That is such a great idea, whether it has future ramifications or not. Now we need class trainers to form some kind of club too to stay relevant.keep it up blizz :D(and thanks for the tank evoker in 10.1!)
why not have the transmog NPC's, be able to transmog the illusion of a mount over your dragon, and the illusion breaks when using dragon riding skills, but returns after 1second of idlenes, with a small poof animation - kinda like evoker visage form, but for mounts
I think in one of the interviews Ion or whoever it was says that he cannot see a future without "Dragonriding" after DF, but yes.. im not affected by it, but if some people would rather fly the old mounts even in new zones, let them.
I would imagine that after awhile, we'll get the option to "turn on/off" dragonriding. Turning it on would make all our flying mounts (with some exceptions) go into dragonriding mode, while turning it off reverts to og flight with the only dragonriding ones staying being the quest gimmes like the highland drake.
oh cool.
I hope this means dragonriding makes its way into old content, or maybe they've got some bigger plans like another old world revamp somehow.
As cool as this is, I hope they expand it. Not only make it more precise, carry it over because regular flying feels boring.
I think if they add a "Hover" ability to dragonriding, the naysayers will stop whining about it.Already Blizz is planning on adding a "Brake" to slow us down when we want precision landing or flying, and they intend to let us gain vigor while low to the ground for those of us that want to fly slower or need to fly slower due to some medical issue or other.Dragonriding is here to stay. Now if they'll just add some combat abilities to it, like dragon breath as a primary attack and dismounting riders by grabbing them. The PvPers would love that #$%^.
Fine. If Dragonriding is enabled in legacy content, at least give us the option of continuing to use regular flight. Those flashy dragon mounts handle like mattresses.
I'd like to see them start rigging the animations over for the existing Proto-drake, pterodactyl, Wyvern, and Drake mounts. Ahead of expanding DragonRiding to everywhere else. The animations exist, the skeletons are approximately the same. It's just a matter of sending a QA team through testing. Sure we might see the occasional weird clipping, no one cares.Edit: Huge missed opportunity not swapping the pterodactyl option for a more Gryphon like option. Then they could just translate the animations over to all the default gryphons.
Learning to dragon ride or teaching our mounts to be lazy? Not looking forward to having my perfectly capable older mounts suddenly forget how to fly unless I remind them to flap their wings. I'd rather them be ready to let us OG fly as opposed to them being there so flight gets ruined permanently.Would largely prefer old flight back.Edit; props to my guy a few posts up mentioning how terrible the dragon riding mounts handle. They can't bank at all, or do immediate 180s like the older mounts. Dragon riding feels lousy.
Dragon flying in all of Azeroth? I approve of this message!
I love dragonriding, but I'm sympathetic to the folks who want/need an alternative that doesn't work like an arcade game. Maybe they can make the flight on the other mounts into a toggle that players can set by visiting a flight trainer.
