Hmmm...these changes look good on paper - but the key question will be tuning (as always) - how easy will this be get the "stars" required to unlock the next layer? If players are forced into mutliple runs to unlock the higher layers 9-12 (which keep in mind is required to get the new Soul Cinder Legendary Currency to upgrade legendaries to levels 5 and 6) - there will be a LOT of back lash. They HAVE to get the tuning right - if its too hard and a large section of the player base can't get their upgraded legendaries - this will have a knock on effect on raiding and M+ and PVP...all sorts of areas. Looks good on concept - but Blizz haven't exactly been known for getting the tuning of things right - if anything that's where blizz almost ALWAYS fall well short of acceptable standards...so...very concerned is my reaction to this given legendary upgrades are tied directly into this new Torghast system to unlock higher layers and thus the new currency.
Still there is no point in going there except ash.
More hassle for same bad rewards. Great.
Killing the floor 5 boss should be the ONLY requirement to unlock the next layer. Sure, fine, add all that speedrun/killstreak stuff, but doing well at that should only increase whatever the base reward is for killing the floor 5 boss and unlocking the next layer.
This all would be fine for TC, if they added more rewards to make it worth doing. For normal wings, they're just boring, and somehow both too short, and too damn long for bugger all. You get 6 (now 7?) floors to power up, but then use it on a 10s boss and done, then start again? Why... make it 12 floors and all ash/cinders in one. Sorted. with the option to split in 2 for time short people. The rest of it can bugger off to TC, or some other "challenge mode" for people who actually enjoy this content. Personally, I don't, I don't like Diablo, nor roguelikes, I want WoW, not this forced bull@#$% each week.
Definitely won't be going back there after the revised version hits.
"run as fast as possible" ..... Torghast is dead feature for me.as I want to relax by playing games, not another stress after work. The entire Maw concept and mechanics ruined what could have been the best expansion after years.
So this is just another version of m+ now?
I'm still puzzled as to the point of doing all this.Like... the mage tower offered awesome looking transmogs. So that was a goal. This? More soul ash and an achievement. Is that really enough?
Shadowlands just keeps getting worse. Once more, I'll stop running this garbage content post-max ilvl leggo.
so for players like me that skip a bunch of the nonsense on each floor and still like the idea of no time metric, this kinda sux. i guess ill have to see what its like once it goes live.
why.....
Does it still take 45+ minutes with basically no rewards? Cool.
And in typical Blizzard fashion, the shiny new thing gets remarkably better with age - and you can't help but wonder to yourself, "Gee, as much as I like this, maybe it should have been this way all along?"
I $%^&ing hate anything with a timer on it. Mythic + is bad enough with timers. Half the time, I alt-tab during Torghast runs. I can't be bothered doing it 'timed' or some bull$%^& like that.
dead feature
Ion said you will be able to complete torghast the same way you do now, the scorestreak will just be cool to watch the bar fill, and the gems are a way for you to actually fail since the terragrue is no longer in torgahst, if you’re not dying in torghast now you wont die with the changes either, there are also more rewards said to be coming, its still ptr after all
If any one interested... After some runs on PTR results...Actually it says right click to view points destribution (but you have to left click and you will see) How they are calculated for now 01 May 2021 (subject to change during PTR)1) Completion % - 1 point per % (max possible 100 points) => so you get points for clearing all mobs and ect.2) Time Taken vs Par Time => for 2 runs i had both runs 50 points with (layer 8 mostly skipping 483 seconds vs par timer 1340; layer 9 873 seconds vs par timer 2030)3) Time % spend Hot Streak: 1 point per 2% => In my runs i had 82% => 42 points (i think this is time you was Empowered, above X on hot steack)So conclusions1) Bad time for stealth runners most part of points comes for full Completion (so skipping everything you will end up with low points)2) Par Time for clearing looks good (20 min for layer 8, 30 min for layer 9) => at least for my Feral Druid i usually clear them closer to 12-16 minutes => you have to hurry becasuse you have not just kill last boss but clear everycorner of every level within that Par Time3) Empowered % ask you to chain pull (there are talents that reduce it's falling that will make it easier to sustain), but if you making 100% clear within Par Timer => you will most likely have decent % on this one (Empower buffs your Movement Speed% and Haste%, helping to maintain this chain pulling) 4) At start of levels Hot Streak is grayed out and frozen (may be Time Taken too, so if you need to afk you can make it at start of any level)p.s. i don't know, but may be there is lower Par Time for stealth running that gives more points to compensate skiping everything (but from my sleath run it's less than 8 minues for layer 8)
So, not only do you need to clear all 6 floors for the Layer, but they're introducing SCORING? So, you could beat all 6 floors, but not reach the magical score and you have to keep running it until you do? THAT is nothing but a system that REEKS of them creating "Torghast Tower Invitational" for a new "tournament".This absolutely reeks of them pushing e-sports into more and more content.
