PvP Changes in Season 2

Elite Bracket: When players hit 2400, they are moved into the newly-renamed Elite Bracket, which rewards a class-specific title and special tabard (Sinister Gladiator's Tabard, Sinister Gladiator's Tabard). The Gladiator title is now available from winning 50 games in the Elite Bracket.

Conquest Reward Choices: When the weekly reward is an Azerite armor piece, players choose between one of four options. When the weekly reward is not an Azerite piece, trinket, or weapon, players are presented with two options.

Earning Vicious Saddles: After you fill your progress bar up once, earning the Vicious Black Bonesteed and Vicious Black Warsaber, you'll get a Vicious Saddle every future time you fill up the bar, which can be turned in for many mounts!

PvP Changes in Patch 8.1

The reward bonuses from War Mode can now scale above 10% when a faction was outnumbered over the course of the preceding week, up to a maximum of 30% additional quest rewards and experience.

In War Mode, an outnumbered faction now has access to a weekly quest to slay 25 level 120 players of the opposing faction, rewarding a piece of item level 370 Arathi Warfront gear and 1000 Artifact Power.

War Mode can now be disabled in any rested area. It can still only be enabled in Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

The Honor system reward vendor has been consolidated.

Spoils of War - To assist characters beginning their adventures in PvP, Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds now reward 50% bonus Conquest for the first 8 weeks of the Conquest schedule.

Strongboxes rewarded for unrated PvP have been improved. They now contain Marks of Honor, gold, PvP consumables, and profession materials. Strongboxes granted on victories contain greater amounts of these rewards.

Rated Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds now grant an additional 50% conquest for all conquest reward weeks prior to week 9.

Honor pet rewards have consolidated to new vendors in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

Blizzard

Our thoughts are that queuing for a large battleground like Alterac Valley or Isle of Conquest is opting-in for a different experience than all the other battlegrounds, in the sense of the larger 40 vs 40 scale and the longer duration time. That's the main motivator for moving them to a separate queue.

While we have no immediate plans to change the gameplay of AV or IoC, its not out of the realm of possibility. Certainly with them being in their own queue gives us the opportunity to tweak them separately. We also would like to re-introduce other larger scale maps from the past into the playlist over time.

Ranked PvP Gear Acquisition

At the end of a match, you will have a chance to acquire an item just like did at the end of a Mythic+ run, with the quality of the item being proportional to your rating.

When you win a Rated PvP match or when you complete your first RBG win of the day in order to earn Conquest. Once you earn enough Conquest, you will unlock a piece of gear at certain breakpoints. It starts off at an LFR-level quality itemand it scales up as you progress. If you invest enough time, you will be guaranteed to unlock the full set.

When you fill up a Conquest bar for the week, you will unlock a new weekly reward from a chest near the Dueler's Guild, which is based on the highest bracket you had won at least 1 game in.

Do we know when the merge of honor will occur? Will it happen before BFA is out so I can see where I ended up across all my toons and what rewards I've gotten? I need to know how much harder to work to get to Prestige 17!

Comment by CandyToast

Six honor talents to three, interesting.

Comment by alpanhell

Am I missing something? Are they really offering the old Honor level rewards for the new system?

For example now (in Legion) you get the Prestigious Midnight Courser at level 25 and in the new xpac you'll get the exact same thing at level 250!

How is this a good thing? I don't get it.

Comment by Gotnov

Note: Demon Hunters and Death Knights learn their PVP Talents at different levels than the standard 20,40,70,110, presumably due to starting at a higher level.

I'm a bit confused. So is there still the RNG system for getting gear from finishing bgs and other stuff?

Comment by Rossmallo

Anyone happen to know what level we'll be unlocking artifact appearances on in this new system?

Comment by Piriposa

Why PvP achievements are not also account-wide?

Comment by SyCx1

can anyone clarify the weekly PVP chest in more detail? like how much conquest does it take to fill up the bar, which PVP activities are the most efficient for getting it, etc?

Comment by fridgerator

So top env PVE players will still have better PVP gear than PVP only players?

Comment by pyrogreg

rival weekly chest is actually 405

Comment by Aerozia

Blizzard needs to remove rating criteria for the mount its $%^&ing bull#$%^. I play a hunter, and groups dont want 1 hunter usually, while they will stack mages locks boomies rogues warriors dks. So hard to get in a group.
