We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve your experience playing Hearthstone, and will be making a change to the Tavern Brawl release schedule to help achieve that goal. In order to provide better monitoring capabilities, increase our response time for any issues that sneak by, and minimize service impact to all our players across the world, the Tavern Brawl release schedule has been adjusted to the following:

Americas: Wed 9:00 AM PST
China: Wed 1:00 PM PST (Thu 5:00 AM CST)
Korea/Taiwan: Wed 1:00 PM PST (Thu 6:00 AM KST)
Europe: Wed 1:00 PM PST (Wed 10:00 PM CET)

Get ready to deck the brawls on December 16^th, when the Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl arrives! In the all-new Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl, Greatfather Winter will be dropping presents onto the snowy streets of Stormwind. Smash open the presents to get to the surprise inside—a 1-mana card that Discovers a card of your opponent’s class. You’ll get a gift each time you break open your opponent's present . . . or you can be a real grinch and bash open a present on your side of the board to Discover a card of your own class!

Brawl should be a way to do something completely different than regular HS play, not the exact same with a minor, minor gimmick. This is on par with the Banana Brawl.Comment by SquishalotIt actually opens up a range of different strategic decisions. Couple of examples:

Using removal spells like Shadowbolt, Soulfire, Lava Shock on your own box to pick up good value treasures

Do you remove your box or your opponent's box?

New removal order - do you take out the box, or do you trade minions?

Combinations across classes

Comment by Thrombin2Use removal on your box if it looks like your opponent will take it next turn. It's easier for him to remove your boxes than his own.

Taking out the box is generally higher priority than trading. You get amazing value from the gift and you also deny the box to your opponent.Comment by SquishalotAgreed to both. People say that playing Warlock is ideal - so many removal options. Twisting Nether is amazing as a simultaneous board clear and tempo swing by taking both boxes. Corruption also works quite well as it guarantees a box steal if your opponent can't remove their own box. Power Overwhelming triggers at the end of your turn, so you get your own box, and a new one doesn't respawn for your opponent's turn.

But likewise, playing against a Warlock is also good, because it's easier to take your opponent's box, so you get all the cheap removal spells too.Comment by Thrombin2Warlock certainly does well in this. Miss two or more crate kills relative to your opponent and watch as the game spirals out of control.
