The Netherock Crumblers actually spawn from Netherock's body as you damage him, much like the Raging Colossus's in Hellfire Peninsula, so don't let the crumblers locations on the map confuse you. He was about the same difficulty level as a Colossus, relative to level while in Hellfire.

Not solo-able for a shaman with some CD's... he Hits for 600 and adds all around him so its hard to get into him.. Got alot of HP so don't try him at lvl 67 :

As a mage he is immune to frost nova and other slowing effects.
Split up the agro between yourself and your elemental and slowly drop him bandage evocation when necesary, soloable.

I'm a Druid lvl 69.

Very easy solo-able...
I Used Stun and heal me, if you don't heal, use bandage...

The netherock is around, 25,60.

You atack, and he sommun you minions in 80%, 50% and 30% of life...

Soloed as a 70 hunter. He pats all the way around to the west of Manaforge B'Naar, so you can catch him there and kite him around to the road. Only tricky part is getting by the phase hunters, but that wasn't too bad only aggroed one and just hit scatter shot on it and kept running. The crumblers just kind of stayed where they were when they spawned, so I ran back and killed them after the kite.

Solo'd him as a 70 druid, don't get frustrated with the locations, this is the type of mob that roams, so if you don't find it there just move around, he's a big big huge elite rock guy.

Very easy to take down. We also only got 2 crumblers, though. We tried to get him to reset so we could get some more crumblers out of him, but a "helpful" player came along and finished him off for us. :p

Easily Solable as a 70 Holy Paladin

Judge Wisdom and Seal Wisdom. Ignore the boss when his adds pop. The are priority. Keep Wis judged on the add, and have Seal of Wisdom up as well. Once the add is down go back to him.

Repeat until victory.

Soloed as a lvl 70 Afflication Warlock. A bit tricky, but i made it on first try. Used one HS and one manapotion.

Sent in void and let him buid aggro pretty long. Casted dots and health funel on Void, health funel heals for more then he gets damaged. When the crumblers spawn, they will eventually aggro you due to your healing. Dot them and keep helath funnel up. If you get more than one crumbler on you, try to HoT them away.

As a 70 Shaman:

Set up:
- Grace of Air
- Mana Spring
- (Fire Totem) take your pick
- Drink to fill mana

Pulled Apex onto the road - he pats pretty close to it, so this part is trivial. I then engaged him and dropped earth elemental totem. I'm full enhancement (15 resto) so I pretty much reserved all mana for healing of the earth elemental. I started Shamanistic Rage fairly early. Heroism was down at the time so this was not employed. The tactic is just to depend on your WF proc and keep the elemental healed - bandage yourself if needed and keep the mana spring up. At about 5-7% the 2 minutes on the elemental will be destroyed - feel free to finish him off. Or, if you're well geared, you probably already killed him.

** Of note: I did not need to pot this entire time. If you reserve your heals and use them smartly, this fight is slow and relaxed. I found a quick stormstrike/earth shock combo to be pretty much enough to finish off the adds. With the mana gained from m-spring/SR you should be doing fine. Not easily soloable, but doable if you're smart

Found him at 27,81. He hits pretty soft for his level. Spawns crumblers midway into the fight. My party killed him twice; the first time he only spawned 2 crumblers. Respawn time is rather long.

I had to fight him two times because the first time we only had 2 crumblers spawn (duoed with myself-68 ret pally-and a 68 rogue). The second time we fought him it was much quicker than the first time and he only spawned 1 crumbler. It may be that he spawns them based on how long you take to kill him, rather than at set percentages.

Solo'ed as 70 sword Rogue. Open with Cheap Shot and pop Adrenaline Rush immediately. You will have 5 combo points at about the time he comes out of stun. Hit kidney shot and he's stunned for another 6 seconds. Hit vanish when he wakes up and immediately Cheap Shot him again. By now he easily should have less than half his life left. When comes awake again, wait for a Crumbler to spawn, hit Evasion and Blade Flurry. Boss should be dead before Blade Flurry wears so you can continue to burn through the Crumblers.

Soloed as a 70 Fury Warrior.

I engaged him with full HP and rage (fight some adds to build up rage then eat). Then I popped one of my +atk power trinkets at the start of the fight. As the little adds spawn, Netherock gets weaker. When 2 adds were up, I used Intimidating Shout and popped my second +atk power trinket. I saved up a lot of rage for a massive execute, but I think it took 2 or 3 of them to finally kill him. After that, I ran away from the adds.

To get the rest of the adds for the quest, I found him again later and just killed the one that spawns at 80%.

Just soloed this Netherock guy, few mins ago.
im a hunter, quit easy for me. but you should know im also, almost fully epic geared, and the mend pet from Patch is really great when you wanna solo elites and hunter :o)
and the add, i froze 1 and had the other 2 on my pet and then i killed those after netherock.

Soloed as 70 BM hunter. I put my pig on Netherock and DPSed him until first Crumbler spawned. Sent pig on crumbler, killed it and switched back to Netherock. Rinse and repeat till dead.

Just EASILY solo'd as a 70 affliction warlock. Let the VW cast Torment twice to build up a decent amount of agro. Then I put up all of my dots.... by the time all of them were up (including Unstable Affliction and Immolate) my VW was down to about 4k health... so I started health funneling. By the time I pulled agro from the VW, Netherock was down to about 70%. I drain tanked him to about 40% without losing hardly any HP (he was hitting for about 1200 but it was slow and my drain life ticks for about 400). The he started shrinking and it was even easier from there.

Edit: Apparently, if he's stunned during the trigger to summon crumblers he doesn't summon it. :(

The add spawning does NOT seem to be based on his health - I got more than three when soloing a long time ago, and only got two when I did him with three other people and Nethrock got nuked down too fast.

solo'd as a 68 Demo lock....ez, just Dot, shadowbolt, let first Mob smack on you, make sure Felguard keeps all aggro of nether, when 2nd crumbler falls, fear it, dot, re-dot Nether, when third falls, Howl, soulfire and u win...most likely, you will die from the Crumblers afterwards, but just s/s ur self, and you're good...i didnt die, but my buddie did when he tried it solo'd at 67....yeap...kinda simple...took me from 8500 life to around 1000 life after letting the mobs just pound on me while i heal'd felguard/ kept dots up...even more simple for BM hunters =/

very easy to solo as a 70 shadow priest, I didnt even clear the area first. I basically cast mind blast to get some starting damage in, then SW:P VE and VT - bubble, run for your life, reapply DoTs as required, and I threw in my Devouring Plague (undead only) mid fight when I got down to about 70% health. I basically just kited him around while avoiding all other mobs in the area, although its possible I just got lucky with the other mobs locations at the time...

Finished fight with 85% health and 30% mana.

edit: Netherrock is immune to fear.

30,80 is a good coord for him. I was able to solo at 69 as a MM hunter. Every 1/3 of damage or so he breaks down and a second mob jumps out of him. I would feign death for a few seconds and the second mob would fade so I could jump up and continue shooting. Pretty simple so long as you have a clear area to fight him in.

LvL 70 Prot warrior soloed with ease. Needed 1 Int Shout and bandage. Do it in defensive stance and keep shield block up the whole fight. Devastate and Revenge FTW.

solo'd as a 70 combat swords rogue. opened with cheap shot, followed with one evasion, then popped abacus of violent odds trinket, slice & dice, and blade fury. got him down to 50% without any health lost. build up points then kidney shot. easy kill (mind you I cleared some of the area while I was looking for him).

Did this on my own, post 2.4 at 20,77. Concentrated on killing the main and did the two adds when I'd killed it. Only one mana potion needed. Resto specced shaman.

Just did this as a 68 MM (0/43/16) hunter. Definitely wasn't an easy battle, but after a couple tries I got him down. Here's what you do:

Wait for him to patrol to an area where you're sure you won't get any adds. Start out with Aspect of the Hawk and make sure Hunter's Mark and Trueshot Aura are up. Pull him with Scorpid Sting (and keep it refreshed!), and sick your pet on him. Mend Pet immediately. Let your pet gain aggro for the full duration of the first Mend Pet while you do nothing. After you refresh Mend Pet, pop Rapid Fire and Blood Fury/trinket and go all out, pumping out as much burst DPS as possible. You'll gain aggro near the end of the Rapid Fire cooldown. When you gain aggro, pop Deterrence and take the beating, while Mend Pet heals your pet back to full. As soon as your pet is healed, pop Feign Death, make sure Mend Pet is refreshed, and bandage yourself up. Back up and place a Freezing Trap (to take care of the first rock add), then begin to go all out again, pumping out as much burst as possible (this time without cooldowns) and keeping Mend Pet refreshed. Stick more to instant-shots when you get rock adds.

I died at the same time he did, but I got it done. Without Scorpid Sting up, I died while he was at 5%; that extra miss chance makes the battle if you aren't running great gear.

Just solo'ed as lv68 Prot Pally.

Best place I found to fight is just east of the Heap. Drop off at your back and the area is easily cleared around you.

He doesn't hit hard or have any notable specials.

I used HoJ at 80% to avoid his first add and just focused on killing him quick. SoV stacked easily so wasn't hard to muscle him down. Used a health pot and bubble-bandage but even with the 2 extra ramblers that decided to join in towards the end I still had LoH's available after the fight.

Solo'd as 68 Affl Lock (have Imp HS). Have a potion and HS handy. Summon Voidwalker, send him in, keep up SL, and Health funnel. For the crumblers, dot and drain but keep an eye on VW health. My VW got as low as 600 but I could out-heal Netherock's DPS. I popped HS and pot on first crumbler.

I definitely wouldn't do this on a PvP server if other faction is around.

Soloed as a 70 ret paladin by kiting him to Area 52. He moves just a hair slower than 3/3 Pursuit of Justice, so you can run and judge to keep him from leashing on the way to town. Once there, kite in circles using the bridges, or BoP and let the guards finish him (granted you've done enough damage to get credit). Could probably be done as soon as the quest is available.

Soloed as a 68 feral druid. Started in cat form. Got 5 cp and did a rip then 2-3 more cp for a fericous bite. Then i changed to caster form barkskin, LB, rev, and regrowth up then went bear. Kept lacerate and rorar up and just Frenzy regeneration. I ignored the adds and just focused him,

used a nightmare seed at about 20% and put new hots up, then changed to bear and when nightmare seed went he was on 4% with 5 lacerate on and i changed to travel and was hit to 1% hp really as soon the seed went out.

then ran around waiting for him to die. Was hit by his adds the second he died of lacerate. I consider myself lucky :)

68 ret pally solo'ed him. i kept attack him till he got me to about 500hp then bubbled used mana pot, healed myself to full.Kept attacking got me down to about 100hp and lay on hands myself and i killed him.

Easily soloed as a 68 prot pally. Use blessing of sanc for mana, light for healing, and just shield/consecrate/whatever else you want him to death. finished with 6k health (out of 9.3)

Managed to solo as 69 aff warlock. Had void walker(coulent really hold aggro anyway) and i tag'n'draged him. Found that pulling him around should save u from the spawns. Yet still, U might aggro some orther creatures.

Relatively easy to solo as a level 69 fire mage. The crumblers (spawned adds) are not stunnable but they can be frozen, and you don't need to kill them to finish the quest.

Probably hard to solo before your mana gem is upgraded to emerald, as you will almost certainly run out of mana during the fight, even using evocation.

Probably trivial at level 70 with good (outland epic / northrend rare) gear.

I'm painfully confused here. I'm wanting to do this on my level 80 main, so as to achieve the NS quest achievement... It SAYS above that this is a quest for both sides. However, the two wanted posters that GIVE the quest are both in Alliance controlled areas and they aren't even active per the yellow exclamation point. Any ideas?

Very easy to solo as a lvl 67 frost dk. Just cast raise dead before the battle and when you get low life just use death pact i used one pot just ignore the adds until he is dead.

I had trouble finding Netherock at first.
Don't go after the map indication, go to the southern parts and you will soon find Netherock, you don't need to summon him or so, just head south instead of south-west.
Soloed him as a level 70 Fury Warrior so if you are the same you won't need other people with you.

Soloed as a Lvl 67 Protection Paladin.
Not hard at all, just fight in a safe area so no other mobs come and mess up, kill the small mobs that spawn/fall off from Netherock every time that happens.
(3 times I think.)
Have one Mana potion ready and you should be all set.

Easily did it with a 68 frostmage.

Just summon water elemental and let him throw 2-3 waterbolts then pop icy veins and start casting frostbolts. When he spawns the small mobs just frost them first with your water elemental, when the next one spawns use your frost nova.. when netherrocks dead just use blizzard on the freezed small mobs. Took about 25-30 seconds.

Level 67 Fury Warrior, If you're having issues as a Fury Warrior follow my little "guide".

1) Aggro Netherock
2) DPS as normal
3) When he summons and add kill it ASAP
4) Victory Rush Netherock
5) Repeat step 3 - 4 until you're able to execute spam.

PS: The talent "Die by the sword" is extremely helpful in these types of quests.

Soloed fairly easily as an elemental shaman as of patch 4.0.3.
Didnt even bother clearing adds. Used Earth Elemental, Searing, Mana Spring and Wrath of Air totems, guess if I'd used fire elem it would be even better. Chain Lightning, Flame Shock, Lava surge, spam Lightning Bolt till' adds spawn or surge is off cd, Chain Lightning when spawns appear.. Heal whenever needed. Popped Thunderstorm and Elem Mastery at second add.
I ended up pretty oom, but taking in mind I had two extra adds on me (>.>)...
Just spam the idiot and pretty much ignore adds.. Even if you die after he's down you get the credit to finish the quest.

Edit: Facepalm, forgot my level. 67. About 7,7k hp unbuffed and restogear mostly.

Keep looking throughout the southern edge. You'll eventually see Netherock, who is hard to miss.

I had serious difficulty soloing him as a level 67 Destruction Warlock, because a bunch of other monsters near him would spring out.

I eventually killed him after the 4th time, but died again.

Suggestion: Clear the ENTIRE area before attacking

Solo'd lvl 70 Hunter. Fairly easy. He summons a good 3 times and if you feign death, they aggro back fairly quick after you rez. Thus, have to get the pet to aggro the adds and finish them quick while Healing pet. Then, get back to Netherock. Pet still had plenty of health at finish.

Soloable by a prot warrior.
Just pop up all of you health increase and shield block spells.
With the adds that join, kill them for the Victory Rush and you should kill him easily.

Was lookin for him for the 2d time n found him again. 1st time just as I was gonna smoosh him he faded. Waited for 15mins n no show so figd I would get another time. This time (67 NE Warrior solo) I popped my adds as I was flyin at him. Flew into him, dropped my gryph n started swingin b4 he new I was there. Hit him with stun, revenge, devistate, shield slam n got the victory rush but since I was in his body I didnt and couldn't see the kids he dropped who were kickin my butt. Noticed I was gettin low health, so shadow melded n it was over. What a trip to fly into somethin as big as this guy and drop n swing blind. Didn't take but 10 or so secs. Good rush!

Easily soloed him as lvl67 Destro Warlock.
Just follow the path near edge of netherstorm and you can't miss him.
You can also use macro /target Netherock if you can't find him.

Used pet Imp. Soulburn > Instant Soul Fire > Immolate > Conflagarate > 3x Incinerate. Repeat from Immolate again. Just ignore the adds he spawns, and make sure you have a ready healthstone before the battle. You might even won't use it, but just in case. Your damage should be high enough to down him quickly.

This gut pissed me off with his shardlings. I was perfectly soloing him then he spawned 4 shardlings and 2 additional mobs came. Killed him and died.

Don't follow the quest indicator placed on your zone map. It displays as if Netherock is in a stationary position in the southwest. In fact, he patrols the south edge of the island, as shown in the map above.

I found him close to the center of the southern most edge of the island. I was a level 67 demonology warlock and soloed him.

For me, he was no where near the map location. He was almost clear across the map, near the Arklon Ruins. Fairly easy to solo as a warlock using Felguard.

I found him near where gyngercookie found him, at the Arklon Ruins and this confirmation is in the new 5.2 patch. It was just south of the ruins, in the Crumbling Waste. I initially spotted him at 41.16, 78.36. You have to be quick to nail him because after so much time, he disappears. I had him measured up for the kill and just as I was diving down for the kill he disappeared. He doesn't respawn very quickly either so you have to have a lot of patience. I went back and completed other quests and came back several times before I spotted him again.

The second time I spotted him was at 35.20, 78.71, not far from the initial sighting. Quickly dove down, landed and ran after him, attacking from the rear. He was also easy to bring down soloing as an unholy DK, lvl 67, no pet/minion. Thing to keep in mind here is that he is in the Crumbling Waste not in Netherstorm, just a bit S to SE of the Arklon Ruins map marker.

Soloed as 67 Blood Elf Frost Mage. Found him at 21,77 and using Mirror Image and I was able to take him down pretty quickly.

Just fly along the southern ride until you spot him - he's huge, hard to miss!

I got this one easy with 67 Shadow Priest, didn't lose any health with my shield up the whole time.

Solo'd at 68 feral druid ... died at the end, but still got credit for it. Fairly easy .. if I'd popped my healing touch a second earlier, I'd have lived, so pop it as soon as he gets below 50% if you're around there too since he spawns the crumblers that take you down after that ;) Good luck!

I have found Netherock in many places. Sometimes walking a route between 36,79 and 41,77 - back and forth. For those without Coords, looking at the map - find the words Arklon Ruins - He walks between the 'A' and the 'R' and back again. I have also seen him walk from the quest marker on the map all the way across the southern border of the section that Area 52 is in. My advice, just fly back and forth along this southern border from the quest marker to the Arklon Ruins.

Not a hard fight to solo for my 68 frost mage.

Cant find him anywhere. 5 runs at 3 different times. Is there some phase or other quest i need to be in, or am I very, very unlucky?

Found Netherock at 33.0, 79,3 and then again at 25.0, 80.6 (patrols between these points), quite far from where the quest indicates on your map. Try using /target Netherock to easily track him.

Has 27,232 hp.

He drops about 50 silver, some Crystalized Stone Chips and can be mined after death giving Crystalline Fragments.

i got him in the south and solo'd him on my prot warrior lvl 67. it took me around 6/7 secs and didnt lose more than 10% hp.

Finally found him at 19.58, 74.80 after going back and searching many times since level 67.

The map location is correct, as this is where he spawns after he is killed. If he isn't there, he either will take approx. 5 mins to respawn or he is out patrolling around the southern rim as others have suggested.

• Accept the quest, Breaking Down Netherock, from the Wanted Poster at coords 32.1, 64.7 (Area 52).
• Netherock patrols the southern "coast" of Netherstorm, south of Area 52. Travel to this southern "coast," and kill Netherock.
• Travel back to Area 52 to coords 32.6, 64.4.
• Turn in the quest to Rocket-Chief Fuselage.

As of Oct.16 2016 the quest only rewards gold no gear. For me anyways. Huge bummer because the Shoulders looked nice for my transmog :(
