These are easy to kill and the drop rate is not bad. One dropped and everyone in the party was able to loot it.

Bah, took me 40 minutes or so, it was to the point that I kept looking at the quest log to make sure I was fighitng the correct mobs. If either location listed above are camped, good luck getting the drop, because I had them both to myself and it still took me forever.

Location doesn't have jack to do with if you get it first kill or not. It's all a matter of luck.

Killed the Greater Felfire Diemetradon for over an hour and a half so far and no drops. Not sure if they nerfed the drop rate on it but almost have 2 bars worth of exp from it at 67.

i thought killing 30 Clefthoofs was bad !

45 minutes so far, no drop - have done 18% of level 68 with just these mobs !

Third kill for me. For those without coords, they're west-northwest of the Sanctum of the Stars hanging out around the green lava stuff.

Try the mobs @ 56,43 just next to the bridge leading into 'Ruins of baa'ri' i got mine first kill....However before there i grinded for 45 minutes @ 56,53 (a place with the correct mobs but bad droprate)

It seem if you kill the mobs at the locations mentioned in the quest log it is a MUCH high drop rate.

the droprate is below 3% no matter where you go. This quest sucks. Tried both places, and none of the mobs at the spots dropped the quest item after the first 30 kills both places.

Farmed these for an hour on patch day, completely cleared both areas, no drop.

It took me 40 minutes farming one area clearing it three different times before it dropped.

If your melee remember to stay out of the water it takes away some of your health every few seconds.

For me it was like 'THE LOWEST DROPRATE EVER' i killed like 50 of them before i got the thing. i killed at (47,22)

It took me about 25, but with 560ish XP for each mob, that's not too bad. :)

I was also having a low drop rate so I stopped for awhile. I believe the issue is similar to the first part of this quest chain. If you kill the Greater Felfire Diemetradons slowly, they eventually start to glow green. Once they do, kill them as quickly as you can. I got the gizzard on the first kill with this method, so either it works or I am lucky.

baal80 is definatly right. Those co-ords saved me a lot of time. I spent an hour killing in the primary area near the boss/giant, and got nothing but a waste of my questing time. I went to the co-ords at about 56,52 and the first kill got me the item. :) Thanks a mill for the useful info baal80! You saved me a headache. lol :)

First time i went over there to get Overdeveloped Felfire Gizzard i gave up. Took too long time, then i went over there a secomd time to give the quest one more chance and it dropped on first mob

For anyone who uses TourGuide, the quest tip says to farm under the bridge at (52,56), but there are only two mobs here. I found MUCH better luck at the "lake" northeast of here at (56,52)- there are at least half a dozen. Thank you baal80!

Be careful while doing this quest and any other quests in this area for that matter not to stand in the green liquid for too long, as it deteriorates your health quite significantly

the drop rate is very low...i got the gizzard after more or less 15 kills so keep trying xD (a very good quest chain for skinning)

1. The Second Course...
• Accept the quest, The Second Course..., from Gnomus at coords 36.4, 55.2 (Wildhammer Stronghold).
• Travel northeast to the area of coords 56, 43.
• Kill Greater Felfire Diemetradon, until you loot an Overdeveloped Felfire Gizzard, from its corpse.
• Travel to Wildhammer Stronghold at coords 36.4, 55.2.
• Turn in the quest to Gnomus.

Description

I remember seeing larger diemetradons east of the Hand of Gul'dan, near the lava flows around the Ruins of Baa'ri. What I want you to get for me now is one overdeveloped felfire gizzard from the beasts around that area. You might have to kill several to find a gizzard like the one I described. Keep at it! One of them is bound to have my next meal.
