Potential Trojan Account Threat, LFR, Flex, and the Group Finder in WoD
It's been slow over the holidays for Blizzard posts, but today we've got a discussion on LFR, Flex, and the new Group Finder tool in Warlords of Draenor. Many players dissatisfied by the impersonal and unchallenging aspects of LFR have since embraced Flex, which allows them to have meaningful progression with friends on a busy schedule.
Due to the success of Flex raiding, Blizzard is implementing a new Group Finder tool in Warlords of Draenor so people can find cross-realm groups for pretty much everything. The addition of the Group Finder tool may even lead to some LFR tuning changes--since raiders on a busy schedule will be drawn towards the Group Finder instead of LFR.
Edit: Blizzard Customer Support just posted an alert about a
Trojan virus that can compromise accounts even with an authenticator
. So far there is no easy way to remove it besides reformatting your system, but Blizzard has posted instructions on what to do if your account has been recently compromised.

Flex Mode Scaling Changes, Talk Azeroth Episode 20
Talk Azeroth Episode 20: Gearing in Warlords of Draenor
Olivia dives deep into the gear changes coming in Warlords of Draenor and dissects the implications of all the new systems -- long tail gearing, shifting primary stats, spirit as a secondary stat, loot drama and much more as well as hitting your viewer questions from last week's Garrison episode. If you want to get in touch with Olivia, email her on email@example.com
Flex Mode Scaling Changes
At BlizzCon, we'd discussed some improvements to our Flexible scaling system that would minimize the existence and impact of any real or perceived "breakpoints." Our design goal has always been for the system to be neutral with respect to group size. Specifically, you should never feel encouraged to turn away interested players whose skill/gear level matches the rest of the group's, basic role composition constraints notwithstanding. But at the same time, you shouldn't feel like you need to go out and grab warm bodies if you have a perfectly serviceable raid already assembled. Clearly we have not yet fully realized those goals.

Battle Pet Hotfixes and Talk Azeroth: Flex Raiding
This week Olivia takes us through some of the recent forum complaints about LFR and Flex. Is it too easy? Too hard? Or have we just totally forgotten what it's like in new tiers? And is Flex taking away all the good raiders?
She also gets into your viewer questions, dealing with last week's responses to the Censer of Eternal Agony, and its issues with PvP flagging on PvE servers. Lastly she dives into the complete farce that has been the start of season 14, with the conquest vendors being up and down like your average yo-yo, the gear issues and the impact on rating.
Battle Pet Hotfixes
We have a few hotfixes to share with you and these changes should be in game now, or will take effect once the realms have been restarted:
are no longer Bind on Pickup; they can now be caged and you can collect up to 3 of each.
spell is now a one-round ability. The tooltip still erroneously states that it is a two-round ability which we plan to correct at a later date.
ability now has an eight-ro
