These mobs are ALLREADY dead. their name (Withered Husk) appears in grey but the are lootable corpses. Located to the west of the questgiver and up the hill. The drop rate appears to be 100%

This will make finishing this quest a lot quicker:

1) For your Mini-Map selections(Magnifier Icon) check Target.

2) Make a macro with the following
/target withered

3) Drag that macro to an action bar slot and keep spamming it as you go about.

You can loot them while mounted. If you're just finishing up the zone after leveling, doing it on your flying mount is trivial.

Can be looted while mounted as this does not un-mount you so no need to fight off mobs.

Whenever I get to the quest zone, everything phases out, due to the 8.3 Kor'vess filled with lvl 120 Kor'thiks... I can't get all the Klaxxi paragons for the Wakener this way...

(still broken in 9.1, same solution still stands it seems.)

AS OF 8.3 this quest is broken (atleast for 120 players), you get phased into the 120 version of the zone for a vale quest.

Go to 44.0 7.0, on the oterside of the big log bridge, there is a small section that DOES NOT phase into 120.
here you can kill a bunch of Kor'thik Mantid for quest -> Kor'thik Aggression
here you can loot 2 corpses for Fragrant Corewood for quest -> Bound With Wood

you might have to wait for respawns, its not IDEAL ofc, but its a temporary walkaround i found.

(you can also complete the quest chain given by Taoshi (as in destroy the 5 crystals, and do the reconinace misson after), as that will then phase the area back to lvl 90)

Ok so good and bad news.

Good News:
As of 4 SEP 2022, you can still complete this quest. I was able to complete this quest with a Level 60 character. There is one spawn at 44.42,7.38 which will have the Fragrant Corewood. Go out of the tunnel and go directly to the right. Stand right there and click.

Bad news:
There is only one. You have to wait for the respawn which is about 5 minutes. While you can see other mobs with the sparkly, do not fall for it. Take about five steps forward and they will disappear. You are basically standing right on top of the instance or zone line.

So in about 40-45 minutes you can complete the quest.

If you're stuck because of phased out objectives (Treant corpses vanish as you approach), completing this questline should fix it: Once More Into Kor'vess

(Broken since 8.3; still broken as of 10.0.0)

You're likely to get stuck on two quests because of phasing (Bound With Wood & Wood and Shade).

Now, once you go back to Dread Wastes for those two quests, phasing shouldn't be an issue :)

If you are stuck on Bound With Wood, Wood and Shade, and Kor’thik Aggression quests in Dread Wastes and are a fully leveled toon, you must go to Zidormi in Vale of Eternal Blossom (/way 81.13, 29.43) and change your timeline to present time and then complete Taoshi’s questline (/way 13.6, 75.4) as follows:

1. Reflections in Amber
2. Once More into Kor’vess
3. Crippling the Hive
4. Rotten at the Roots (/way 47.0, 16.0)
5. Amber Secrets
6. Old Faces, New Problems
7. A Unified Swarm
8. Heart of the Swarm
9. The Mantid Threat (/way 40.14, 75.26)

If you do not do this, you will not be able to move forward with the Dread Wastes questline. On another note, when I went to present time, it turned out that I had already completed the 1st (3) quests in Taoshi’s questline. I ended up having to abandon the dread waste quests to get Taoshi to appear alongside me at Kor’Vess offering me the Rotten at the Roots quest.

I hope this helps someone. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to complete Dread Wastes as a level 70 in Dragon Flight.

Hmm... "bound with wood". We don't typically brew with wood. Sap, yes... but not wood.

We have, on rare occasions, infused our drinks with corewood from the treants to the west of here. Most of them have fallen to the mantid... but their remains should suffice for our recipe.
