I don't think they will take that much time for 9.2 but february doesn't sound to me like a date for any new expansion neither. Let's remember that having 4 lfr wings, it will take them at least 2 months to release the full patch, and usually after that, there is a similar or more likely superior amount of time until the next patch. They would need to rush both 9.1 and 9.2, and surely even skip the prepatch. I don't see them doing such a thing.

PS: about the 9.1 release date... do you remember how they usually confirm it just one week before? It wouldn't be the first time they do that, just the first one with this much of a catch upComment by VitaemoraReading wowhead articles + comments is literally my favorite type of comedy.

Blizzcon 2021 is cancled which is normally when the book gets released. Instead there is another Blizzcon-online in february 2022... which is when the book releases. This is called logic.

Lord of the Clans and Rise of the Lich King are good books. I've had no desire to read a WoW book or really much interest at all in the current story since WoD. The Illidan novel was made to make Illidan like "pffff whatever, all of you guys are just too dumb to realize my master plan...which I didn't bother to tell any of you. Pfff, whatever, the army of blood elves and naga and draenei that were super important to me in WC3? Lawl, 20 demon hunters are better, I don't care at all about that army. If its anything like the Illidan novel, it'll be a fun little tryst that justifies any and all of the main characters flaws, paints them as misunderstood and put upon, and that everyone else is evil for not understanding their noble goals or for "getting it."

Because that's what Blizzard, increasingly, has turned into nowadays: schlocky, teenage-grade writing, where no-one (relevant) to the story can simply be a villain: they have to be 'corrupted' or 'mad' or just plain 'misunderstood.' From the retconning of Illidan's flaws to the (massive) sanding down of more prickly, grey characters such as Greymane, no-one is permitted any depth any more: only basic, meaningless tropes and 'square peg in round hole' attempts to make them fit the story. Or, in the case of Sylvanas, make the story fit them. The fact they are still going down the route of trying to turn her into some kind of Kerrigan-esque antihero, despite a list of actions longer than the Path of Glory that showcase her utter depravity and evil, is especially egregious not just to people who dislike her to begin with, but is especially galling to those who liked the character as she was written before: someone who was ultimately pragmatic, and could be vicious, but at her heart whom cared for her people and prized free will above all else due to her own experiences.

Instead we now have a one-dimensional, baby-eating, moustache-twirling Sunday morning cartoon that Blizzard are attempting to dress up as a flawed ubermensch archtype, and doing it extremely badly. It's genuinely sad to see: almost as sad as them throwing Kel'thuzad and Kael'thas under the bus as they have.
