If you forget after you turn in the quest, you can upgrade Benthic Armor at NPC Voidbinder Sturzah (40, 53 at Mezzamere in Nazjatar).

Once you use your Benthic gear, creating a piece of armor for your spec and item level. The upgrade will cost 20 Prismatic Manapearl and upgrade your item by +15.

Is there a follow up to this quest? I'd rather not do it, because the item I received is &*!@ compared to others.

It seems we can upgrade, disenchant, or vendor our Benthic gear before getting this quest. So don't be like me and disenchant it.

Edit: I tried contacting support to restore my gear, they told me to buy another piece. ):

So if you've already upgraded, disenchanted, or vendored the item and didn't get quest credit, you'd need to obtain a new piece and upgrade it to get credit.

You have a choice here. One that's not obvious. You can upgrade one piece tp 400 or BUY four brand new 385 pieces.
Imo buy the four pieces and wait on the upgrade. It will make the first week or two in this content much less aggravating.
And fwiw I wouldn't buy Head, Shoulders, of Chest since you most likely already have those at the 375 ilevel which is
less of an upgrade in all likelihood than the other pieces. As always YMMV.

If you like me, having a blond moment, and did not "use" the item to get the gear - it cannot be upgraded.
So use the item and then it can be upgraded. :)

For some reason, this quest is just... not offered. Any hidden pre-requisites? Reputation lock-outs? Ssecrettttssss? I've just run through a chunk of storyline including a cut scene, gotten *this close* to being revered with The Unshackled, and this is supposedly the "next step" but... nothing. ?

Confirmed that you can spend all 20 manapearls on 4 Benthic gear pieces. Was still able to do the quest to open world quests just fine after. Ended up abandoning the quest afterwards and no issues really.

Great for alts where you're just trying to gear up, and not planning on playing a ton.

the helm shoulders and chest are not named benthic ***********
so i assume youhave to upgrade another piece that is named benthic *******

Logging into wowhead to learn anything helpful about this...
has turned out to be a waste of time...
which lets face it is what happens about 1/2 the time.

What is the right answer... which will complete the quest?

can upgrade one of the pieces with the azurite traits
or must I
upgrade one of my Benthic pieces ... of which i have one in all 6 slots?

So where do you find more Benthic armor? I traded my piece to one of my other toons since the ilvl was garbage for my main.

I was on auto pilot after leveling a few characters. I upgraded before accepting the quest and had no manapearl to upgrade. Don't waste your time, you will not see the chests on the map yet. Just skip and talk to Neri Sharpfin near the conch to start Settling In.

Okay! For those having issues completing the second part of this quest:
Strap in, because here we go!

I tried this 3 times.
The first 2 times I left the zone, went to a dungeon/raid, and logged out.
I tried all the reload UI, get rid of addons, blah blah blah...
Nothing, nada. I even bought the second piece!

3rd Time is the charm.

I dropped the quest, logged out, repaired the game files, picked the quest back up, obtained a piece through WQ's, stood IN FRONT OF the void guy, discovered/created the piece, and upgraded it right then and there.

Success FINALLY!

There must be a bug or something that keeps us from completing the quest either during a time period, if we leave the zone, or log out.

So, be a smart alick like me and stack on the guy so he actually sees it. Good Luck and hope this helps!

If the confirmatory popup flashes up and disappears when you click upgrade but the upgrade isn't performed, disabling the addon Auto Confirm Static Popups may help. It helped me.

Couldn't figure out why this quest and the next one in the chain weren't available after completing A Way Home ...

1. You MUST complete Magni's Questline starting with Essential Empowerment first.

2. The last quest in the above chain will lead you back to New Home where you can either pick up this quest or, if you prefer (or you accidentally sold/DE'd your Benthic gear), you can just skip it and pickup Settling In from Neri Sharpfin.

I have ElvUI and some other addons, it would not let me upgrade my armor piece. It looked like it was successful, but it never triggered. Disabled all my addons, then it worked.
