I'm fine with most of Balance's upcoming changes but this honestly is not one of them. Starfall's "hit everything everywhere" system was unique and iconic, and might I personally add made soloing stuff a breeze. Now it's just another targeted AoE, same as so many other classes, even if it does have a large radius.

Now I'm also curious if it will be possible to stack Starfall several times over one place taking in charge these changes... So far it has no limitations, only astral power.

You can now cast targeted AoE spells like this right away where your cursor is, using @cursor in your macro.
For example:

/cast Starfall

Or to cast it at your character's feet:

#showtooltip
/cast Starfall

if you are trying to see the exact circle of Starfall, go to graphics and enable projected textures

After patch 8.0 seems like the "Also applies Stellar Empowerment to each target, which increases damage taken from your Moonfire and Sunfire by 20%" effect is hidden, but present.

I didn't test if this effect is active < lvl 65, maybe now is baseline, but I don't understand why blizzard removed the tooltip, I think it's an important effect and every moonkin should know what Starfall does.

I checked passives, but couldn't find this effect anywhere.

Of note: even though it has been reverted to it's earlier version in Shadowlands it still won't affect mobs that are not in combat with the caster

I surprisingly ended up liking the Shadowlands version. I was initially disappointed with the change because the targeted version was great vs stealthers. However, this new version is super wide and nicer for pve because it sticks with you yet won't hit anything not already in combat with you. What turned me around on PvP was . I never used it much in BFA because of the constant preplanning on its placement. Now with Starfall sticking with you, the only thing you need to track is the spell duration and you can cast on the move continuously in pvp. While sacrificing some damage when maintaining, it's also great fun combined with the plethora of ways druids are mobile and can root/slow others.

Starfall WILL hit any target in combat with ANYTHING. This means those npcs fighting each other will be hit by your Starfall, regardless if you yourself are not in combat with them.

I've been using it and it's not hitting enemies outside a few yards. Seems random. Works best if I'm in melee range.

Spell is completely broken. I found out about some mounts I didn't have from Shadowlands, so I took my druid to farm them and I needed redeemed souls. Fastest way to farm souls is Tourghast. I hit starfall, but it ignores EVERYTHING in the dungeon. Now I literally have to sit there and spam Moonfire for each mob and every god!@mned phylactery because this class has absolutely no other AOE.

I targeted a mob 10-15 yds away next to another. Hit SF and the stars fell about 3 yards from me and zero damage to main target or neighbors. You could say it's useless but it does have some up close use. On the other hand, if you use that, then you're ignoring other abilities to do greater damage and so in reality, it's a negative option. And Blizzard really doesn't seem to give a rat's ass.
