You can fish in the lava around his platform and it seems to have the same loot table as generic freshwater around the isles.

Overview – Smolderon showcases his worth as a Firelord by utilizing his weapon Emberscar to great effect. He marks his enemies with [Brand of Damnation] while also igniting them with [Overheated].
Upon reaching 100 energy, Smolderon slams Emberscar into the ground. He then feasts on players' essence while overwhelming them with [World In Flames].

Stage One: The Firelord's Fury

Brand of Damnation – Smolderon decimates his primary target, inflicting 2618837 Physical damage and afflicting them with Searing Aftermath. An additional 650 Fire damage is split evenly among all players within 9 yards of the primary target.
All players hit by the effect are branded and afflicted with Cauterizing Wound.
If Brand of Damnation fails to hit at least 5 players, 70 Fire damage is inflicted to all players and Smolderon gains a stack of Heating Up.
- Cauterizing Wound – Emberscar's brand cauterizes the player, causing them to absorb 843763 healing.
  Removing the absorb creates a Cauterized Explosion at the player's location 3 sec later.
  - Cauterized Explosion – A fiery explosion inflicts 598591 Fire damage to all players within 6 yards.
- Emberscar's Mark – Emberscar brands the player, increasing damage taken from Brand of Damnation by 500%.
  Being struck by Devour Essence removes the effect.
Overheated – Smolderon ignites multiple players, causing them to inflict 14 Fire damage every 2 sec to players within 5 yards for 10 sec.
Upon expiration, the player explodes inflicting 224472 Fire damage to players within 5 yards and expels Flame Waves.

  Being struck by Devour Essence removes the effect.
Seeking Inferno – Smolderon creates several Seeking Infernos that fixate upon random players. Players who touch a Seeking Inferno become afflicted with Inferno.
When one reaches its target or after 30 sec, it explodes and inflicts 93530 Fire damage to all players. This explosion causes all players to take 2000% increased damage from Seeking Inferno for 3 sec.
- Inferno – The Seeking Inferno ignites the player, inflicting 59859 Fire damage every 1 sec for 4 sec.
Overheated – Smolderon ignites multiple players, causing them to inflict 14 Fire damage every 2 sec to players within 5 yards for 10 sec.
Upon expiration, the player explodes inflicting 224472 Fire damage to players within 5 yards and expels Flame Waves.
In Heroic difficulty, when Overheated expires Flame Waves spawn around the target.
- Flame Waves – Flame Waves inflict 598591 Fire damage and knock back any player they come in contact with.
Lava Geysers – Smolderon stomps the ground causing plumes of lava to erupt nearby random players. These Lava Geysers inflict 70 Fire damage and knock back any players struck.
When the lava settles, a pool of Smoldering Ground is left behind.
- Smoldering Ground – Smoldering ground inflicts 187060 Fire damage every 1 sec to any player standing within.
Blistering Heat – Smolderon's body incinerates the air, inflicting 47139 Fire damage to all players every 3 sec.

Stage Two: World In Flames

Devour Essence – Smolderon slams Emberscar into the ground to feast on branded players' essence, knocking back all players.
Any player branded with Emberscar's Mark additionally releases Living Flames.
- Living Flame – Living Flames drift towards Smolderon when created. Collecting a Living Flame inflicts 22447 Fire damage and applies Ignited Essence to the player.
  Each Living Flame that reaches Smolderon increases his damage done by 5%.
  - Ignited Essence – Players can collect Living Flames to increase their damage done by 20% and healing done by 10% for 20 sec. This effect stacks, but collecting additional flames does not extend the duration.
World In Flames – Smolderon channels his blazing soul into Emberscar, periodically causing bursts of fire to engulf portions of the arena. This inflicts 598591 Fire damage and applies Lingering Burn to all players caught within the blast.
- Lingering Burn – World In Flames' bursts sear the player, inflicting 40 Fire damage every 1 sec over 10 sec. This effect stacks.
Heating Up – Upon reaching 100 energy Smolderon ignites into flames, increasing his damage done by 10%. This effect stacks.
After Heating Up 4 times, Smolderon gains the ability to cast Encroaching Destruction.
- Encroaching Destruction – Smolderon combusts, continuously casting World In Flames until all players succumb to their demise.
Blazing Soul – Smolderon sets his soul ablaze, increasing the frequency Blistering Heat occurs from every 3 sec to 1 sec and damage by 70% for 30 sec.
