A lot of people were asking in game on Cenarius where these things are. They are the big termite mounds located outside the main walls of the fortress. There is one to the north of the road, and another amost directly south.

if you dont look to closely...they look like giant rocks....but as im oblivious to details its the "stone piles" outside the main entrance

Just added two screens (still waiting for aproval)
First will show you what to look for out side the wall, and the second what will happen after you use Bucket of Burning Pitch.

Know that during this quest, Silithid Swarmers are spawned. These are tameable as exotic pets for hunters.

Best place in game for Medium Leather and Heavy Leather farming. Got 10+ stacks of each per hour as a 37 worgen balance druid. Just ran between the two spawn points right outside Fort Triumph, using quest item and then thorns.

IThis is for the stupid players like me who need it spelled out for us.... For this quest you need do only two things. 1) go to the termite mounds immediately outside the walls of the fort; 2) click on your burning pitch icon. lol. No one said to click on your pitch icon and I was wandering around waiting for silithids to come get some.... they won't folks.

There is one problem. When i walk up to those mounds and i use the item, it automatically cancels and says "Requires Slithid Mound". I walked up to every single one of those mounds, but nothing works. Could someone help me please?

Can confirm that as of this posting, the swarmers CAN be tamed. The become "Aqirl" and swell up to regular size, like five times larger than the swarmers. They are cunning, and have tendon rip as their special ability.

Working the Bugs Out

Use the Bucket of Burning Pitch on the silithid mounds outside of Fort Triumph to flush out and kill 10 Silithid Swarmers.

Description

Why high command decided that a silithid mound was the ideal place to build a fortress, I'll never know. Them lil' buggers are tunneling under our fortifications and setting back our timetables. We need to scorch 'em out!

Take this here bucket of burning pitch and dump it on the silithid mounds right outside the main gate. They look like big piles of sand. Kill anything that comes out, but be careful, <name> - them nasties are likely to swarm you when you light those mounds up.
