pretty much confirmation that Blizzard wants DKs to only be Necrolord rather than allow players to pick the covenant of their choice.
This is why we can't have new features and fun in WoW, something gets added for lore reasons and all these people start ranting about Blizzard only wanting DKs to be necrolord.How often do you use the runeforge? Exactly, you don't use it too often. You can just create a portal to a place where there are runeforges, but hey, this is Blizzard wanting all DKs to join the Necrolords, I'm sure the non-Necrolord DKs are already changing because of this "buff". No, this is lore, bloody hell the main quest of Maldraxxus is about putting runes on a sword to open the gate of the Seat of the Primus.Can't you just admit that this is a feature that is not gamechanging for any covenant? This is just lore.Yes, covenants are a pain in the ass if you want "x" covenant for raid "y" for m+ or "z" for pvp and this should be addressed, but adding a runeforge on a sanctum is not even important. If you want to change your covenant to save maybe 30 seconds whenever you get a new weapon, go ahead.If you want to keep ranting about these features, let's make a list of useless things to change:Runeforges for every sanctum.Make all sanctums the same, so we don't lose more time running around in different sanctums.Give everyone the night fae ability to run in their sanctum, because obviously night fae have an advantage./sHave a nice day everyone, and thanks Blizzard for adding small features like this.

A little bit confusing because for now because while everything points out that the runecarver/Primus indeed designed the runeblade and the helm (and we have another blade with runes in Maldraxxus' story), the especific power imbued on Frostmourne/Helm of Dominion came from The Maw itself.Which would correctly imply that he only designed the vessel for it and Maldraxxus itself would not have the associated powers of DKs (Maw). But then a runeforge is more like a device that accepts any kind of power that work with runes and the user just need to have it (like DKs), so, no need to be in a place surrounded by the power you want to use for your runes like The Maw.But that would mean that DKs could bring runeforges to the other covenants...
While I think it cool thematically that they added this, it still surprises me that we've yet to see any sign of runesword mogs ever being added this expansion. Had figured we would have at least a couple new weapons with em!
Not all factions are created equal, they should be doing more small things like this in each faction so that it creates more reasons to chose a faction rather than chose what does the most damage.
So once we rescue the runecarver/Primus from Torghast, maybe only Necrolords will have access to making legendary items? hahaI think adding the runeforge is a great thematic and logical addition.
People really get mad over this, as a Necro DK I know I'm still gonna use my gate anyway, the covenant hall isn't just easily accessible all the time

Besides that, the runecarver is too big to go through the DOOR of the Seat of the Primus.Though, if the Primus is an Eternal One like Kyrestia, Denathrius, Zovaal and thee Winter Queen, he's probably giant too, so the door wouldn't make sense anyways lol.
