It took me a few times to do the How to Glide with Your Dragon, it appears that if you miss the first ring, the others don't seem to register either.

You don't need to use your space bar at all, just mount your Renewed Proto-Drake, move to the edge of the ledge, point your camera at the first ring and walk off the edge.

If you miss a ring and stall out due to running out of Vigor click the Bronze Timepiece in your bags to return to the start. Beats waiting for your Vigor to recharge and then hope you can get enough momentum to get back on track.

I present You Storyline In Defense of Life. This Storyline is part of Waking Hope which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Storyline in order I done it:

1. For the Benefit of the Queen - Speak with Majordomo Selistra 55 30.9 then He will take you to Queen 62.3 72.9 , You need to speak with Her and Movie will start
2a. The Mandate of the Red - Speak with 4 NPC in order: 60.7 74 Xius, 59.4 72.4 Akxall, 61.5 68.7 Mother Elion and 62.7 70.4 Zahkrana. Don't do Training Wings Pick it up but go first to do Dragonriding.
2b. Dragonriding - Speak with Lord Andestrasz to get Your DRAGON MOUNT ! After conversation You will get Renewed Proto-Drake and learn Dragonriding. Now every time You use Renewed Proto-Drake Dragonriding will be activated.
4. How to Glide with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. When You press jump button You will fly up, Skill 1 Is going fast forward and ect. FROM THIS QUEST IS START GUIDE HOW TO USE DRAGONS FLY.
5. How to Dive with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. Reward Bronze Timepiece
6. How to Use Momentum with Your Dragon - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 57.4 59.1 when you will finish quest NPC will teleport You back. Reward Bronze Timepiece
7. The Skytop Observatory - Use Renewed Proto-Drake then jump off the platform and fly through the circles then land 75.1 55 and speak with Lord Andestrasz.
8. A New Set of Horns - Use Rostrum of Transformation 74 58.1 is a platform on ground big but i did not see at start xD. Reward Rostrum Cipher Now You can costomize Your Dragon.
9. Dragon Glyphs and You - Collect Dragon Glyph 74.3 57.5 is over ground then speak with Lithragosa ( 2nd option ) to open dragon skills now you can learn new skill. After all speak with Celormu.
10. Return to the Ruby Lifeshrine - Fly to Queen Alexstrasza the Life-Binder 62.3 72.9.
11. Training Wings - Now You can go back to this Quest. Use Ruby Whelpling to Kill: 12 Agitated Weedling, 6 Intrusive Pupstinger and 1 Relentless Gust. I use instant kill 1 for killing and skill 2 to move lower lever to get to other mobs.
12. Who Brought the Ruckus? - Follow Alexstrasza the Life-Binder to 59.6 72.5 Movie will start.
13. The Primary Threat - Fly to Commander Lethanak 59.4 75.9
14. Basalt Assault - Slay 4 Enraged Cliff 59.2 78.2 , 60.9 77.7 , 57.7 76.3 are 2 of them. During this Quest You can do Clear the Battlefield auto Quest.
15a. Egg Evac - Rescue 4 eggs: Azure Egg 57.3 83.2, Bronze Egg 56.1 81.2, Ruby Egg 55 81, Emerald Egg 55.3 83.2
15b. Proto-Fight - Kill 3 Elite Proto-dragons use Ruby Spear for pull and extra dmg to kill them fast.
17. Cut Off the Head - Kill Jadzigeth 53.5 83.4 Use Ruby Spear to do it fast then Movie will start.
18. Exeunt, Triumphant - Fly to 46.1 78.3 and speak with Majordomo Selistra Video will start, Storyline will finish after that.

Main Rewards During This Storyline are: Renewed Proto-Drake, learn using Dragons Skills and Costomize them, As well You will Get Renewed Proto-Drake: Spined Tail, Renewed Proto-Drake: Subtle Horns, Renewed Proto-Drake: Finned Crest, Renewed Proto-Drake: Curved Horns.

For the first gliding part i did not see the landing spot and missed it. I fell off the cliff. the quest says completed but there is no way to get back up there to turn it in.
Any one else have this problem?

Looking at one of the videos. The rings are much closer than what we are seeing in the current configuration. Has the quest been changed to make it more difficult?

Once you jump off, press BOTH mouse buttons and use the mouse to steer! If you are on a Mac, that means command click hold…AND STEER!

so this is weird. I've been commenting on this with different alts. My first was in Beta and impossible for me. 2nd was on my first live alt and it went so smooth. 3rd was difficult again until what thought was the trick - using the forward arrow. 4th now using that exact same thing and I have totally different mechanics. All of my earlier comments here are gone. Frustrated and going to go watch a movie.

IF YOU LOSE YOUR DRAGON RIDING SPELLS--go check the General spells tab in your spellbook. Dragon riding is there with a fly-out that has all the riding spells. I lost the "climb" spell and screwed up twice trying to figure out where to get another one (including dropping the spell).

Need help. I had the dragon mount in my bag but it disappeared when I clicked on it. So now I don't have a dragon mount and can't do anything. Suggestions?

If you take the Dragon Ferry back up any progress you have made will be erased. Get some height back in some other way and continue the glide.

Racking your brain trying to figure out flying with a mouse? Hold both mouse buttons and point the mouse where you want to go. You'll go there. Do this as you fall off the tower to the rings and you'll dive right through. Only took me a week to figure that out.

After weeks of being unable to do this, I finally found how to get shot of these horrible dragonriding games and move on to the proper stories.

For the first three quests (gliding, diving momentum). I got on the dragon and aimed at any ring I could see from the parapet. If I passed through it, I made the dragon jump to go upwards and tried to aim for another ring if I saw one. If I missed, I let the dragon fall to the ground. The secret I found at this point is not to give up the quest or use the timer thing, because using that sets it all to zero again. Not using the timer meant I kept the score for the rings I had managed to pass. Once the blue ovals on the screen filled up again, I made the dragon jump again and tried to get near a ring. Each time I passed through a new ring, it added to the score and it didn't matter in what order or direction I passed through nor how many times I tried. Once I had all the rings, I tried jumping up to the landing target until I managed that. Climbing some rocks to get higher before jumping helped me to reach the rings and the landing target. I'm not sure whether it matters, but I made sure I stayed inside the blue quest area marked on the minimap until I had finished the quest I was on. I needed very many attempts, but finally got through all the rings for all three of these quests.

For the final quest, ignore the guy who tries to force you to race him to the observatory. Just make your way to the bottom of the observatory in your own time by any route you want. There is a "ferry" there, which will take you to the top. Once you are at the top, the quest is marked as completed.

I have spent 3 hours on this quest and made over 100 attempts. I have spent another hour searching for solutions. I have tried all the tips on within this topic. Nothing works. I am giving up and assuming I will never be successful. It is causing me to hate the game and not be fun anymore.

Is there any way to bypass this quest and continue the dragon isles or is it hopeless?

How to Glide with Your Dragon

Description

Let us start with the basics. If you fly straight you will wear yourself out right now. Use gravity as an aid and aim slightly down to fly a long distance. The rings will give you the general angle that you should use for basic gliding. First, call upon your mount. Then, fly through the rings and land at the target location. If you find yourself stuck, use the Bronze Timepiece and Celormu will reset you.
