Tips for hunting with Chordy

It doesn't matter where you are looking for treasure, as long as Chordy can do his search, you can find all the items. So find somewhere that is flat and enemy free. Places I like include by covenant hall (in the main inside area) and the bank area in Oribos.
This is less of an activity to farm and more of a mindless distraction - when to do it, instead of running around Oribos in circles late at night like we know we all do. I really don't even pay attention to what I'm looting, I just keep clicking and searching.
Do follow Chordy while he's looking because there's a decent amount of the time that it spawns at his location. I feel like he tries to take you to the right spot but it doesn't always work. If it doesn't, start checking your known spawn points in the area (see below for tips on this). Also, do pay attention to where Chordy went at the start it's worth retracing those steps.
It is helpful to search from a consistent point, this limits the places that Chordy can put the items and so you learn where you need to check.
Don't search for too long because the items despawn, if you haven't found it and the timer's up, go back to your spot and start a new search.

So after 50 attempts at using Chordy, I got 50 x Shattered Memento, and on the last one I got 6 x Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments. So, the odds aren't great. Only got something other than a Shattered Memento *once*.

This guy has some of the worst pathing I have ever seen. I was in a large flat area and this dude went and spawned the item on top of a frikkin tree. Not even just once, but several times on different trees. You basically have to be in a completely flat area with nothing you cant climb to be able to claim it IF you manage to get to it in time before it despawns which I swear is like less than 10 seconds.

Guys, i guess this might help you to farm garbage easier. Try to find the wall place ur character right to it and face the open area. 90% of the time u will see the spawned object (cordi will be close to it), that way made my farm easy as hell but odds are meh.. enjoy)

This little guy is so incredibly buggy as to be baffling. If you use Lucky Nose out in Maldraxxus, they'll do one of the following:

Run a few seconds and find something.
Run aimlessly and find nothing.
Disappear up a hill and not come down.
Aggro the nearest mob.

If you take Chordy to a flat space without hostile mobs, you'll discover something bizarre: The poor thing is looking for unstable space-time anomalies which might:

Appear in front of Chordy as expected.
Appear in a completely random spot.
Appear at a place Chordy stopped at but then moved away from.
Appear nowhere near any place Chordy went to.
Appear the next time you use Lucky Nose.
Not appear.
Disappear when you try to loot them.

As for loot, it's nearly always low-value trash. 75 casts returned 7 anima-touched weapon fragments (2 loots), 1 great luckydoo (250 gold + achievement), 2 cosmetic abomination items and a whopping 1 malleable flesh. You're better off doing world quests; Chordy is awkward help.

They really need to add the salvageable items to the minimap so we can find them easier. I don't like searching around for something that either a) didn't spawn, or b) spawned up a cliff, in a rock, under an NPC, or 3 miles away.

That or reduce the cooldown time on sending him on his way so we can spam it more.

Don't ever consider going stealth while this guy is around : he can't go stealth and will pull any enemy around, having you join the fight no matter what...

Edit : since last update on January 21 it looks like these companions go stealth when your character does! Yay!

To avoid the bugginess of the items disappearing I figured out that if you stand completely still while he does his thing it'll work most of the time.

Incase you forgot - like I did - how to get him to search for stuff.. because there's no longer any item in your inventory to clik, any UI button or other hint and talking to him doesn't help. (Why can't you just ask him to search for something from his dialog? That would be nice.)

He doesn't just work in Maldraxxas, I think he works in all the zones (except for Maw).

I was using him in Ardenweald while questing and he mostly found junk but I did find 7 x Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments

The best place I've found to use him is the FP level of Oribos. It's super flat, nothing obstructing the ground and you'll be surprised how often you find the stuff nowhere near where Chordy actually runs.

Another good place is Hero's Rest in Bastion. Again it's mostly flat and pretty clear. You'll be astonished how much the stuff shows up with Chordy nowhere near around.

A trick I've learned with Chordy is go to the doorway of the seat of the primus and the outside world terrace, use Lucky nose right in-between the two stairs at the doorway (dont need to be exact) and ALMOST always chordy will either run to the outside terrace to spawn the item or hell spawn it there without running to it.

At times the item will be next to you in the room.

If the item doesnt show up, SOMETIMES running in and out will cause it to spawn from zoning in and out.

I just wanna give an advise to anyone wanting to farm Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments with Chordy.

I found a good spot at the exact coord 45.95 51.97, nears where Tahonta can spawn, i can't explain why it's better but it is.
It's a really precise spot that means eveytime you get the clickable you have to replace to 45.95 51.97 to use Chordy's capacity again.

At that exact location when you gonna use Chordy you gonna notice this little fellow will mostly move less than most other locations. In a normal spot, usually and most of the time you gonna see Chordy moves in 2 two times, the first time he moves in a direction, then makes a little break and then he goes on another direction and finally he makes spawn the thing on what you must click.

With my spot, not everytime, but really most of the time you gonna watch him find the clickable in the first time, that means he won't takes his little break and change another time his direction and you gonna save more time.. As i said sometimes he might still does it but it will be more rare to see than in randoms locations. There probably other place like that in the game but i found mine by chance and i wanted to share it.

Also i wanted to add that i'm a demo warlock and i have my Tyrant that is able to buff other creatures that are with me with a purple visual effect, it made me see how the mechanic works, in fact the clickable is not spawn immediately when you press the button, there is an invisible moviing object and Chordy has to catch him to makes it become visible, this is how it works.
My coords makes probably that invisible thing spawn really nearer Chordy than other locations when you press the button, that would explains why he is able to catch him faster most likely.

Note there is also 1 problem with that spot, it's not common but sometimes the clickable might spawn on some kind of dune behind and it gonna be impossible for you to click on it, it gonna be 15sec lost for you but that's really minor compared to the time you gonna save. However you gonna be pleased to heard that there is most likely no foes around.

I also recommend you to not farm this awful quantity in one time, try to set daily objectives ro reach, like 50/100/150 a day or you gonna become crazy with that terrible RNG.

With flying there are now much better places to farm with Chordy. Without any doubt the best I've found is at

/way 27.38, 23.57

in Maldraxxus. It's the top of a tower, circular and a small area. What makes it infinitely better than any other location is that the architecture at the top does not have pathing over it, meaning that the surface of the tower is like a bowl around the edges and the items Chrody finds will never be hidden behind anything. In fact they will often be floating in the air for extra visibility. There is literally NOTHING here to obscure your view at all.

One tip I haven't seen is that sometimes the salvage will show up somewhere else from where he is running and become uninteractable. Stand on this salvage and use his search ability which will make it interactable again. If you are too slow the newly generate salvage will not be interactable though so you have to click it asap to not waste another cd.

So like most of you, I am out farming the Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments with Chordy and found a pretty perfect location.

In Maldraxxus, open your map and look at the area directly beneath the Seat of Primus and south west of House of Plagues. It's not a labeled area but it looks purple on the map. There is a tunnel system from around the area where you do the Pool of Mixed Monstrosities, and it leads to an area with non-aggro mobs. There is a pool of water in the center of the area and just random mobs running/flying around.

I have had incredible luck with farming the flat lands around and in the water, and up the side of the mountains. I like this location too because while I'm in War Mode, I'm not actually bothered, like at all (because nobody comes here), and the mobs that are running around aimlessly allow me to 1 shot them while chasing Chordy, and it keeps me from not being too bored.

If you love lore, you'll love seeing Baroness Vashj at 58, 92. (Don't worry, she doesn't attack.)
She says, "It seems my favorite fishing spot isn't safe from the intrusion of you you mortals.
I tire of trying to find solitude from your kind.
Also, don't bother the Lurker. He deserves some peace after being disturbed from his rest and murdered by you."

I started farming 3 days ago and Im currently sitting at 315 fragments. Good luck out there!

By far the fastest way to far his items: In 10 minutes i farmed 39 Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments and one Great Luckydo for the achievement The Great Luckydo with Chordy in Maldraxxus. These are my results so it could be better or worse for you depending on rng. Position on the map is above the Seat of the Primus (50-73). You can get there by flying or taking the teleport in the main base.

The way this works: According to a comment from Zetherior on wowhead the treasure will always spawn if you fly up after using Chordy's ability. I noticed sometimes this wasn't the case so i tried to perfect it. I also noticed from my own research that the treasure seems to spawn more if u walk a lot while Chordy is searching. So now i did the instant fly up + walking toward the edge of the area while looking backwards to see when the treasure spawns. For me this works 100% of the time. You also want to stay on the ground after despawning Chrody so that he respawns around the time where u find the treasure. That way you can use his ability right away again.
