Children's Week 2016 Guide (May 2 - May 9)
Children's Week
is a week in which we brave a challenge greater than any undead monstrosity and a task more daunting than saving the world. We must become parents for all those orphans throughout Azeroth and make sure they are happy. We can't tank a child's fears, we can't heal its memories of pain, nor can we DPS the sorrow out of them. So equip your toys, make a mage conjure a candy table, fill your quiver with joy, load your gun with something colorful, and venture into the World of Parenting!
Children's Week
begins on
May 2nd
at
11:01 AM
and ends on
May 9th
at
11:00 AM
.
Due to the advent of Cataclysm,
Children's Week
was changed in 2011 to have two new pets and redone locations for the initial tier of quests. In 2015,
Green Balloon
is a toy that counts towards your Toy Box. In 2016,
Yellow Balloon
also counts towards your Toy Box.
If you already have all the pets, be sure to pick up
Pet Care Package
--the reward for repeating the holiday, even if you can't get any pets!
Pet Care Package
is new to 2015 and contains a variety of items including pug costumes like
Big Pink Bow
,
Magical Pet Biscuit
, and
Flawless Battle-Stone
. This is an alternative reward from the orphan quests and great if you already have the pets!
2016 Lunar Festival Guide (February 1st - 15th)
2016's Lunar Festival starts on
February 1
and ends on
February 15
. The
Lunar Festival
is held every year starting on a date that typically coincides with the Chinese New Year.
Ancestors of Azeroth are praised and honored by both Horde and Alliance, who then reward players with a special title,
Elder <Name>
, a celebration in Moonglade, and numerous
Coin of Ancestry
that can be used to purchase festive garb, patterns and fireworks!
This guide covers all the items you can buy, achievements, and locations of all the elders!
2015 added several updates:
Elune's Lantern
from
Elune's Blessing
is now a toy, and there are two Firework toys for sale,
Everlasting Alliance Firework
and
Everlasting Horde Firework
:
They were previously only available for one week before Mists of Pandaria launched as part of the Theramore scenario--great to see them return!
They cost 25
Coin of Ancestry
each, and learning one automatically teaches you the toy for the opposite faction.
Learn how to
track your Toy Box collection on Wowhead
.
For pet lovers, there's the
Perky Blaster
--give your
Perky Pug
a firework!
Engineers get three new firework schematics:
Schematic: Alliance Firework
,
Schematic: Horde Firework
, and
Schematic: Snake Firework
. These require 500 skill.
Vendors sell
Ancient Heirloom Armor Casing
for 40
Coin of Ancestry
and
Timeworn Heirloom Armor Casing
for 75
Coin of Ancestry
.

League of Explorers - Heroic Hall of Explorers Guide
The final wing has arrived! With it comes four new bosses that you're going to need to take down and these ones won't go down without a fight.
Hall of Explorers Heroic Guide
has stolen the Staff of Origination! He's using it to animate various exhibits around the museum in an attempt to stop you. We must first get through them before we can finally wage battle and end this conflict for good.
This former T-Rex sports 15 armor and 30 health which gives him a free in the form of his hero power, . This of course means that even if you play the match to a T, you'll need RNG to be in your favor. That is unless you want to end up like us who have to deal with these shenanigans.

League of Explorers - The Ruined City Heroic Guide
If you've managed to beat all of the Heroic encounters thus far, congratulations. From here on out it's likely that things only get more difficult. With no equivalent to Temple Escape or Mine Cart Rush, you actually have to take down all three bosses with your own decks.
The Ruined City Heroic Guide
has been captured in the Stranglethorn Jungle and needs saving! After doing so we can refocus our efforts back onto the final piece of the Staff of Origination.
As per usual, Slitherspear gets 15 armor on top of his normal 30 health. There's no Finley to save despite his hero power being and he will never switch over to his enrage. Each progressive Hungry Naga summoned gains +1/+1 so on Turn 5 summons a buffed 5/5 minion.

League of Explorers - Heroic Uldaman Guide
It's well known that the Heroic versions of Hearthstone's adventures pose a problem to many players, hardcore and casual alike. Heck, some of us never even completed Blackrock Mountain's wings on the highest difficulty. That said, we're here to provide you with some decklists, tips, tricks, and warn you about some things each of the bosses will throw your way. If you're interested in playing them without any outside knowledge, now would be the time to stop reading.
Uldaman Heroic Guide
This week our efforts are headed up by Brann Bronzebeard, brother to our Warrior friend Magni Bronzebeard. This week's encounters have us dealing with some troublesome troggs, surviving on a speeding mine cart, and dealing with some animated statues.
Scarvash starts the fight with 30 Health and 15 Armor but he also has a and a on the field. On the first turn his hero power makes minions cost 11 mana, making them
unplayable. This alternates every other turn meaning on odd turns you can only cast spells
and on even you can only cast minions.

Demon Hunter Crest Art, Darkmoon Faire In Town and Charts (September 6th - 13th)
Demon Hunter Crest Art
Chris Robinson
, Senior Art Director at Blizzard Entertainment, is
attending THU2015
--"Burning Man Meets TED" for artists. Their
Facebook
recently announced that he'll be one of the panel speakers and uploaded some of his art for Blizzard--gryphons, dwarves, pandaren. One piece really stood out that we haven't seen before.
On the
Facebook page
as well as the
artist page on the website
, an image has been uploaded which looks like a possible
Demon Hunter
crest, the new class in
Legion
. Several years ago, there was a series of crests made for all other classes, which we use on our
class hub pages
.
We do not know how and when this artwork will be used in the future
but it looks awesome so we figured we'd share it!
The
Darkmoon Faire
is back in town and runs from
September 6th - 13th
.
There is one new toy sold at the Faire in 6.2.2:

Childlike Wonder

The Darkmoon Faire is a great place for collectors, and with the addition of the
Darkmoon Seesaw

19 Battle Pets
,
16 Toys
, and
2 Mounts
. Check out our full post more more information on the Faire and charts as to which items most Wowhead users have collected.
