Both elites soloable by warlock. Makazradon can be chainfeared, and Morgroron can be kited with Curse of Exhaustion.

They're both VERY easy to kite to Shadowmoon if you're horde. As long as you do 50% of the damage yourself they stay lootable. It's a bit cheap but whatever gets the job done. ;)

Morgrogon: Immune to snares/slows, but not immune to stuns (Impact worked, I'd presume that cheap shot, kidney shot, intimidation, concussive blow did too etc).

Makazradon: Snarable, I just rank 1 frostbolted him everytime he got close. Make sure you avoid his Cripple though if you're kiting him. Make sure you have a pvp trinket on or get ready to interrupt or whatever.

Just make sure you clear a couple of the mobs at the entrance to Legion Hold and it's effortlessly solo'able if you're a caster. If a cripple lands on you and you don't have Ice Block/trinket to remove it expect to get owned though.

Solo'd both as a 70 disc/holy priest... not too hard.. Mak is fearable and super easy.. Morg can be kind of tricky... keep shield/renew up whenever you can.. pop shadowfiend midway through and if you have dmg trinkets, keep em rolling with a PI to start.. all in all, not too hard.. quite unsure why this is a 3person quest

It is soloable for level 70 balance druid. Makazradon isn't immune to roots. Morgroron is immune but doesn't hit too hard.

Morgroron is immune to all slowing and fear effects. He can however be kited anyway by a warlock that keep's dots up. Did it solo at lvl 69, affli lock.

Morgroron is around 24,40.

Makazradon walks from 21,36 to 25,35. Make a /target Makazradon macro it'll make it easier to spot him.

I tried soloing Mor in bear form; maybe I'm just a weakling, but I couldn't do it. So i put on my max +int gear and went kiting. I just made sure they both had moonfire on them the whole time, and brought them down to Shadowmoon Village, where the guards eat them up good. Only problems I had was stray mobs on me (it's a good idea to clear some first, for an easier kite path), an alliance ganker, and them evade bugging (gotta attack 'em every 5-10 seconds). Pretty simple for anyone that has some sort of ranged attack!

Soloed easily as a level 69 frost mage.
Makazradon is snareable, and you can kite him easy.
Morgoron is immune to freezing/slow effects, but if you use your elemental and then ice lance kite him, he's easy

Soloed both as a melee shaman.
They dont have that much health, just bust all your cooldowns and they go down easily.

Be sure to stay out of Rain of Fire though, it packs quite a punch.

Easily done by 70 MM Hunter and 70 Prot Warrior. Too easy, IMO.

Just soloed as holy paladin. Both are annoying to melee but can be doable if you can self-heal. I didn't have any problem with adds at all, flew in there and killed 1 add at each spot before pulling the elites.

Morgroron: 23.6, 38.3 - This is within pull range of a spot where he paus in his small circular patrol. A terrorfiend (watch his fear) stand at this spot. Kill him, pull Mor, stand with back against the wall for Mor's knockbacks.

Makazradon: 20.8, 33.6 - This is as far west as he patrols, a wrathwalker stand on a small hill here. Kill him, pull Mak when he walks by. There's also a nice spot far east, near the road (around 26.34), depends where you find him on his route.

You want a little room when you chose to melee these guys. They use an AoE rain which deals alot of dmg, espec when you have the debuff that deals extra dmg from magic. This can be avoided by moving around them in a circle, don't have to clear mobs. Mor has a knockback tho, the wall helps. Neither has very much hp so I bet you can just nuke them down fast as well.

solo'd as 69 shadow priest. casted Vampiric Touch, SW: Pain, Devouring Plague, Mind Blast, Vampiric Embrace and then i started running, casting Mind Blast every time it was up. Morgroron isen't that hard.. i took him with 2 Terrormaster on me.. (i suck at avoiding demons -.-)

Make sure to bring a potion or two

Mak was the easy one to kite. I killed him just before I made it to Shadowmoon Village. Keep him on the road and your golden.
Morg was a little harder just cause of all the adds. I did try to clear as much as I could but had to veer off the road on the way down the hill and kited him thru mobs which I didn't aggro (hooray). Killed him before I got him to the main road. Morg seems to slow down when his health is low. Just kept serpent sting and arcane shot on him w/ cheetah on for distance. Stopped a few times to auto shot him. My pet tanked the adds near the top of the hill and died (oh well, what are pets for).

Both of the demons are banishable. This makes them easily soloed by any warlock through the use of Curse of Doom and chain banishing. It takes roughly two to four Curse of Doom ticks depending on your shadow damage.

Easily solo'd as a 70 BM hunter, clear an area of mobs, send pet in, hit cooldowns, specials specials specials, if he aoe's pull pet back, the aoe will not follow but he will, it will be a good 10+ seconds before he attempts to aoe again. Other than that his normal hits don't really hurt and are easily healed through.

This worked for both of them

Make sure you clear out the area you are going to fight in because they have knockback abilities and pulling adds is not fun. Both elites can be stunned or gouged by rogues, and having a Demonslaying enchant on your weapon can be a lifesaver. They can also be afflicted with crippling poison, so you can sprint away and bandage if your gouge is on cooldown. All in all, two challenging fights for rogues, I was wearing level 70 instance blues and only used bandages as well as a food buff and barely killed them, after failing a couple times.

I used Mymh's coordinates, excellent job.

Solo'd as a 70 elemental shaman in green gear.

Tanked Mogroron with Earth Elemental Totem, and he took a lot of damage from the AOE, and died half way through the fight. I had to kite him around a small rock outcropping slightly down the hill of his roaming circle.

Tanked Makazradon with Fire Elemental Totem, and he barely took damage, easy fight.

It was possibly changed in 2.3 or something but Makazradon isn't snareable anymore. I did manage to kill him (as an elemental shaman) by kiting anyway but had to use a super healing pot and cast healing wave once. The cripple is annoying, if you know to prepare for it, it is interruptible and naturally grounding totem works on it as well.

Solo'd today as a prot war. Morgroron was a lot easier than Mak. Just have to watch out for the cripple from Mak.

Soloed as a 69 feral druid. The weaker one is trivial, just bash heal, barkskin heal, bear regeneration heal.
The other one is easy if you do it right. The trick is to pop out of bear everytime he starts casting cripple on you and heal yourself with regrowth. The moment you shift back into bear the cripple effect will have already landed and will fade the time you shift. Just be sure to clear mobs around a decently wide area because you'll have to kite him away from the rain of fire he casts.

Soloed as a level 70 Holy Priest, just keep Pain and Plague up on them, heal yourself when you get to about 2k HP, so that you don't get 1 hit from anything, Holy Fire when it's up from cool down. For mana just use Shadow Fiend and Arcane Torrent if you're a Blood Elf. Biggest problem for me what the knock back that Morgroron did, it pushed me into other mobs in the area which was quite annoying, wasn't a problem though, still had plenty of HP and my Shadow Fiend was up for the extra mana.

this was a cakewalk as a 69 unholy DK, but then again, what isn't?

the rain of fire is an instant cast, not channeled, so you can't interrupt it. makazradon also casts a very nasty cripple - though he's immune to stuns and snares, he is *not* immune to cast interrupts. i was able to MF the cripple, so i assume any class with a silence/kick/CS type ability would be able to prevent this from going off.

morgoron's rain of fire ticked on me for about 1300 before i got anti-magic shell up (that's after 7% reduction to magic dmg from frost presence + talent), makazradon's ticked for 2k - quite nasty for those without a way to avoid the damage. they both melee'd me for around 400 a hit, makazradon has a fel cleave that hit for around 1k and morgroron had a mortal cleave that hit for about the same so be prepared for those damage spikes, especially if you're not in plate (or equivalent) armor since the cleaves will, ofc, hit a lot harder.

Morgroron dropped it for me the first one, but Makazdaron did not.

Makazdaron does not have a 100% drop rate. It did drop the second time I killed him.

Anybody with a tanking pet could probably solo this as soon as they get it now. Completed as a 67 enhancement shaman using my earth elemental totem. Healed once on each guy. Only hard part was setting up the pulls.

Easily solable with my lvl 70 Goblin Warlock - Used Curse of Elements and Bane of Agony, corruption - after the DPS i just used Immolate and Incinerate, and my fel guard did the rest.

Solo as 71 lvl Hunter. Dropped no problem in couple shots with pet and was able to drop in to location where no other combatants were even engaged. Each went down in about two or three seconds. Maybe something is different with the newer patches but I saw no need to agro any minions. Engaged the two targets easily without drawing any of their sidekicks.

Soloed as a level 67 Frost Mage. It was far too easy for the quest that it is still listed as as of patch 5.2.

Used Icy Veins, trinket, ice barrier, and mirror images, expecting to have to kite them around, and they both died in seconds or less. Didn't even break my shield.

Solo'd as a 69 shadow priest. Just put on your shield and do your normal rotations.Just as easy as killing normal mobs :-)

I find it quite funny how the orc is telling you how he is gonna craft you an awesome weapon and then gives you an ordinary gear as a reward.

Capture the Weapons

Grokom Deatheye at Shadowmoon Village wants you to bring him Mazakradon's Glaive and Morgroron's Glaive.

Description

With a larger supply of this material, I can forge a weapon suitable for you.

The two pit lords at Legion Hold, Makazradon and Morgroron, have already been equipped with these anti-demon weapons. Capturing those two weapons should provide us with enough material to make your weapon, and then some.

I can't wait to bring the battle to the enemy using these weapons. That'll teach the Legion to trifle with anti-demon magics.
