The first two times I used the wands on ogres, they became my pets, while the remaining two times they just became very angry. So, if you want a big, chubby ogre pet-friend for a couple of minutes, this is the quest for you! They even attack on your command. Eventually, though, control breaks and you do have to kill them.

I'm not sure if the 'charm' is an effect of just two of the wands, or all four, with the resulting 'charm' being random and resistable.

If you're a hunter and you would like the ogre to not become friendly to you after you use a wand, lay an ice trap and then use the wand. After you use the wand, you'll get credit, and then you can feign your death to get the ogre off you. This makes it easier because the ogres won't follow you around and suddenly and unpredictably turn hostile.

I found the ogres at 71,74.. they are called Dullgrom Dredgers.
You use the wands on the ogres with the concussion symbol on the head.

The Infused Vekh'nir Crystal is stackable - all four of them. So you only need 1 room in you'r bag to pick them up. Thought the wands you get is not stackable! So you need 5 room in your bag totall, for the crystal and the wands.

You can use more than one wand on an ogre, and you can use the wands on an ogre that's in combat as long as you don't get interrupted.

In my experience, you can use wand two and three whenever, but wand one and four have charm effects on them, so you have to wait for the first charm to wear off before you start the second one. I would suggest casting the wands in reverse order: 4, 3, 2, 1.

Funny thing. These mind-controlled Ogres count as Bloodmaul ones.

When entering the cave, I was hoping to get some crystals there, but after cleaning the entire cave about twice, I still hadn't aquired any... I went to the arrakoa camp in the east (78,75) and got 4 crystals in about 8 kills. So I strongly recommend picking up those crystals outside before going into the cave.

I was doing this quest, and the drop rate didnt seem to be that high, about 15% i'd say. All you have to do is go into the cave or around the entrance of the cave and kill the birdmen, then use the wands on the ogres. Confirming that wands 1 and 4 both have a charm effect. Wand 1 holds for 2 mins, which isnt actually that long. If ur on Understanding the Mok'Nathal http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10846 i suggest doing that quest along with this one, as they are both unlocked by The Stones of Vek'nir http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10565 .

The easiest way to complete this quest is kill the humanoid birds for some crystals. Collect all four then head to the entrace of the cave. Find a orge near one of the rock stones. Land on top of the stone, (you will enter combat but the orge will be unable to reach you). You can then test all four wands. The orge will evade each one but it still counts and you dont have to try and find orges without the humanoid birds nearby.

usr quest items on Ogers , i used green one forst and it couse the oger my minion but after about 3 min he changed to attack me ! bule one made them anemy ! red was like blue ! and last one like Green ! be careful ! thay will betray you (that Ogers that became to minion )

Quest was a huge pain in the arse for me -- the aggro range on the ogres is almost exactly the range you need to be at in order to use the wands on them, and wouldn't you know it, the wand's cast is interruptable by damage. Some very careful nudging is required, and being ready with a slow or stun effect probably wouldn't hurt, either, so that you can actually USE the wand.

On the bright side, the crystals you need have a pretty excellent drop rate.

You receive a bag which contains the 4 wands. I didn't notice right away. Took me some time to figure out.

Try out each of Dertrok's wands on an Arakkoa Ogre Slave. Each wand will require an Infused Vekh'nir Crystal to use.

Description

I've fashioned four wands that I believe will enhance the power of the arakkoa's crystals. Take these wands to Trogma's Claim, and try them on the ogre slaves.

You'll need to find an infused crystal off of the arakkoa in the area.

When you figure out which is best, come back to me.
