Located at 58, 12 on Antoran Wastes. You will need 3 people to even summon him.

Be careful: This guy puts a dot on you called "impending doom" where after 20-something seconds, you will die. Like, you could be a mythic titanforged tank and pop all your mitigation. When that 20s dot ends, you will die.

This rare is located at Coordinates 58, 12 on Antoran Wastes. It is the northmost point, even further north than the "Everburning Doombringer."

It takes 3 players to summon Suprax by standing on 3 runes. He has a normal amount of health compared to the rest of the rares in the zone. The reason this fight is tricky is due to a spell cast on all nearby players "Impending Doom." Once you get this debuff, you have a specific amount of time before you die.

My group (5) had to pop Bloodlust as well as use Light's Judgement (5) just to kill him before our debuffs killed us. In the last attempt I noticed that Suprax will cast something called "Doom Star" and it seemed to refresh the Impending Doom debuff on the player it hit.

We managed to kill him in group of 5 DPS. Dropped Unsullied token (Baleful tokens of legion), Veiled Argunite and Legion Communication Orb But the Toy dropped just for me, after re-killing it it had no loot (for no one in the group). So imo it's the same as Tanaan Jungle rares that can be looted just once a day

Correct strategy (only needs 3 people for the summon):

Don't interrupt Doom Star. No stun, no CC.
Run into the void zones left by Doom Star to refresh your Empowered Doom debuff. Does significant damage each time (~900k) and knocks you back. It's a good idea to only do this when the timer has <5 seconds left.
Repeat until he dies.

Doomcaster Suprax rare mob can be found in Antoran Wastes.

Location: 58.1 12.4 (Runes)

There's a big violet rune painted on a platform, with three small runes around.
Players have to stand onto small ones to summon Doomcaster Suprax, so you need at least three players.
Doomcaster Suprax casts Empowered Doom which kills you after it expire.
Demon also casts Doom Star which spawns void zones that refresh Empowered Doom. As cast can be interrupted, dont use any kind of cc / interrupt.
If geared 5 ppl group, you can kill demon before you die. That's good stratege, if ppl cant read.

Warlock can effectively activate 2 runes by himself by using Demonic Gateway - just stand on one of the runes and place DG on the other.
When you teleport it should summon the boss provided the 3rd rune is covered by another player.

Pets don't seem to work as rune activators.

Just did it with 2 people (myself as a Warlock and a Mage).

EDIT: After the release of Mac'aree, it seems that a couple changes were made. Puscilla also drops a mount (Biletooth Gnasher) and Kaara the Pale does NOT seem to drop the fel-spotted egg any longer. The macros have been updated to reflect these changes. Many thanks to the people who pointed these errors out to me!

I made a group of 4 to do him today.
Laid out the mechanics... and everyone died but me pretty early on... (tank and healer included).
I ended up solo'ing 75%+ of the fight as a dps...

the mechanics are not complicated but can kill you fast.

Once summoned, this guy is soloable if you do a few simple steps throughout the fight

Cheeseable by rogues on the summon - Can pull a mob onto a rune, blind it and then shadowstep to it after activating another rune to activate two runes at once. Makes it a two man job.

Easy to summon with a hunter & champion companion I just stood on the run in the middle and he appeared. not so easy to beat if you dont get the channels interrupted. and dont pay attention to the mechanics

Is there any way to actually survive after you have killed him ? Killed him and then sat there watching the dot timer count down and bam, I'm dead. Seems like a really bad move to kill you after you succeed.

Still seems bugged, or some other factor contributing to not being able to spawn it. Tried with 4 different groups of 3 on the runes and it just won't spawn.

Nurmat comment above is correct about summoning Doomcaster Suprax with one person. I did it on my DK and popped Wrath Walk and it summoned him when I hit all three runes. I popped Lightforged Warframe and killed him before buff expired.

i had a group of 4 random and my teammates died and did corpseruns all the time. i could manage to keep the debuff running as i got into the void zones of him. it takes a little damage but if one can regenerate it somehow the doomcaster suprax can be soloed.

besides from the voids i stepped into i got like no damage from him at all tanking as a dps.

Well worth putting up as a custom raid, I tried all the suggestions of running around quickly on the runes, but none worked for me (may be not quick enough lol), only waited a few minutes for people to come on board. Also worth helping with the nearby quests such as chief alchemist or ember giant thing (sorry can't remember proper name) to invite peoples to help. Have done twice, once on just asking, once on custom raid to help out, worked both times. 3 runes, 3 people, dps him down quick. Have fun.

If you are short one person you can use a pet/minion or battle pet to cover the third rune. I summoned a battle pet and set him on the christmas sled toy on a rune to make him stay and then stood on the third rune which worked to summon the rare.

Update - 1/29/24

It has come to my attention that there is a way to solo summon him and I can confirm that it does indeed work. All you need is yourself and two alts. That is it.

1: Run yourself to Surpax and log out.

2: Log into an alt and run them to Surpax.

3: Place your alt on a rune. Your alt will glow with purple smoke.

4: Log out of your alt.

5: Repeat steps 2-4 until you have two alts all standing on runes.

6: Log into your main, step on the third rune, stab him with something pointy.

7: Despair when the toy does not drop.

8: I have also confirmed that you cannot rotate your alts to kill him multiple times, at least it didn't work for me. I moved my main off the rune, then moved one of my alts off, moved my main back on, but he still spawned. Oh, well, at least you get once a day.

This is the same method as Orumo the Observer which I have detailed there as well.

*Edit* 3/4/20 - I have returned to this place after seeing many people saying they have done this solo. Anyone that says so is lying. I have been standing on each rune, ran around clockwise, anti-clockwise, have WM off, used my pet, mounted, unmounted, Aspect of the Cheetah, and have found that NOTHING WORKS. You CANNOT summon this boss solo. Standing on a rune gives you a "Dark Ritual" buff next to your mini-map, but the instant you step off a rune, it goes away until you step on another one. Please stop giving false information on how to solo this spawn because it cannot be solo'd.

Why does blizz not understand that no one wants to group for single bosses like this? It's the same thing as the one boss in Shattrath during WoD where you had to stand on the portal things to free him. You couldn't find a group to join and no one wanted to join if you made one. I had one listed for two hours while I was rare hunting for the Commander of Argus achievement and actually forgot I had it open until someone joined up, but since it was only two of us, we still weren't getting it done.

This tactic no longer works as of Patch 8.0 - Battle for Azeroth, this is kept here for Legacy Sake.

Easy to obtain for Level 110 Hunter Solo, or anyone with a Pet/Minion Class.

1) Stand on a rune.

2) Move your pet to a rune.

3) Summon Elekk Plushie, and make sure it is placed on the rune you are standing on.

4) Run to the third and final rune.

5) ?

6) Boss Spawns. Enjoy!

Apparently if you die to the dot before killing him the runes disappear and you cant summon him again....

Summoned him today by only standing on one rune. Used Lightforged Warframe and easily soloed. Did not receive the "Impending Doom" debuff either (so did not die after 20 seconds).

Edit: Tried again today and could not summon him alone. Perhaps it's only good for the first time you summon him (i.e. for the achievement)? And subsequent summons require all 3 runes to be activated?

The monk spell Transcendence actually works, so that means it only needs two people to summon him.

Here's how I got the toy:

First I figured out you can solo summon just by mounting up and running over the runes. Then I figured out like most legion bosses you can only kill him for loot once a day. I have several max level toons so I just tried him on each one (easily killing him with the Warframe) and got the toy on the 4th toon.

Not near as hard as I thought it was going to be.

I really don't get it. Sometimes, touching a single rune is enough to summon him. Sometimes I have to run through two runes for the same effect. But more often than not, he just won't spawn no matter how many times I trigger the runes.

Seems like this is a bug that occasionally happens and allows the summon with only two people.

As of BFA release it seems you only need 1 person to stand on the Eastern rune to summon him now, worked a few times with me.

Incidentally, if you don't kill him in 30 seconds, his Empowered Doom debuff will still kill you unless you refresh it from letting Void Star cast and standing in it.

Blizzard should take rares that absolutely require other people to summon off a list like this once the expansion is obsolete (or avoid putting them in the achieve altogether). Since there really isn't much of a chance to get people interested in helping you, you're forced to get lucky, which is difficult even with CRZ. It sucks for achieve hunters, especially if you're a lone wolf due to your old guildmates and friends disappearing over the years...

I guess to some it might seem like this is a trivial complaint or some baby whining here, but with such a long list of rares, it doesn't feel like the integrity of the achievement is lost by removing one rare that your chances of seeing after legion get smaller and smaller with each future patch.

The solo summon wasn't working for me, but I had a friend use blink and displacement for 2 runes whilst I stood on the other. Someone else said transcendence works as well. I'm sure other classes have their ways too.

Can comfirm this IS soloable

I stepped on one rune and nothing happened then i walked off and steped on the second and boom it worked.

Now i did this as a hunter and i used my hunter pet to stay on one rune then i moved off one rune to the other and it spawned.

I had WM off btw if that does affect it

EDIT*** Actually you only need to step on 2 of the runes to summon the boss and you can move on one and then move to the other to summon i know this cause i tried it again on a alt (Once again i never had WM on so i cant say if that affects it or not)

As of today (december 6th, 2018) you can solo summon him! Two things:
- Turn wamode OFF!
- Get on your month and run from the RIGHT to TOP rune;
- Profit.

I was just able to solo summon this guy as of 12-30-18.

I stood on the left rune, ran to the right rune, and then jumped to the middle rune and the boss appeared. (All while mounted)

Mages can solo summon! Must be spec'ed into shimmer (two blinks), and must have good aim with your blink. Took me a couple of tries. Stand on one rune make sure you have the buff then just face the middle rune and it's the perfect distance should blink you directly over the middle of the rune. Quickly turn to blink again to the last rune and done. Doomcaster summoned!

I have been able to consistently summon him by doing the following:

1. Sign into my hunter alt, stand on one rune and place the pet on one of the other runes.
2. Force WoW to close. This will keep my alt signed in for 30 seconds or so.
3. Immediately relaunch WoW and sign back in on my main.
4. Run over all three runes while mounted up (and my alt is still standing on two of them).
5. Doomcaster Suprax spawns.

Hopefully this helps someone.

The trick others have talked about worked for me today. I ran up and hit every glyph on my mount immediately from right to left and the rare spawned without needing three people. Yesterday it didn't work, but I also didn't ride up and jump on the glyphs immediately so I'm not sure if there is any real pattern to how you approach the encounter area. Someone else walked up after I had killed the mob so I waited for the glyphs to respawn, rode over them again the exact same way, and it once again summoned the rare.

Worked after war-mode was turned off. Had a friend run from the left one to the middle while I stood on the right. Also kicked him from party before we summoned so try in/out of a party.

As per 23rd of Feb 2020, the only way to summon this elite solo is to switch the WM off. I tried many times running anticlockwise on my mount but nothing was happening. Then I read about the war mode and when I switched it off it worked like a charm. I just had to step on one rune. I will test this further and let you know if anything changes.

As a Rogue I was able to summon him solo by using a turnip punching bag on one rune and shadow stepping to it from another rune! I had neverending chest or something on the 3rd but I don't think that actually helped.

I just solo summoned this guy tonight during the Covid-19 quarantine! I stepped on western rune and he instantly appeared. I almost paid a couple guildies 2k gold each to come and help me! glad I was able to save some coin. Happy 420 everyone :)

Yes you can solo this mob. I just did it with my level 120 Demon Slayer. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I first mounted up, then starting with the right rune I ran over all three of them. Doomcaster Suprax spawned, I killed him, I got credit toward the achievement, end of story.

He can definitely be summoned solo. I've been able to do it all of BFA by running over each of the three runes. It does not matter if I'm on a mount or not (druid travel form worked too). I have done this solo with my druid, mage, and warrior.

The only special thing I do is stop for a few seconds on each rune. He sometimes appears after the 1st rune, sometimes the 2nd, sometimes the 3rd - but he always spawns by the time I've stopped at the 3rd rune. If the 3 little runes are up, he will spawn.

Some of my findings:

Yes, you CAN summon him solo, however it seems more or less random if he will spawn.
War mode doesn't make a difference, you can solo summon him on both (if you're lucky at least) - therefore, changing WM gives you another chance
it is character dependent - this means, sometimes I can't summon him on char A, but instantly summon him on char B (both with, say, WM off)
it seems to be random which of the three runes triggers him
if you checked all runes without success, you're out of luck - no point in taking more rounds to be lucky eventually, trust me, I tried it

edit: there seems to be more about it. Today, I was able to summon Suprax with ALL my chars, always by stepping on the right rune. (Of course I still didn't get the toy, 19 tries now)

(War Mode off) I tried mounting and running over all the runes myself, but that didn't work. Then I asked a couple guildies to come help, and the first guildie who arrived went and stood on a rune right away, so I went and stood on another rune, and Suprax spawned almost the instant I touched the second rune. So worst case, you only need to find one other person to help instead of two.

The quest tracking ID for Doomcaster Suprax is 48968.

You can use this to alter the macro created by them222 which can be found in the comment sections of most Argus rares here on wowhead:

The boss can be reliably solo summoned. Here are my findings:
- Only the middle rune works
- Respawn is 5 minutes

EDIT2: It started working again on chars where it was not working before. I wonder if someone has to do it the "correct" way with 3 ppl before it works solo

Ok, I think I've managed to find out how to consistently summon him by yourself (without needing pets, or toys or wtv).

1) Stand on one the runes, make sure you have the debuff and log out.

2) Log back in, then stand on another rune, check you have the debuff and log out.

3) Log back in, move to the last rune and he should show up.

I believe by logging out while standing on a rune, you let the trigger on. Even if when you log back in you move.

This seems to persist even through respawns of the runes. As after the initial summon, I was able to do this with other characters by standing solely on the last rune once they showed up again.

If you did it with WM on, then it will only work with WM on and vice versa. I had to do it all again with a character that had WM off.

It seems like the "two runes count as active" lasts quite a bit, and it doesn't reset after the Daily Quest reset. However it does reset/expire at some point.

I did this yesterday an hour before daily quest reset and it worked. I could still do it by standing on that last rune after the reset. However when I tried this morning, an hour before the reset, I was unable to summon him by just standing on that rune again. I had to do the log in and out again in order to summon him.

This explains why a lot of people give different runes for when it worked, or that it only works with WM on or off, and why it only seemed to work some times. My guess is that they either inadvertently logged out while standing on the runes (particularly if you attempted this with multiple alts) while attempting to get it to spawn, or that someone else on your server already did so and you stood on the last rune.

As of 11/30/2020, you can two-man this if your computer's loading times are fast.

Get a friend, have them stand on one rune. Take your character, stand them on the other rune. Log out of your current character (still standing on the rune) and log into a secondary character who - if you haven't figured out yet, should be standing on the third rune. You want to be as quick as possible when logging so do whatever you can to cut your loading times down (turn off mogs, graphics set to low, etc.)

If done right, this should summon Suprax the moment your "third person" signs in, and then you and your buddy should be able to take him down no problem!

I was able to summon him solo twice using the same method (first on my mage, later on my druid).
All you need is a teleport ability (either Blink or Soulshape, Demonic Circle: Teleport, Heroic Leap, Roll, Fel Rush might work as well but I didn't try).
(I tried sprinting and riding over them as suggested by others before but that didn't work)

When facing north, step onto the right-most rune and quickly teleport / blink onto the one in the center.
For me that was enough to summon the rare. I didn't have to touch the third rune.

Shadowlands 'cheat' we used yesterday - Works with two people where one has the Venthyr covenant trait Door of Shadows, use that to hop from one rune to another and Bob's your uncle!

Paladin on Shadowlands 9.0.5 here. I soloed this by standing on one rune, logged out, loaded straight back in on the same toon, and then used Divine Steed as soon as the world loaded and touched a second rune. This took a few tries but if you're fast enough, it is possible.

3 of my characters who can get to Argus can summon this guy alone by just standing on the left rune (when approaching the platform) but my rogue for some reason is never able to summon him. What's going on here?

After my first comment I got 2 more characters to Argus who were also able to summon alone, but a day later the rune I had to stand on changed from the left side to the one on the right. I got the toy after 29 attempts and my rogue was never once able to summon the boss. All I can guess is it has something to do with him being on a different server, but I'm still stumped.

Left my Demon Hunter and Hunter on two runes, logged into my Mage and stepped on the last rune and was able to summon him. Might not work for everyone but I'm glad I have this rare out my way.

Managed to solo summon him during shadowlands with a warrior by using heroic leap from one rune to the second one and door of shadows "venthyr ability" from the second to the third rune.

As of 9.2.7 patch, you only need to walk on one rune to make him pop. The rune on which you have to walk seems to change everyday.

For warlocks, stand in one of the runes, move your pet to one of the runes, then put down a demonic gateway to the last rune, just click the portal, it will be summoned.

As a warlock in prepatch an the covenant ability disabled outside of shadowlands you can:
- Rune A: Put your Demonic Circle
- Rune B: Stand in this rune and put your Demonic Gateway to Rune C
- Rune C: End of your Demonic Gateway.

Then. Use Demonic Gateway from Rune B to go to Rune C and inmediately on the other side use your Demonic Circle: Teleport to move to Rune A.

That was the only way to summon this Rare.

Can Confirm that in the year 2023 on Jan 19th, this is totally capable of being summoned solo'd. No need to log out and log back in. Mount up first and start on the Rune on the East Side and go Counterclockwise. Just to be sure don't touch the runes until you're mounted and ready to go. Once you've touched all 3 it will summon.

I did this as a Ret Paladin. Likely thanks to Crusader Aura I did it but should be capable of doing without as well.

As of 10.0.5 it spawns just by hitting one rune, so it's now solo-summonable. I'll test over the next few days to confirm (since I still need the toy anyway).

As of 07/05/2023 - this is what worked for me (Warmode off):

Stand on one rune, log off, log in.

Move to next rune, log off, log in.

Move to next rune - summoned.

Enjoy.

Just walked right up to the runes, walked on each one going counterclockwise, stopping for one second on each rune and it summoned right away.

7/31/23 Got on my mount and ran clockwise in a circle on the runes (purple stuff). Didn't even do one full circle and he popped up and dropped the toy. Might just be lucky but it was easy peasy.

Judging by the comments (and my own experience), summoning this guy solo is completely possible, but it's a matter of chance / RNG.

He spawned for me twice just now when I simply stood on the left rune - once after I'd stepped on the other two, once just by touching on the left one.
Last week I tried something similar but he didn't appear at all.

I guess the surest way to do it is to bring two more people, but it can't hurt stepping on some random runes every time you pass him by solo. You might get lucky!

I just summoned him by going counter clockwise on my mount, just waiting for the debuff each time. There was no delay in him spawning.
