One of the easiest quests I have ever done. These ghosts have around 5500 health; I'm thinking of keeping the goggles and grinding.

They arent easy cuz of their hp, but bc of there loose hits and weak armor, which makes them nearly harmless.

anyone who wanted to grind all the way to 70, here is the easiest possible way to do it. Coin plus Netherweave cloth and the occasional green item. Grinding doesn't get any easier than this!

Easy grind is right. The are six of these that spawn inside the Inn alone! Kinda hilarious to grind XP while earning rested XP at the same time.

my only argument against grinding these is that the spawns are rare enough to be annoying. especially if you're not the only one doing them.

I had a bug with this where it stopped counting kills beyond 10.
I relogged and it credited me with the next two kills.

Could just be me though.

Also a great way to lvl weapons; got my mage to lvl most weapons skills except for unarmed. Cast Molten Armor, Mage Shield, Fireball, Frostbolt, IceLance/Fireblast, shield again and poke with weapon until mob dead. Eat/Drink as necessary. Cleanse, Rinse, repeat. This method does, of course, drain quite a bit of your mana from Mage Shield, so getting the mob down to about 20% before poking to death isn't a bad idea. The mobs only hit me for around 200-270 at most, so having Molten Armor on and letting that do most of the work still netted me enough poking to grant me +15 pts each per weapon before I got bored with it.

Remember to check inside houses as well.

This quest is currently bugged for hunters, your pet will run up, attack once, and then stop. You will either need to make a macro that says(f you have a ravager):

/petattack
/cast Growl
/cast Bite
/cast Gore

And spam it over and over(insert different attacks for a different pet), or push the buttons on your pet bar repeatedly. Same for demonology warlocks.

Bugged for Warlock as well. You have to manualy push the Attack button to make it throw a punch. Very silly bug which wasn't there before.

You can not use this version of the goggles to see the dragon for the last part of the chain. So if you are going to get these for that purpose, forget it.

It is not a bug that your pet doesn't automatically attack. When you don't have the goggles on you can't even attack the shadowmoon harbingers, so if anything's a bug it's the fact that your pet CAN attack without the goggles.

So, I'm gonna break it down for people that have no clue what they're doing, although that would be hard, considering BC has been out for awhile...

Pick up the quest from the dranei guy in the purple robe. Zorus is his name. It's a chain, and obviously, you have to do the other quests first.

When you get to this quest, put the goggles on. After putting the goggles on, you'll see these neutral purple and yellow ghost orc things walking around. You kill 12 of those.

They will whisper stuff to you, although it's not that much. It's some stuff about the Gorefiend will kill you, whatever.

You can stay in the Stronghold, even though I didn't do that.

Extremely simple quest.

Oh, and my pet actually killed the guys, so I think they fixed the glitch.

You MUST have the goggle's the quest giver provides to see the quest mobs!Even after you kill them,taking off the goggle's makes the corpse's disappear until you put them back on.On a side note the mobs are excellent for aoe grinding AND netherweave farming!=)

just a quick note for rogues:

Even though these guys ARE, in fact, ghosts. (with the ghostly-like appearance)
YOU. CAN. PICKPOCKET. THEM.

Seriously! If no other players are doing this quest, and you pickpocket every last one, you can make, at the very least, 2-3 gold in one pass. This amount is in addition to the cash that drops already!

Oh, and the Strong Junkboxes are nice too!

In addition to all the previous comments, don't forget that when you put the goggles on, your headgear (if you are wearing any) comes off. When you complete the quest, you get to keep the goggles BUT YOU WILL NOT BE WEARING THEM OR YOUR HELMENT. Its kinda like fishing, remember to put your helment back on just like you have to replace you fishing pole with your normal weapon when you are done fishing.

I spent a good few minutes reading through the posts here and wondering if the quest was bugged before realizing that the Spectrecles do not show up in your inventory with the yellow, quest item outline around them. They just show up like a normal inventory item. If you aren't seeing them in your inventory after accepting the quest, look closely. They are there, just hiding with the normal items in your bags.

I was farming the spirits, logged, came back ... and they were all green to me, friendly! Couldn't attack! Dropped the quest, took it again, still green! Oh oh, I thought, I'm screwed now. Logged, came back in, no change.

So I removed the goggles and put them back on again. Bingo: the spirits went yellow, attackable, back to cloth farming :-)

I have accepted and dropped this quest about 3 times and i still do not have the quest item in my bag. i have looked at every single item in my bag and its not there.

I did this with my level 70 Priest-Shadow. Very easy straight out and fight.The glasses on completing it are renewed, for the next quest which is given by Zorus to look for a Ghostly Orc. This quest leads you to chain of quests that come to a reward of a green/blue proto drake! Level up!

Somewhere along the line Blizz changed this. I was farming the cloth yesterday, well after I got the 12 kills and had the quest requirements done. Came back today, I can still see the ghosts but they're green, can't kill them. I'm a little nervous about discarding the quest and starting it all over again, for fear I'll not be able to take it again.

If that doesn't work, I'll let you know.

-- Discarded the quest and took it from the questgiver again. I still had the spectrecles on, could still see the ghosts, still green. Then I took off the spectrecles, put them back on, and bingo, the ghosts are yellow and killable again. Back to farming :-) You might have to do this every day. Or maybe just remove and replace the spectrecles; I didn't try that.

At 96 Experience each though, you aren't going to be doing any leveling farming these guys. About all you'll get is 10 or 15 silver each kill, and that Netherweave cloth which drops pretty regularly.

I did not receive any googles from Zorus and when I tried to abandon the quest and pick it back up to see if he will give me a pair I still don't get a pair. Am I supposed to get the googles from someone else or from another quest?

• Accept the quest, Harbingers of Shadowmoon, from Zorus the Judicator at coords 36.6, 55.4 (Wildhammer Stronghold).
• Equip the Spectrecles, you were provided.
• Kill 12 Greater Felfire Diemetradon.
• Turn in the quest to Zorus the Judicator.

Harbingers of Shadowmoon

Zorus the Judicator at Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley wants you to slay 12 Shadowmoon Harbingers.

Description

Let it be known that Zorus does have a sense of humor.

Enough small talk. Don the Spectrecles so that you are able to see the Shadowmoon orc spirits that wander this stronghold. Do not be frightened as we are truly the invaders here. Alas, they must be destroyed, for their time has long since passed.

Destroy the Shadowmoon harbingers infesting Wildhammer Stronghold and return to me.
