When Arthas struck me down, Frostmourne shattered my soul. But it was not divided into one part that was noble and another that was cruel.

Rather, it was as if a portion of my consciousness remained frozen in time while the rest of my soul carried on.

To feel that missing fragment restored... well, it has caused me to reflect upon many of the choices I have made.

Gilneas' attack was planned by garrosh. Sylvanas had a perfect alibi. She was dead already and visiting the maw. Liam's murder and genn's attempt of murder are both the same thing. My only problem is because it was only in a book before they did basically all of the current story arc most players never had that context so this comes across like a retcon.

Also BFA felt like they were changing the story arc for her until Shadowlands seems to be wrenching it back on the original path. He's literally saying he's getting a better look at his actions, as if a younger self is judging him. He was still in control when he made them, implying that Sylvanas is the same and was fully aware and in control of what she did since being freed from the Lich King's control.Comment by k0thelis1Once again Blizzard's concerning trend of genocide apologism rears its head, with a nice, healthy dose of removing agency from characters who were previously established as being fully in control of their faculties and simply being awful people as a result of the hand they'd been dealt, y'know, for seasoning.

Sylvanas reflection arc confirmed. Sylvanas and Uther had no agency.

Also anyone saying that this was ever hinted at can stop. It never was and never has been. This stupid arc for Sylvanas began in Legion. That's a noble goal that we have forsaken her for.

Because we abandoned her, she was left with very few choices of allies. She made a bad choice in choosing The Jailer, who basically lied to her.

You must remember that Sylvanas's goal is to eliminate death. The Jailer has revealed that he is going to cause more deaths, which is opposite to Sylvanas's goal. This is why Sylvanas now appears to have converted to our side, but that really is only because her goal and our goal appear to align right now.

This is by no means redemption. It's a temporary truce to fight against The Jailer.

It's actually very easy to understand if you believe in her.

Her "crimes" will be moot if death is eliminated. The souls from Teldrassil that were sent to the Maw would be released, and go to Ardenweald to be reborn (or whatever). People only hate her because they are stuck in the set of morals of our real world, with no understanding of the underlying reasons about how our current set of morals came to be.

Death is only an issue in real life because it is the end. Death is not an issue at all in the Warcraft universe.
