Mephistroth is the final boss of Cathedral of Eternal Night, the new dungeon added in 7.2. It has Heroic and Mythic modes.

Is this needed to complete Pathfinder, Part Two? I know a lot of people love running dungeons, I'm not one of them. If this is an optional quest, fine, I can live without the higher level Artifact relic. And, actually, the rewards are downgrades from what I'm wearing atm. So, please tell me this isn't needed for pathfinder, part two.

If you head towards it on your map and find yourself at the raid portal... turn left and run around a bit to get to the dungeon portal and stone.

Can I just make what sounds like a fairly basic presumption, but seems to be lost on a lot of dungeon party/raid group leaders. High iLvl is NO guarantee of a player being any use at this kind of instance!
There are plenty of players out there who have been able to acquire high level gear (& therefore boost iLvl) from the AH. Setting a min iLvl on DF/RF for your group does not mean that an 880/90 etc. has any more clue of how to cope with specific mechs or mobs than say, an 850. This is more of an issue in Legion than previous expansions as players need to complete dungeon/raid instances to complete certain quest lines. This means that a lot of previously exclusive solo/casual players now have to undertake group tasks & work with other players, a situation that for a lot of these folks is alien.
Yes, it is a pain to have to check toon history, but may save a lot of failed attempts to kill bosses. For those dungeon/raid newbies who think they have a 'kill all comers' iLvl, please cut your teeth on Normal/Heroic first. You know it's no fun getting wiped, or booted. For what it's worth this is one tough mother of a dungeon even in Heroic.

Has anyone else had completion of the dungeon fail to complete the quest Altar of the aegis? I completed it on heroic with a squad through the dungeon finder. We defeated all the bosses and Mephistroph fairly quickly. Nothing happened then and Kill Mephistroph was not marked done. I searched for any npc or clickable item I might have missed thoughout the cleared areas and found nothing. There was no pop up dialogue or cut scene. Any help is appreciated. I turned in a ticket but no response as of yet.

Does anyone know if this quest is a requirement to get the class mounts? It doesn't hinder the completion of the rest of the campaign but I'd like to be sure.

For some reason Mature Morrowsprout and Fel Command Beacon have no sell price, so if you don't need any of the rewards pick something else.

Grab Maiev's quest before this one or else she will run off to roleplay with Illidan and you'll have to return later to get her to respawn.

I got kicked from a group right before the last fight (because I died and the healer didn't want to rez me). If that happens you are locked out of the quest for the rest of the week and can't do this quest...

The Legionfall quest chain opens up Broken Shore & lets you farm nethershards for 850 gear & more from vendor. It also opens up an extra follower slot on your mission table later on. Try and kill rares (skull mobs on map) as you find them for chance at Legendary & Sentinax beacons that you will need for the Marks of the Sentinax quest:

Speak to Archmage Khadgar on Krasus' Landing ,
(choose skip if done before), opens up Broken Shore WQ. Note: you don't need to do Khadgar: or Velen: unless you want to do ToS raid)
Khadgar: - you will get the item from random mob loot
Commander Chambers: to open up construction table & to open up Flight Path & Excavator Karla's quest chain
At Aalgen Point, Heidirk the Scalekeeper for to open up FP there (tip: bring adds to camp entrance & NPCs will help you)
Do enough Broken Shore world quests/open boxes to get 100 Legionfall Supplies for the quest
contribute the supplies via the Construction Table
Help construct one of the 3 buildings currently up, e.g. , to gain the building buff for the next few days (map will show you when a new one is available)
Maiev Shadowsong: - time gate, you will need to wait until the next Legion Assault shows on your map (timer to next one/for current one is on WoWHead front page). These tend to start at 16:30 or 10:00 (EU server time) every other day.
Khadgar: - on accepting the quest they will then run away (/reload or logging out will get them back) - Heroic/Mythic dungeon - your gear needs at least 825 item level for LfG queue
Excavator Karla: originally this was a daily quest for 5 days, but as of 7.3.5 newly levelled chars can run at once. It opens a handy every-other-day quest for easy loot (gold, nethershards, order resources, pet etc)

Spiders, Huh?] - down the hill to the South. Fly/ride due North to Creeping Grotto to locate chest at .
- North past the hijacked portal, through the Cinder Run, into the Soul Ruin and turn left into the crashed legion ship
- North East to Tomb of Sargeras (beware elite mobs in front if riding rather than flying), turn left through arch, then right to inner loop (to avoid mobs), then 3 more arches
- underwater to the South East, past the half-sunken 3 masted ship. Pick up a on the way down for 2 mins water breathing & swim speed. Under the rock arch to your right at
Felrage Strand to the North East, from the Aalgen FP, through the Path of Suffering, turn left before the bonfire

Come back the next day to pick up the final quest

At this point, you will need to progress your Class Hall quest campaign and research to progress further along the Champion of Legionfall quest line.

Legionfall Campaign:

***Note: It is recommended to work on the treasure finding quests the goblins south-west of Deliverance Point give you, in order for you to have eight world quests available when it comes time to complete them for step 11. The goblin's last quest isn't available until the following day/reset. Their final quest opens up the world quest Treasure Master Iks'reeged.

1. Assault on the Broken Shore (Intro Scenario)

2. Legionfall Supplies (Collect 100 order resources)

3. Aalgen Point (Visit flightplan)

4. Vengeance Point (Visit flightplan)

5. Begin Construction (Use construction table to donate Legionfall War Supplies to the construction of a building)

6. Altar of the Aegis (NOT REQUIRED!) (Accepting the quest will cause the NPCs to run away. Relogging will cause them to reappear)

7. Defending Broken Isles (Defeat a Legion invasion in the Broken Isles). If one is not available, it is recommended to continue on your class hall questline if it hasn't been completed yet. There will not be a follow-up quest to Defending Broken Isles unless you have completed your class hall campaign.

8. Champions of Legionfall (Return to your class order hall and recruit a new champion)

9. Shard Times (Collect 2500 Nethershards to give to Khadgar)

10. Mark of the Sentinax (Collect 50 Marks of the Sentinax)

11. Self-Fulfilling Prophecy (Complete 8 world quests on the Broken Shore)

12. Intolerable Infestation (Slay 50 demons in Faronaar or Felsoul Hold)

13. Relieved of Their Valuables (Find 3 Hidden Wyrmtongue Caches on the Broken Shore)

14. Take Out The Head... (Slay 3 Rare Elites on the Broken Shore)

15. Championing Our Cause (Successfully complete a Legionfall mission at your Class Order Hall) (The mission can be put in before ever accepting this quest, but do not complete/accept the rewards from the mission before accepting this quest in order to get quest credit.)

16. Strike Them Down (Slay 100 demons on the Broken Shore)

The Legionfall Campaign is then complete, and you should receive a quest from an NPC at Deliverance Point to start your class mount questline.

----The Deceiver's Downfall (Not mandatory!)
----Pillars of Creation (Not mandatory!)

The two quests listed above are definitely not required for the Legionfall Campaign (or to get your class mount).

Cathedral of Eternal Night: Altar of the Aegis

Defeat Lord Mephistroth and place the Aegis of Aggramar upon the Altar of Eternal Night.

Description

Champion, we are ready to assault the Tomb of Sargeras. I studied the writings of Aegwynn, the Guardian who defeated the Dark Titan's avatar. She said that if her wards were compromised, a failsafe could be triggered by placing the Aegis of Aggramar upon an altar in the Cathedral of Eternal Night. You are the hero who acquired the Pillars of Creation, <name>. Gather your allies and enter the Cathedral. Be warned: Mephistroth will use all his power to stop you from placing the Aegis. You must prevail!
