You are supposed to use an Apexis Shard (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32569) on a Apexis Relic, then you click the order the relic shows you, if you manage long enough you will recieve a buff, Apexis Vibrations, that gives 15% increased runspeed. If you manage even longer you will recieve an increased time in the same buff (2h) and it's called Apexis Emanations.

The next quest in the questline is to get an Emanation buff.

Note: Apexis Shards are dropped off the local creatures aswell as Apexis Shard formation that I guess miners will probably be able to detect.

Allright, there is a lot of confusion related to this so I will try to explain this quest for you all.

First off, you must gather one Apexis Shard (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32569). Then you need to locate an Apexis Monument. Around this monument, you will find 4 Apexis Relics. Go to one of them and stand on the white globe in the middle of the relic (Under the crystal). This way you will make sure you are in reach of all 4 buttons.

Click the Apexis Relic and you will be asked to use your Apexis Shard. After a few seconds a beam from the relic will hit one of the buttons around it. When the beam has hit a button, you simply push the button it hit.

Next level, the relic will hit two buttons. When that is done, you must push the buttons in the order the relic showed you. Continue this untill the quest is complete. I think it completed for me at level 5.

To make this easier, have a second computer with a text editor. Asign a number for each of the buttons from 1 to 4. I.e.: You get this order: 1, 1, 4, 3, 1, 2. Type this in your text editor while the beam hits. Relax, and push those buttons in WoW while you look at your text editor for the order. If you dont have a secondary computer, try a cell phone. I found it quite easy up to the 8 or 9 colour combos, but by then I had already got both buffs so it was ok.

Oh and if you don't have the Q to get the Emanation buff no need to waste time and get it anyways since you won't get credit for it when you get the Q but you have to do it again.

I used my mobile phone with this quest, and used the following numbers:

Up: 2
Right: 6
Down: 8
Left: 4

This way it is really easy, just focus on your screen and push the buttons on your telephone/calculator. I reached the 10th level by doing this, but then the respawn interrupted me.

Here is how i did it.

I made sure i had the 4 color nodes in a square.

Then i pressed "enter" to get my chat screen up.

Then i put my pinky finger on 1, my ring finger on 2, FU finger on 3 and "point" finger on 4.

Then i just made

top left=1
top right=2
bottom left=3
bottom right=4

Then when it started to get hard, i just typed the numbers as it went along, worked great!

This game is a variant of a handheld game called "Simon Says" The difference is that "Simon Says" would keep the same initial pattern and just add onto the end.

If you liked this, go pick one up from a toy shop. Tons of fun in long car rides and helps your brain :)

I used a peace of paper and wrote the numbers down. I'll probably upgrade to using a calculator to avoid getting my desktop all messy.

Regardless this game is almost impossible without some sort of aide unless you have an unnaturally strong memory.

Basically Simon Says, where the platform you activate has 4 different colors on each of its corners. Watch the lights shine on each color and then click on each color in the same order.

Each time you correctly match one, the next code is 1 color longer, with the 10th (last) being 10 digits long.

After 6 matches you get Apexis Vibrations, 15% run speed for 1 hour. 8 Matches will give you Apexis Emanations, same buff for 1.5hrs. 10 matches gives Apexis Enlightenment, 2hr buff. This buff lasts through death, works in all druid forms including stacking with Cat's 30% speed talent and Flight form. Very handy for the time it takes to get it, less than 5mins.

You can simply open a chat message window inside WoW and type the order in there, then read it when you match the code. If you stand in the middle of the 4 colors you shouldn't need to move at all, just use the mouse to click.

If you have the 2h buff before doing this for some reason, make sure you click it off. When you get to the part where it gives you the small buff, it actually acts like you did the sequence wrong and zaps you and you have to start over.

Don't stop trying if you get one item in the sequence wrong. You'll be punushed 2700 hps for your mistake, but you can still select the correct one and keep going.

It seems that this quest is very sensible to latency. For example this afternoon I was having more than 1500 ms and often the ray showed up simultaneously. So don't even try it while you have lag problems, it is just a waste of shards and time.

The trick to Simon Says games such as these is to remember the sequence as a musical tune. The mind is much more adept at remembering the appropriate repetitions in this way. Then you simply have to learn to match each note up with a color/position, so that your fingers fly to the correct button, much like playing an instrument by ear.

Or, you can get Ogri'Lazy. Slackers.

It took me a couple times to figure out what I was doing wrong, but I was going too fast. After you click on a bump, wait for the color zap to hit it before you go onto the next one in the sequence.

Latency breaks this minigame completely - the game will fail to register your clicks and kill you off repeatedly until you quit in disgust. If you have a slightly older computer, the lag renders this game impossible and Ogri'la faction is unobtainable until you get a new computer. If Blizzard had thought this through, they would have added a less hardware-dependent alternative way to open up this chunk of content.

Watch the sequence and then remember it. This is not hard at all and I wonder what all the stratagy is about.
This is too easy to be discussing.
Just say it in your head and repeat 4 seconds later, not hard at all.
Numbers and letters are over complicating the matter.

most people dont use ogri'lazy because they don't have the brain capacity to remember the sequence. They use it because most of the time, doing daily quests is very boring, and people cant be arsed to remember sequences, so the addon just makes it easier. I can remember the sequences no problem, but if there is an addon available that does it for you, then why do it yourself?

You use boss mods to remind you of the cooldown on boss abilities, what's the difference between that, and using ogri'lazy to remember a sequence of colors for you?

The moral of the story for the kids that try to be smart: Don't be a hypocrite.

Old fashioned memory works even better. All these posts had me totally confused as to what to do, but it turned out to be a much easier quest than you guys were making it out to be.

1) Farm a shard
2) Go to a relic
3) Click on the relic to use the shard
4) Follow the colour sequence by clicking
5) Repeat until you do a sequence of 6 colours

I am trying this quest now, with Patch 3.0.3 released, and I noticed it does not anymore requires 1 Apexis Shard.

Now it requires 35 Apexis Shards so to start it.

And if you stay in the middle globe, the 4 buttons are not reachable. You have to go close to them so to be able to press them. Thus, you get a debuff that slows your movement, making the time you need, to move from 1 button to another, longer.

As I figured out from several notes, you insert a shard into one of the four crystals around the edge of the big crystal, and then follow the pattern that it plays for you.

It's just pretty much WoW's version of Simon.

What do i offer to you:
Grab a sheet of paper and a pen/pencil, then write down the sequence of colors, (each new round there will be +1 new color in the sequence) it shows to you, using one first letter r(red), b(blue), g(green), y(yellow)
for example:
1) r
2) g b
3) y r y
4) g b g y
5) b b y y g
6) r b y g g g
7) b y b g r g y
8) r y y r b b g r

and just repeat it after the thing finishes the showing of the sequence.

Edit: If you are exalted with your keyboard, you can also use chat bar to type those sequences down :)

First I has to solo 4 gronns and an uber ogre, and now I have to farm shards to do this retarded game which I can't get to work! Are there any Orgi'la quests that AREN'T horrid?

Why do I even have to do this? Why does Khatie the SKYGUARD give a flying @&#$ what my Ogri'la rep is!

EDIT: It's official I can't get more Orgi'la rep. This quest is insane and I can't get anymore until I manage to do it. I'm done with the Skyguard too because only ONE daily quest for them isn't tied to Ogri'la.

this quest description is horrible. if you wanna save time from ciphering through these comments, just tab out and go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG_o_AiMDv0 and watch this quick vid. makes it simple. my only suggestion to add is before you start assign each button a number i,e, 1,2,3,4 or letter a,b,c,d whichever works best for you and don't try to remember it by picture just read the buttons label you assigned as you go and just click on the sequence accordingly

This is perhaps one of the harder quests in the game, especially if you're like me who doesn't have very good memory or hand-eye coordination sometimes, so that's why our brains make short-cuts. I think one/2 others may have had this info, but I find it would probably work better than using an electronic means. Problem with just whispering yourself is that you can't see the "tree" you make with the short-cuts you use. Problem with electonic means is that it would be difficult to make a diagram, at least if you forget a color, you can always look at what you just wrote, one of the advantages to writing things down.

It has been several months since I intially did this quest, but your sequence should look like a "tree" when you are done.
This is an example only:
Round 1: green (g)
Round 2: Green (g), Red (r)
Round 3: g,r, blue (blue)
Round 4: g,r,b, yellow (y)

You continue to do this up until 6-8 rounds, just do as many as you can, you've reach the max when you have two buffs, you can keep if you want, but I usually stop after the 2nd buff, just remember if you want to leave the game and miss the order, you will get zapped & lose quite a bit of your life, even at 80.

Basically, just get a sheet of real paper (yes, people still use that strange item LOL)... as the monument gives the sequence and dings, just write it down as it goes along the order . In this since, it is like Simon Says, but because the sequence keeps changing, and doesn't keep the original, it is slightly different (one of the things that confused me when I first attempted this quest).

Anyway, use short-cuts while writing these down, but try to write quickly, like R for red, G for green, Y for yellow, & I forget the last color, it was probably B for blue, it had been several months since I did this quest initially. If this is your first time trying, it may take you 3-5 times to get the hang of it, but don't give up hope.If you are doing Rep grind for Shatari, or just unlocking the bombing quest in blade's edge for the Christmas achievement, just keep the apexis shards you get, so you'll always have extra, if you want to do this quest.

I haven't tried the add-on for this quest, but I think this format is just as easy, but if others need to use an add-on for ease of use, that would be understandable (esp. if your hand cramps from writing or typing, there is a form of dyslexia that is so mild, you can only tell someone has it if their hand cramps when writing all the time, not all dyslexics get certain #'s mixed up, there is one form, that is almost undetectible except for the hand cramps).

Slight color/strobe caution: If you have a condition of migraines or headaches, it might be triggered by intense colors/lights, while WOW is graphically a pretty/bright colors, which is great, but some conditions can be triggered by intense things.

ok well some people didnt really point this out. YOU NEED TO BE IN BIRDS EYE VIEW FOR THIS TO WORK RIGHT. so shift the position of the camera so you see the top of your toon.

then its just like basic simon, rays will beam towards the colours and you can action on the outer four corners

for boneheads out there like me, u have to watch the line go out to a color then wait for it to ding then perform the color listed. also the pattern changes each time unlike the simon game which stays the same but adds on a different color each time.

It will cycle 6 times adding another stage each time, you have to watch the pattern it does, then click the corners of the thing your standing on in the same order. You might for example get

Red Beam..... so you click red.
Red Beam, Red Beam.... so click red twice.
Green Beam, Green Beam, Yellow Beam..... green, green yellow.
Blue Beam, Red Beam, Yellow Beam, Red Beam.... blue, red, yellow, red again.
Red Beam, Red Beam, Yellow Beam, Red Beam, Blue Beam... you get the idea.

Make sure you wait for the relic to finish its entire sequence before you click any colours.

Not that hard really, just say the colours out loud as the relic does them, then read them out again as you click them. Worked for me

My tip: have the sound on. Besides the fact that remembrance is supposed to be enhanced by how many of your senses you connect to the thing you're remembering, sometimes when one colour is lit up more than once it can be very difficult to tell how many times you need to press it without the sound. It'll ding for each time you need to click.

I read through every single comment here and still couldn't figure this out. I didn't understand what on Earth people meant when they said "click the button", "click the crystal", "click the bubble" or "press the correct number".

To start with, position yourself at one of the smaller floating crystals. Rotate your camera so you are looking straight down, zoom in, and move your pet off to one side.

You will see that each of the smaller floating crystals has a large bubble in the center directly under the crystal and four smaller bubbles that form the corners of a square. These smaller bubbles are what you click. They are initially all white, but when you right-click the smaller crystal and activate it they turn faint shades of yellow, red, blue and green. The crystal will make some sounds and flash, then the center bubble will generate a colored spark to the smaller bubble of the same color. You right-click the smaller bubble that the spark goes to, it plays a happy sound, then it starts a second sequence.

The Ogri'Lazy addon is helpful because you can use hotkeys to record the order of the sparks then go back through and click them. Note that you still have to click on the bubbles on the ground. The shortcut keys or macros are only for Ogri'Lazy or whatever other method people are using to keep track of the order. Those do not have anything at all to do with completing the quest.

As a side note, while this is clearly inspired from the old Simon game, it has a significant difference: the pattern resets every time. If Simon started with Yellow, the first color for the rest of your game is Yellow. In this quest the sequence could start with Blue, then the second iteration could start with Yellow. If you were expecting it to build on itself you're in for a surprise.

It's a hard thing to do. You need time and you have to be relaxed. Don't let anything distract you. Belive me it hurts (mostly the char feels it when you fail). I tried to type the combinations on the mobile phone (using the numbers and where they are). Good luck!

I found it easier to not try to do this one by color, but instead by direction (N-S-E-W, compass style). I just rotated the camera so the crystals resembled a compass and just repeated the sequence of N, S, E, or W depending on what was zapped. Hope this works for someone else.

Although people have listed ways to memorize the patterns to complete this quest, nobody has said where to DO it. So... After you insert the Apexis Shard into the Apexis Relic (the small ones located around the big Apexis Monument) you will eed to stay there. A beam will go from the Apexis Relic into one of the four surrounding little white bubbles. After you click the bubble the platform will light up signaling that you have completed that level of the "game". You do not have to keep feeding the machine Apexis Shards, just keep watching. The second level of the game will begin and this time tehre will be two beams. Click the bubbles that the beams went to in the order they came out and you have completed level two. Continue doing this until you get the "Apexis Vibrations attained" which is after level 6. Remember, stay at the Apexis Relic and click the bubbles in order! This quest is fairly simple if you have every played the game "Simon Says" and you are good at remember things. :) Hope this helped. Happy Hunting!

I just completed this quest chain. My recommendation is that you either list the colors as they appear using just the letters, or their position.. Or, you can list the order of occurrence by either position or color. You will still need to be fast though.

One thing that may have been left fuzzy and/or unclear...
the sequence will be presented in a turn based manner...
it will do it's "Turn" and present "instructions" as patterns or color...
then it will allow you to repeat the pattern on your turn...
It's Turn: Red (PAUSE) Your Turn: You press/click Red
It's Turn: Yellow, Blue (PAUSE) Your Turn: You press/click Yellow, Blue...

do not try to click the colors as it shows them, you will fail/get zapped...
take turns with it....

hope this helps to stem the "I'm Clicking what it did and getting zapped/not working for me..." comments...

This is a very frustrating quest, but i another user explained that to do it you have to look down on one of the outer crystals. pic one of the smaller crystals and ignore all the other crystals, I would recommend standing right in the middle as other uses have stated and pan the camera down. Align it so that there is one of the corners of the square so it is straight is in diamond form on your screen, then insert the apexis crystal. A stream of light will point to one of the corners of the diamond and then another stream of light will point to another corner. After the stream of lights are done, then you just click in the order the lights went. It can be frustrating but keep at it and you will get it.

This is an okay explanation. But, it didn't make sense for me. I downloaded the Ogri'lazy addon, but that didn't work either. What worked is to orient the view as recommended and by just watching the correct sequence I used the mouse to click on each node in the correct. I did NOT write anything nor did I use a cell phone or any keyboard buttons. I just used the mouse to click on the nodes.

I just figured out what I was doing wrong.

Take the one in Blade's Edge at 33.43, 51.84 as an example. If you go to those coordinates, it will be the largest platform with the largest of the crystals there. This one is surrounded by 4 smaller platforms and crystals.

All this time, I had thought the quest was supposed to be done on the largest (center) crystal platform. It seems its not.

If you do it on one of the smaller platforms, you won't have to move your character, only your mouse.

I completed this quest on my 2nd try.

I am sorry, but this quest must be bugged. I get half way through it without getting zapped, then the crystal "powers down" and I cannot continue. I have attempted this quest at least 25 times and the crystal always powers down without letting me complete it. Has anyone else had this issue?

I just completed this quest. I tried to use the add-on another suggested Ogri'lazy. It didn't not work; it kept saying need to bind when I tried it didn't work. There are 6 rotations, I used a pen and paper.

I just completed this quest on the first try after reading all the wowhead comments. It's honestly just like the game Simon. Just have your volume up and watch which crystals the main crystals zap and copy it. It's really quite simple. Do not pay attention to the color the main crystal changes to because it will confuse you and you will end up failing the quest.

This quest made me want to jump off a bridge. But I finally did it with the help of Ogri'lazy (THANK YOU) .. for those of us who never did play those Simon type games when we were little (and yes, there are some of us) ... don't try to click while it's showing the sequence, you'll get totally missed up. Wait for the sequence to stop ... then duplicate it.

This quest was annoying, however do as other have suggested and use one of the smaller crystals, stand in the middle, and use the camera to pan your view where you are looking down from at yourself. It is very much like "Simon Says" electronic game where you click on the sequence of colors. Basically, you follow the sequence of the beam of light. My only suggestion is that maybe you might want to write down the sequence on paper. If you choose the wrong sequence, it will zap your health. An example is that my sequence was, B/BB/RRY/GRYY/BBBRB/BYYGBY. Yes. I wrote it down, and it made it easier, faster, and less annoying. You do have time to write it down, and then click on the sequence. After all of it....it was actually an easy quest that I over complicated, and waisted 20 shards on. :)

I'm adding my explanation to quite a lengthy list, but hopefully it will be useful and I will try to pull together some of the useful points others have made.

1. To start, go to around (33,51) where one of the Apexis Monuments stands. You'll see a big shard in the middle, with four other shards around the edges.

2. Choose any one of the four shards around the edges and clear any nearby mobs. Kite them slightly away from the shard so their corpse doesn't get in the way of your view during the 'game'.

3. Stand on the shard and adjust your camera so you're looking straight down. Around the edge of the shard's platform (right by your feet) are four white circles. These will be what you click during the game. Decide for yourself on a numbering system for these. For example, I decided on top left = 1, top right = 2, bottom right = 3, bottom left = 4.

4. Read the rest of this guide before starting, so you know what to expect. But when you're ready, click the shard to begin.

5. First of all I am going to say forget about the colours, and forget about the large shard in the middle. Just focus on the smaller shard you're standing on, and the four white circles.

6. The first thing that's going to happen is a beam of light will appear between your shard and one of the four little circles that you've numbered 1 to 4. That is the opponent having his first turn. All you need to do, to take your turn, is to click on that same circle.

7. Now the opponent will take its next turn. This time it's going to send a beam of light to one of the circles, and then another beam of light to another circle. Note that it might choose the same circle twice, so watch carefully. You'll hear an accompanying buzz each time as well if your sound is turned on. When it has done BOTH beams, it is your turn to click those same circles, in the same order. You'll see that you also create beams when you click.

8. Each turn from now on will see the opponent doing an additional beam, so the third time it will do three beams, the fourth time it will do four beams and finally...... five beams.

If your short-term memory is good, then again just repeat what it is doing. If your short-term memory is bad, then this is where your numbering system comes in useful...

Grab a pen and paper and write down the sequence that your opponent has done. For example if he beams the top left circle twice and then the bottom right, you'll write down 1-1-3. (assuming you're using my numbering system). Always WAIT until the opponent has completed all his beams. You'll need to remember what round you're on (e.g. I am now on the round where he will do three). You have plenty of time to then click your circles and create the beams of your own.

9. Once you've successfully repeated the sequence of five, your quest is complete. When you hand it in you will be given a Daily Quest to go and play again. Note that on the daily you will need to do eight rounds. So if you were feeling smug about being able to remember five numbers without pen and paper..... I'd grab that pen and paper now ;)

10. While the daily does not count towards the Loremaster achievement for this zone, it does award 15 Apexis Shards, so will save you a few minutes of farming for one of your other quests in the Loremaster chain. Assuming you succeed within the first 14 attempts that is.

Aside: I actually failed the daily the first time because instead of a 1-4 numbering system I'd used North East South West (as suggested by someone else in this thread). Unfortunately my writing is terrible and I couldn't tell whether I had written W or N lol.

If your memory isn't good enough, numeric keyboard is your friend. Just watch your char from the top, open chat window and type 2,4,6,8 for S,W,E,N directions... then you can easily repeat the sentence no matter how long is it.

LOOK AT WHERE THE SMOKE IS GOING, NOT THE COLOR OF THE CRYSTAL IN THE MIDDLE. Bring your camera angle over the top of the crystal so you're looking straight down at it, watch where the smoke goes, click that. Sequence will increase in number from 1 the first time, 2 lines the second, etc. So much easier. Don't write anything down, no addon needed. Just watch the lines.

This is a modified "Simon Says" (Not sure if anyone plays that anymore...).

Anyway I didn't look at what color was being activated. Instead I put one of the mini-crystals (buttons as the first poster called it...) toward the top of my screen. That became the "Top" with the others becoming the Left, Right and Bottom respectively. As the beam struck each crystal I wrote the pattern (T, B, L, R, etc) on a piece of paper to ensure accuracy, and then selected the corresponding pattern on screen. Lot's of frustration avoided!

This thread helped me a lot, so I want to say thank you to everyone who has posted.

The easiest way I found was to put yourself underneath the crystal looking down from above so that it looks like a plus sign. Once you have clicked on the crystal and gave it the shard, the crystal will then shoot out a beam to a certain point either at the top to the left or right or to the bottom. Have a piece of paper and pen ready and jot down which direction the beams go. For example the first cycle was: Right, then the second cycle was; Up, Up and the third cycle was Right, Down, Up, and so on.

After reading all of these comments I get the impression that doing this quest as a L79 hunter, is like being offered a dollar to lick razor blades. Abandoning. Discouraged. Gin and tonic is next.

Just want to say I read every comment on this quest and did everything advised and still can't get credit. The last attempt, I'm 300% sure I did it right. Blizzard's GMs are useless as always. Just a shame since this is the only thing stopping me from being able to do Loremasters.

Basically you stand below the Relic and give it a shard ( done thru dialogue). I recommend that you change your view to top down so you can see the the Relic and the 4 crystals around it. watch where the relic fires "lightning" and then match the pattern. For those old enough to remember it- you're playing a game of 'SIMON'

For me this quest broke after the first time i completed it. Now when I get to the 5th stage it makes a sound like i'm opening something and then fails.

I have tried now 7 times. If I do manage to do it I will update this. I dont think I will.

I will contact a GM to see if they can help

I completed this today. Took me five tries, so it is working. Even though some tries it felt like the quest it broken because I'm pretty sure I clicked the right ones as the crystal showed! One of the uploaded videos helped me to understand how this works as I've never done it before.

Still working. Stand in the middle of the platform so the buttons line up like this:

O ___ O

O ___ O

Moving clockwise from top left, assign the numbers 1 through 4.

You should be able to get through the first few steps without having to write anything down. Wait until the sequence finishes and then start clicking. Be patient. It won't time out within a second or two but don't take 5 either.

When it starts getting more complicated, grab your pen and paper. You can write numbers down without looking at the paper. Just record the sequence and click them back in when it's done.

A lot of long comments confused me here. Basically, what you need to do -

1) go to 31,61,
2) activate a small crystal
3) repeat after it, as it activates small orbs around itself in sequences. *** Important *** - start repeating once the sequence is done. First sequence is just one orb, then two, then three etc.

What helped me personally is mentally marking each orb a number, like a clock only 4 hours - 1,2,3,4. I would then just speak aloud the sequence of numbers or even wrote them down as sequence got longer.

Long ago a now-extinct sect of the arakkoa known as the Apexis lived here. Remnants of their civilization are still present. We call them apexis relics.

What we know about them is that, when properly used, they grant a boon. Each relic presents a colored sequence which, when the crystals are pressed in the correct order, leads through a series of levels, each harder than the last.

An apexis shard is needed to power the relic. Return when you have attained the insight of the apexis vibration.
