You can use the gun anywhere, as long as you've got the Path of Conquest discovered. I found the place and got swarmed by the blood elves, but I used the flare gun at the graveyard and it still completed properly.

if you have a flying mount, this is even easier. i flew over 51, 62 and completed the quest, then found a clear spot to land and used the flare.

Even if you have discovered the area, you need to fly around until it shows the "completed" before using the flare gun. As mentioned before, any safe spot in the area will work.

Okay, at level 70, and with a flying mount this is soloable. Just fly to the co-ords above, get the message that you have discovered the path, then land, use the flare gun, speak to the rider, then get the next quest. Easy :)

If you have a flying mount of any type (even the slow one), fly to (50,62) and even while in the air you will discover the area you need to complete the quest without even dismounting.

As a Paladin, I found the Path of Conquest accidentally whilst wandering, and was swamped by mobs. I bubbled up and hearthstoned but I'd 'discovered' the area in the process. I was able to simply fire the flare gun whilst at Wildhammer Stronghold and then complete the quest.

as a rouge is this easy as cake. you just have to stealth in and if you get detect vanish did it at 52.58

I was having trouble soloing this one because I couldn't get past all the mobs. Then I discovered that at 50, 62, above the path with all the mobs, the quest completes. The only mobs here are dragonhawks, and no flying mount required.

Glow has it right 51,58, got the discovered part then I found a safe spot to land used the FLare gun and job done... Easy to do if you can fly it.

You need to get a message that says "Path of Conquest Discovered (Complete)" before you can complete the quest, otherwise the gryphon rider will just have a gray question mark above his head when you call him. Flying down the path a little ways at low altitude did the trick for me.

As of patch 4.0.6 the correct location to discover "The Path of Conquest" while flying is 53.76/67.69. Do not let Blizzards marker mislead you.

Just an observation. I got killed as the gryphon came down and noticed the flare gun was gone from the quest on the objectives drop-down. I paniced wondering how I was going to find him again. I saw the question mark, but no dwarf. The dwarf didn't offer it in camp. Turns out the flare gun is still in inventory and everything was good.

Many Group quests in Outland and Northrend have been re-tuned to allow players to complete them solo. They are no longer labeled as Group quests.

This, unfortunately, does not apply to this quest.. This quest and those within the chain are all still labeled as group quests requiring 3 or more players.

This quest doesn't appear to have a pre-requisite. I was looking all over to see how I could start the chain at 67 but nada. As soon as I hit 68, the questgiver had it for me.

I flew my flying mount just above the gate to the Path, got a complete. As I got to the mountains behind the Crimson Watch; at the end of the trail; I shot off the gun, got the new quest and started down hill killing the things I needed. You don't get mobbed, if you start at the top.

Lvl 90 rogue here, for some reason I don't have the flare gun, neither the option to get a new one. Anyone knows what to do?

As a level 90 hunter, I am going for Loremaster. Went here to do this quest, was very easy. Once I completed the first step, then the second, I just started killing anything that moves. A quest called "The Journal of Val'zareq" dropped from one of the mobs, so this is well worth just sticking around and f*cking off killin chit.

New bug with this quest as of March 2014. I can not get the gun from the quest giver. I get the quest but no flare gun is deposited into my bags. The quest is easy to do, but I can not turn it in.

Edit: After repeatedly abandoning and reacquiring the quest, I discovered that you can ask him for a new flare gun without abandoning it. Then the gun finally went into my bags.

1. The Path of Conquest
• Accept the quest, The Path of Conquest, from Thane Yoregar at coords 36.2, 56.8 (Wildhammer Stronghold).
• Travel southeast, to the Path of Conquest, to coords 51.0, 62.0.
• Use the Wildhammer Flare Gun, you were provided, to summon a Wildhammer Gryphon Rider.
• Turn in the quest to the Wildhammer Gryphon Rider.

не знаю, ни пешком, ни на маунте, в разных местах пути завоевания, кнопка продолжить у всадника остается неактивной. Может дело в том, что задание групповое, а я выполнял соло.

Be aware that if you use the flare gun and the NPC gets attacked, she'll fly away and tell you to contact her when you're at a safe location. You'll have to wait 2 minutes to re-summon her. This means make sure there's no enemy NPCs around when you use it.

Be careful where you summon this stupid %^&*!@#. They come down from the sky on a diagonal path, aggroing as many enemies as they can find before telling you off and leaving you to deal with their mess.

Since this quest bugs a lot of times and you can't get the flare gun, I came up with a plan and it worked! So basically if you have a friend that can pick up the item, he can call the gest giver to return it for you.
So if you don't have friends, like me, you hop to your character and queue up in premade groups, then hop to an alt that can with luck can get the quest item. After that with the second character after you get the flare gun, you enlist the group and hop onto your first character again. You accept the second character into the group and go to the location where you can turn in the quest. Hop back to your second character and accept the invite, after that you go to the turn in location, and here comes the tricky part.
After all that with your second character you use your flare gun and immideatly after that, you alt+f4 and open the game to hop to your first character and boom, you turn in the quest!

Description

My gryphon riders have come back with a bit of news! The Eclipsion blood elves are planning something big. They've begun forming their armies at the Path of Conquest, located east of here - adjacent to Eclipse Point.

I want you to travel to the Path of Conquest and assess the situation. Once you've done so, use this flare gun to signal a gryphon rider. One will swoop down from the sky to meet you. Tell 'em what you've discovered and they'll give you the next set of orders.
