This fight is moderate in regards to difficulty.

Boss abilities
tethering spear. This will create a chain between you and the location it is cast you will see an grey swirly indicating this. It cannot be line of sighted this was patched. It will slow movement speed as you try to move away from it and will also drag you into it's AOE which does damage. It can be broken with Herald's footpads equipment. You can use pillars to avoid the dragging effect as they will hold you in place
Ascended Barrage. Kalisthene will fly up into the air and bombard the area you are in with spears. Avoid this at all cost as it is lethal.

For wisdom her new ability is a leap. She will fly up in the air and leap to your locaton which will show a swirl under your feet, simply move out of the way

Fight Strategy.
For this fight choose pelagos and as your equipment choose herald's footpads. I would still fight her near a pillar so that way you can use it to hold you in place and not have to worry about the dragging effect of the chains. I would break the chains honestly after the second chains. If she does do another chain before ascended barrage just move around avoiding the attack. I would recommend your shield from confront memories and dps boss when it is safe so you don't get drug into the tethering spear or hit by ascended barrage.

I'm sure this can be done - the videos are evidence of that. I, unfortunately, cannot get Kalisthene down to below about 75%. It seems a waste of time to me. I suppose I'll keep burning through the medallions until I run out, but that's about it.

Kalisthene hits hard, you don't. Kalisthene stops you avoiding damage by moving, and the cooldown on the footpads is 30 secs.

This is suprisingly easy with Mikanikos. I had not much experience with him, but killed it first try. And I hate the path, the vehicle-fighting has been miserable for me.

okay so ive been trying to do this for the transmogs ahahahaha going a little crazy here, none of the mats i need will drop so i keep beating kalisthene without equipment, idk if thats the issue, but when i beat her the quest item isnt in the chest and i have no idea what to do at this point.

Defeat Kalisthene in the Path of Ascension with any soulbind.
