... AoE ... NOT if you are a HEALING DRUID! Actually NOT if you are anything OTHER than a mage! ... FFS, then is is BLOODY hard to do, especially alone. In ADDITION ... NO ONE MENTIONS ... that the Void Waste are RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF 3 Million hostile mobs, and that being within 300 feet of another waste will also upset THAT and cause more adds. This cannot be done simply alone ... so hope you at least have a friend to assist

Very easy for a warlock, just use seed of corruption on one of the big globules and when it dies it procs the SoC AOE and kills the little globs.

Another piece of advice, just in case you aren't aware, the void wastes are the little yellow creatures located in the Ethereum Staging Grounds...just like the quest says...took me a few mins to realize it myself.. :P

I stood on the rock at 55,44 and snagged em as they ran by was done in less than a minute with hunter, laid down explosive trap...

as an ele sham, cast stoneclaw, and make sure the 'v' option is enabled so u can see multiple HP bars, attack melee with whatever wep u have and press 'tab' after one hit. cast fire nova, when all of the globs are not at 100%. if u dont, the mobs will attack the nova totem which has 5 hp and wont activate.

If you don't have AoE abilities, this strategy could prove useful. As a rogue, after drinking the Navuud's Concoction, I was was first clearing the zone around myself, then shooting from distance with my gun to Seeping Sludges and Void Wastes. Sometimes they were exploding just with one shot, some times they were coming to me.
In the first case, I had a mass of globules standing still, ready to be pulled one by one with my gun (some times I was one-shotting them).
In the second instance, when killing the mob I immediately run away; only few globules followed me, and they were quite easy to kill. Then I finished the rest with the tactic I've just described.
This way you run no risks and can train your ranged weapon... ;)

ALL LV 70s should do this quest, if they haven't. its a 5-10 minute quest that rewards 20 gold.

4 of each kinda mob will produce all the globules you need. You don't even have to kill the mob before it spawns the globules. Sometimes the globules spawed after first hit. After this, its just one or two aoes.

Start killing them around 56,45, then go to that precise spot (edge of water) and wait. After you kill one, another one spawns a few seconds later. Got this done within a minute.

For Shaman:

Don't use your fire nova totem, as you need to hit them with a direct spell of your own or a melee attack to get credit. Killing them all via fire nova doesn't give you any. :( It's a mistake you'll only make once, but it might save you a few seconds of time so worth the warning. :)

Also, use Stoneskin Totem. They hit for 1 dmg while the totem is down. Healing Stream Totem is also nice to put down here. :)

just south of the consortium camp is the green sludge ponds. you can get the sludges on the upper terraces, in smaller pools without killing more than one or two mobs, if that.
the waster are in the larger pond areas, you will have to clear at least one mob to get a good spot to watch a likely glob pass by and grab it. you can also just clear a mob aread and grab them easily. If you have drunk the electro potion, the sludge/.waste will break up into 8-12 globs after 1-3 hits. As a warlock I broke it down at a distance, and simply wanded the globs one at a time.

Hpwever. I had two mobs respawn on top of me, and kill me at 29/30 globs killed - of course - immune to fear!! When I went back to the quest giver there was no option to receive another electro potion. So it seems i will have to drop the quest and redo from the beginning to finish it. Bummer.

For rogues, careful with Navuud's Concoction proc: It'll proc and grab aggro on a distract, even on other random mobs. Also, if it procs when the quest mob is stunned, disoriented, or incapacitated, then the little guys won't spawn; the quest mob will die though, strangely.

On a sorta funny note, the proc goes off--has visuals and sounds--on any mob. You could bring the Concotion to raids and PvP sessions to confuse people (until they look at the combat log).

This is by far the most pointless waste of repair bill money in a quest I've seen in this game so far. (Coming from a warlock that aggroes the entire map when SoC goes off)

Quest Notes: The quest giver gives you a potion of charges called “Navuud’s Concotion” (Looks like a jar of water ((yes blue)) with a cap on top) You drink this, and it gives you a 1 hour buff (that disappears when you die, but no fear, Its reusable as much as you like, unlimited charges).

You go out and find the parental unit of these globules, (Seeping Sludges, and Void Wastes) and engage in a fight… MAKE SURE THE POTION BUFF IS ON! Shortly after the engagement, the parental sludge/waste bursts into a ton of tiny guys that run around like crazy. You are required to kill them. As a Mage, 2 arcane explosions (maybe 3 depending on your spec) should kill the little ones. Each parental unit explodes in to approximately 6-10 little guys. You’re required to kill 30 of each kind to complete the quest. Simple in Theory.

Having a buff like Thorns, Molten Armor, Retaliation, etc that causes damage when you’re hit makes life A LOT easier downing the little ones.

Alliance Watch: MODERATE – Many quests in this area for the Consortium faction. I ran into a few, all questing, so they didn’t bother me. They also have quests in this area, so odds of attack are low, but hey, who can predict human nature.
Quest Rank of Ease: Average – AOE Class has it the easiest, but with the Agro in the area and the fairly quick respawn rate, this isn’t necessarily an easy task.

I allways keep the quest in my log and my potion on me :)
You can pop it anytime, anywhere, anyday and allmost everymob in this game is affected by the "lightning" spell you cast on them with this active, and it has a 60sec cooldown, and last for 60 mins.
It doesent harm the target but it looks fun and gives an awesome sound

So unless you absolutely needs this quest to be done, i would recommend you to keep this quest in you log and the potion on you ^^

Hunters: remember that when mob dies with damage coming only from your pet, it won`t give credit for quest. So after the big guy blows up, set your pet on Passive mode, use Explosive trap on blobs and put Defensive status back, pet will finish the job.

Tips for Warlocks-

Make sure Potion is on, and cast Seed of Corruption on the Void Waste/Seeping Sludge. Let the Seeping Sludge/Void Waste die, then Seed of Corruption will 'explode', killing the targets you need to kill for this quest.

Strange fact the item this quest gives, If you drink it, then abandon the quest, and take it again, You get another buff, I had about 10 buffs of this, Each buff has a chance to proc, so it just procs madly.

Tips for Shadow Priests

Stand at your max mindflay range and begin to mindflay the parent mob. The buff sould proc sometime durring your mindflay cast, poping the mob into globules. If you back up a tad quickly, you can mindflay, wand, ect the globules down one at a time and it won't aggro the whole group. Best way I fouldnt to do this quest with my lack of aoe.

As said before, shamans don't use fire totems!
When i did this quest I found out that with stoneskin down the Globules only damages you for 1 damage point per hit, a great tip for all shamans but I dunno if it's already mentioned :-)

Warning to anyone who likes an extra buff that does nothing but looks cool and has a fancy effect that works on most/all mobs/npcs/players!

If you're a prot paladin or other low-dps class, don't turn this in until you're done questing in the area. You can keep drinking it, and it'll make the void horrors etc divide and die with just a few ticks of consecrate(or whatever). Otherwise, if one runs into your aoe, you have to fight it like a real mob.

As of 3.1 for those, including me, that kept this quest and used the concoction for the silly buff, it no longer works. You need to be in Netherstorm to use it. It's a sad moment for us buff-aholics.

Did you notice any abnormally large slimes at or near the area where the void wastes drain into?

It sounds like he's pointing you towards an elite or special ooze, but I'm not aware of any.

Note: If you use Charge (warrior ability) on either the Void wastes or the seeping sludges globules they will just die, and nothing will spawn (none quest creature).

Just a note to 80's doing this (such as for Loremaster of Outland). As a mage, they would not divide into the little guys by killing them with my spells, I had to hit them with my staff. Not sure if it works the same on lower levels.

The way the buff works is it gives you a CHANCE to cause the blobs to divide into little blobs. So if you're an 80 doing this for Loremaster use a very low powered attack so you don't one shot them. As a mage I used my wand and it worked fine. When the buff procs it will kill the target instantly and the little guys will pop out. Before I figured that out I killed tons of them with a single spell and rarely got any little guys.

As an 85 go naked and have an aoe ability, as an 85 hunter I went naked and used explosive traps.
Each mob turns into 7-8 little ones.

As an 85 rogue, I found the best solution to go naked, autoattack until split and then Fan of Knives the adds.

As an 85 feral i had a hard time getting them to split until I got the grand idea of unequipping my weapon. A couple punches got them to split right away.

If your 85 this is a pain u end up killing the mob before it proc the Electro-Shock Therapy but as druid i found that if you turn into a Travel Form and attack them it doesn't due much damage to the mob and it will proc.
As for anyone else at 85 is to do it naked .

If you 1-shot the parent mobs, they don't spawn the children you need to kill to complete the quest. My level 85 hunter had to get naked to avoid killing them too quickly.

The potion procs Electro-Shock Therapy, which has a 25% proc chance. At level 85, the slimes will die far too fast for this. The proc would not trigger off of ; I did not test other passive damage abilities.

The good news is, stripping naked will allow you to punch them in the nose several times, then AoE the little guys, at least on PvE servers. :-)

If you're 85 and over ilvl 400, like myself, I suggest taking all of your gear off, punching the Sludges and then turn around immediately and then kill the globules. Worked perfectly for me.

Way to do this at 85 without going naked as a paladin:

Use Seal of Insight, drop a Judgement on the target at range, then run in and AoE the little adds down if they spawn. Using a low-damage passive ability like Retribution Aura didn't make them split until their health got so low that they'd die before splitting, and I didn't have much luck with getting them to split at close range.

as of 5.0.4, is seems that wanding no longer procs the potion.

I killed legions on my priest via wanding, with no spawn procs... switched to my bare hands and it started proccing every other hit.

If you are a higher level character doing this for Loremaster then you will have to take special measures. The Globule's aren't spawned until after you've been fighting for a few seconds, so if you go around one-shotting the Wastes and Sludges, you won't ever see the Globules.

Find your targets, drink the potion, then unequip your weapon and enter hand to hand combat! After smacking it around a little with some low power hits, it will spawn the Globules. Then go ahead and AOE those suckers down!

For anyone who is having trouble getting the tiny adds to spawn from the bigger ones. While your buff is up, spam a spell that does not do damage (slow for mages as a example). This will save a lot of time especially if you are doing this at 90 (or higher) since I can about one hit the mobs as a mage using my staff.

To do this at a high level you can simply cast curses or taunts (any attack that doesn't do damage but still gets aggro). As a level 90 Warlock I just used the Curse of the Elements and it worked nicely.

As a level 90 warrior, I was one-shotting the mobs and they never split into the globules. I kept trying, thinking that it sure was a low drop rate for the globules. Finally realizing that something was wrong I came here to see if I could find out why. Not having the bag space to get naked, I was able to stow my sword, chest, head and shoulder armor and that was enough to slow down the kills long enough for the globules to spawn. I had to keep my weapon handy to grab to knock off the globules quickly and to protect myself from other agro in the area though. This should work for all melee class players.

As of 6.0.2, since level 90s do way more damage against lower level mobs, doing this quest has become impossible. I was completely naked and punching them for three times their hp. Would love to know if someone finds a way to do this.

2. disarm your weapons
3. jump off ledge and die
4. take the resurrection sickness
5. return to mob area
6. punch mobs into weakness
7. apply tag/net/lasso/electric/etc.

Yes, it will cost you to repair your armor.
Yes, you will be sick for 10 minutes.

As a level 90 hunter I was unable to complete this quest. I dismissed pet, got down to my underpants, and killed all the oozes in the area, including the Void Waste, multiple times and none broke into the globules.

I did this while doing Loremaster with a max level hunter and discovered you do not need to weaken yourself or strip naked to do this. What you need is patience and a bit of luck.

What you have to do:
-Drink the potion
-Be right next to the slimes
-Shoot a random enemy near by: this creates 'an electric charge'.
-Doing so has a change causing the slime to split once you attack it.
-Be patient.

It may take some time to get it done right, but it is possible. Like said; I was able to finish this with level 100 hunter without stripping naked. Bottom line is; create that charge by shooting a random targen. With hunters just shooting out a trap might be enough.

at level 90 it is impossible to complete the quest whether you are in gear or not in gear...this is because you are 20 levels above a very weak mob. 1 shot / hit it's dead. punch it and its one shot dead, so based on common sense, logic and being 20 levels above the weak mob...you never did kill it with a punch on the nose at 90 in no gear.../yawn

As a level 100, I didn't want to deal with the die/naked thing, so I made up some G91 Landshark rocket (engineering). It takes them down to about 5% health and triggers the split. If you go around the mountain to around 65, 40 and 63,36, there are a couple groups of red globs that you can gather together and take out 5 or so with each rocket. This way you only need to use 4 or 5 rockets to get that 30. If you have a taunt, you can gather a few yellows as they head toward 55, 44. The cooldown takes a bit, so I just did the other quests in the area while waiting for it to become available again.

As a 100 druid I found that spamming Faerie Fire or Soothe would pop the slimes. The most I had to cast on a single slime was 4 times. I haven't tested other classes, but my assumption is that casting any non-damaging spell will break them.

Level 100 shammy here. I took off all gear (except weapons) and got resurrection sickness (jump off a cliff or fly up high and dismount then accept the 10 minute sickness from the graveyard) in order to complete.
I used frost shock to bring their health down. Some produced globules and some didn't. Just make sure your hits aren't killing them right away and you should be able to complete this.

As a lvl 100 Hunter, Distracting Shot Caused the Void Wastes to split. Not sure about the Seeping Sludges, as I used Landsharks on them...

Did it as a level 100 Hunter:
1. Fly into the air on your mount, dismount, die, take resurrection sickness.
2. Use the quest item - Navuud's Concoction.
3. Take all your gear off EXCEPT your weapon.
4. Use Explosive Trap on the Void Waste and Sleeping Sludge.
5. Once the Void Waste and Sleeping Sludge separate into globules, barrage kill them. (Not every Void Waste and Sleeping Sludge will separate, so just persevere).

100 Ret pally - Getting naked with rez sickness and punching the mobs, I was able to complete this quest. I could get in 1-2 hits and then I waited for them to split.

You don't have to commit suicide or take rez sickness or even get naked if you're a higher level. You can't do it with your regular gear on, that's for certain. But you can put on your fishing gear and beat it with a fishing rod while wearing your fishing hat, boots, and the gloves you got in Pandaria to help you harvest faster :) That'll keep you from killing them too quickly and you don't have to die or get naked to do it!

1. Electro-Shock Goodness!
• Accept the quest, Electro-Shock Goodness!, from Researcher Navuud at coords 59.2, 32.4 (Protectorate Watch Post).
• Drink the Navuud's Concoction, you were provided, to receive the buff Electro-Shock Therapy.1
• Travel to the Ethereum Staging Grounds, to area of coords 55, 41.
• Attack Void Waste (located in the "water" in the area) until it splits, then destroy Void Waste Globule. Continue this process until you have killed 30 Void Waste Globule. 2
• Travel east to coords 64, 40.
• Attack Seeping Sludge (located in the "water" in the area) until it splits, then destroy Seeping Sludge Globule. Continue this process until you have killed 30 Seeping Sludge Globule. 3
• Travel back to the Protectorate Watch Post, to coords 59.2, 32.4.
• Turn in the quest to Researcher Navuud.

NOTE: 1If you are playing a high level toon, unequip all your armor and weapons, fly up into the air and dismount (falling to your death). Once a ghost, you will speak with the Spirit Healer and accept the Resurrection Sickness. Doing this will give you a better chance of weakening the mob, without killing it in one hit.

23The Void Waste or Seeping Sludge won't always split into globules if you are playing a high-level toon, but keep going and be relatively patient.

Things of note for a level 100 trying to do this for Loremaster. I tried landsharks (bombs) and the potion doesn't proc from these, I found out the hard way when the mobs only split in 2 and the kills didn't count. However, rez sickness and no gear (including trinkets) does allow you to auto-attack and not kill it in order for the mobs to split.

I am a lvl 102 Demon Hunter. I removed all my gear including my weapon. However, I DID NOT take rez sickness and was able to single punch each mob and have them split into globules. And complete this quest. (I thought this might be helpful, because I don't like taking rez sickness unless I have to.)

I have done this twice with a Mistweaver Monk and a Frost Mage. For level 110, the solution seems to be to not get too close to the globules to kill them - use Crackling Jade Lightning (Mistweaver Monk) or Ice Lance (Frost Mage), then move in to split the dead globules up. No need to level down or get rez-sickness, at least not for these classes.

As a level 100, I thought this would be hard but it wasn't! No need to use the foam sword or take off your gear. I just took the auto attack spell from the spell book and put it on my task bar. I targeted a Void Waste and pushed the auto attack button once. That was enough to split the void waste in to little globules.

You HAVE to take off all your gear, and get rez sickness to complete as of 7.3.5.

If you are 110 Warrior and you can't kill them due to massive damage, I suggest Heroic Leap onto the Void Waste. It kills the main mob and let's the smaller ones spawn.

Shoft foam shword dont work, but if you drink the given potion and then just melee swing them with an auto attack they will split (like a banana).

Researcher Navuud at the Protectorate Watch Post in Netherstorm has asked that you destroy 30 Void Waste Globules and 30 Seeping Sludge Globules.

Description

Around the ruined manaforge you will find the run-off of Dimensius's handy work. Seeping sludge occupies the pools that surround Ultris. Directly below those pools, where the Ethereum Staging Grounds now stand, you will find even more run-off in the form of void waste.

The best method of disposal is to use electro-shock to break slimes down to globules. Use this elixir to augment your attacks with electricity. The resultant discharge will break the slimes up into their raw form. Destroy the globules!
