most of the damage. But just when I thought I was going to die he ran off :) fight took a minute at most.

Accidentally bugged him out after blasting him too fast on my 80 and was delighted to discover that at that pesky 1hp you can level your weapon skill on him. Hello all weapons at 400. He does do decent damage for a mob is level, so check back in every couple of minutes and bandage/heal if you need it.

Solo'd him as a level 44 shadow priest. No fancy kiting, started the fight in melee range and finished it there. By the end my mana reserves were pretty much empty, but my potions were off cooldown the whole fight. Popped 1 flash heal when things looked a little precarious, but probably didn't really need to.

Surprised by how smoothly it went. Fairly easy solo.

Soloed this as a level 44 combat specced Orc rogue. Stealthed as soon as I accepted the quest, hit him with cheap shot, and then popped Adrenaline Rush, Blade Flurry, and Blood Fury(Orc racial). After that I built up 5 combo points and used Rupture and then another 5 combo points and used kidney shot. Then I just hit Sinister Strike a few times to finish him off.

Solo'd as a 40 Hunter, pretty simple for a hunter with the new changes to cower; just keep mend pet up and cower every cooldown. FD to ensure your pet keeps aggro as there will likely be a lot of resists on growl. Just keep pushing damage on him; if you need mana turn on viper aspect.

Soloed as a lvl 43 Frost Mage. Kept my Ice Barrier up, when this was still on CD, I popped Mana Shield. then back to IB. I only used IB twice and MS once.. I just activated Ivy Veins and burned him to the ground. I didnt need to use my Lifeblood nor any of my lvl 35 healing potions. Very easy fight. Give it a shot.

Ok, so I did this quest a few minutes ago, and got him down, running away and out of sight from Brackenwall Village. However, once he was out of sight, my quest failed.

Most of the posts have shown that once you reduce him to 30-20 hit points, he merely runs off and your quest is completed. This was not the case for me. Any ideas?

A story about this quest, and the fun of kiting him to Org. :)

Doing Loremaster, I did this quest, killed him too fast, and got the bug. Well, I thought of this as the perfect chance to troll Orgrimmar, and I started kiting him to Org!

As a shadow priest, it took me about 90 minutes, and it was awesome when I got there. Everyone and their dog was attacking him, he was running everywhere, targeting everyone. Well after a very long fight over aggro, the group of people attacking him managed to kite him to Thrall. Thrall didn't do a damn thing, just stood there watching everyone in Org attack a simple ogre. So, everyone attacked for their weapon skill achievements.

Well, it seemed to be at the perfect time, because a group of Alliance doing For the Alliance was heading to Thralls chamber! At the time they arrived in Org, Mok'Morokk had been there for about an hour. Well, I'm sure you could imagine the Alliances face when they saw everybody in Org, low levels, 80s, all crowded around an ogre with 1 health. Everyone ran in, and as you can expect, got raped to death. It was great, the Alliance attacked just at the right time. There were bodies all around, most of them still not released, as they were watching just what the hell was going on. Our server is very Alliance populated, and For the Alliance raids are very common, and most of them are succesfull, but this raid was absolutely fantastic. Well, the ogre just stayed there, everyone still attacking him.

Another hour passed, and people were still there wailing on him. Numerous Knuckle Sandwich achievements went off, and people started getting bored of him. I Mind Controlled him to mess with people, but when the MC ended, he despawned. :(

About 30 mins. later, an Alliance raid attacked Org and killed Thrall. There was no ogre to protect Thrall this time!

Just thought I'd share this little story, as I was rolling on the floor laughing the whole time. Have a nice day! :)

Soloed just now as 41 Retribution Paladin with few points in Protection. Went into defensive mode (Seal of Light + Blessing of Wisdom + Judgement of Light and 1H+shield) and it worked, just had to heal quite frequently because I got crushing blows especially when stunned which reduced my life quite considerably and fast. At around 40% he got "scared" and started running away.

I ran into this bug as a Level 78 Warlock. I read the tips here and attempted to run away. Well, I ran across the entire zone and couldn't shake him. I even abandoned the quest when I reached the Quagmire. He never despawned, and never tethered. I had to hearth and fly back, which took half an hour since I'm hearthed in Dalaran. :(

I just submitted a screen shot of the Overlord at Lost Point, which is almost completely across the zone. I've submitted a bug report as well, not that it's going to help or anything...
