I believe you need to have one of your followers to rank 3 and have the quest Clearing Out the Cache finished before you can pick up this quest.

While everyone is correct, it does take 10 days to complete with dailies, you can speed it up a bit. But only if you're lucky.
Get the Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape to gain access to Mrrl's second daily shop item. On occassion an Ominous Looking Tome will spawn. This tome rewards ALL 3 followers with 150 exp. Since the Friends In Need quest is a combined total across all 3, just using one of this item adds 450 points of progress.

I had 600 experience when I started this quest. It will take 8 days to finish the rest.

I would advise not stressing over it as you'll grind for flying reputation or Benthic upgrades anyway.

I find it funny that they put a 10-day time wall on the Nazjatar storyline when during those 10 days you can very easily gather the necessary equipment to go to The Eternal Palace LFR and kill Azshara therefore finishing the Nazjatar storyline before you even got to progress through it...

I might have missed it in the patch notes from a recent update, but as of today my alts are showing you now only need 2400 combined xp to complete this quest, not 3000 anymore. Might be a catch up mechanic but a little peeved that I'd already done the 3000 on a few alts before this lol. Nice reduction for the remaining alts though.

One thing to add to this is the algan guys can drop an item which gives 100 xp to each follower, think it's once per week drop, most from the 3 rares. They're somewhat of a pain to spawn, 1 needs a pet, drowned hatchling, 1 needs you to kill one of the big rays in front of them (the big fooker flying around, that has like 8m hp alone...) and the other needs a smaller algan killed in front. I just do the pet spawn since Drowned Hatchling was cheap on my realm AH. Summon in front of the big algan in Zin-Azshari and good to go.

Description

I doubt that will be the last we've seen of Priscilla, but at least she is no longer one of our immediate concerns. We must think carefully before making our next move. In the meantime we should continue to build upon our relationship with our new allies, the Ankoan. Work with them to secure the area and hone their skills, we're not out of the woods yet. I fear the biggest battle is still to come. Let's show them that together we can take on Azshara's forces and succeed!
