I thought Mechagon was going to be added to the M+ pool in season 4 as well? Or at least I thought I read that somewhere...can anybody give me a yes or no answer?I know mechagon is getting a heroic variant, but is it getting a M+ one as well?
There should be no fail buff at all. period. It makes no sense. If you can't at least complete the key, you shouldn't anyway. Being buffed to complete it doesn't solve any problems. That said, the new system makes no sense. Nothing is of value below 10, especially given the removal of TF.. Zero upgrade potential, which will itself kill the pool of people applying to lower keys as the season draws on. 11s are pointless to do themselves, as is anything higher than 12 unless you want mythic gear. Why do an 11 if 10 gives identical gear? Why do 13/14 if 12s give the same gear? YOu are better off always doing a 10 to push it up through multi-chesting. If they just join a 10 they can get the same reward as an 11, but have an easier time pushing it to 12. Then do the 12 and get identical loot as keys 2 difficulties higher lol. Total lack of incentive to do anything but the lowest key in a bracket. Too risky with no better reward. This whole scale is illogical and blizzard can't plan for crap. I can see this coming a mile away. All so we can have 5 additional ilevels at the highest end compared to season 3. Stupid idea and unnecessary to stretch the loot scale out like this as it will have terrible unintended consequences. Only like 10% of the population even completed a 10 across the board according worldofwargraphs, so few will even benefit from the increased ilevel max at the cost of making everything else relatively worse.Since I also have quite a few gems in 445 gear, it's better than pretty much anything I could get up to a 12, meaning the rewards are mostly useless from 10s anyway. Bags full of worthless 455 loot already.
What the point of depleted buff in low keys? Those are rarely getting depleted... I assume this is a bug. Also, as I predicted, M+ rewards are heavily nerfed. In S4 +10 will be much much harder to complete and will reward much worse loot (heroic raid ilvl instead of mythic ilvl).Yet alone +15 key that will be unaccesible to majority of player base (including those who were doing +10 weekly run for chest in previous seasons).Blizzard should have kept weekly chest cap at +10, but add that new loot scaling for end of dungeon chest for keys above 10... Proper S4 loot scaling should look like this imo: https://imgur.com/a/pHVCGbj
every keylevel higher increases the chance of one extra piece of loot. So If you are able to time a 14 instead of a 11/12, chances are high to get an item extra at the end of the dungeon (was 40% per lvl). And to quote yourself, if you cant time a key, you shouldnt anyway and dont need the max ilvl.
Is there any blue confirmation behind this whole post? As far as i remember the weekly cache should give s4 rewards on the week of the 21 basing on previous patches? I might be wrong but i thought on the 14th dungeon scaling would already change but rewards from end of dungeon would be capped to a lower IL until HC raid release. In other words, unless memory fails me, so far its been like this: week 1 of patch, new affix and scaling but capped rewards (i think they capped at +6 instead of +10 for 8.2) but when u get into HC week essentially the whole system unlocks and so the weekly chest should already be s4 then.
Why give a fail buff? It makes no difference for regular teams pushing high keys. But it makes a massive difference for pugs. The number of times we've had a good run up until a hard boss, wipe once and someone leaves. That Bob buff helps those flaky quitters stay on to complete the key. For gearing up and learning, that's a big difference. I agree with the others that the gear stretching looks a bit off. Yes you get rewarded above a 10, but the scaling appears off. The jump looks pretty big given no titanforging, perhaps I'll be proved wrong. End of legion I comfortably timed +15s as a curve player. but in 8.2 ot has been much harder. I guess we'll see whether I'm going to manage the same in 8.3, but I'm not convinced
having a blue post or better yet PATCH notes would be more helpful. While the guide is rather helpful it seems to be based on very little information that is out there and only on PTR results. I think until Blizz releases patch notes there is no OFFICIAL answer here.§
Honestly, I'm fine with Bob only appearing in low keys. You shouldn't be given a crutch to finish anything 10 or above. Perhaps you shouldn't be doing 10s if you need a buff to get through it.
I mean, +10 will not even be the cap next season, so if blizz sees fit to help the lower end of the playerbase in terms of giving them an easier time in 2-9 bracket, i see nothing wrong at all. i personally play around the 3k rio level, but most players i know who play to any degree of seriousness will push 15 anyways without major issues, even those who dont particularly care about M+. In other words, buff will help only those player struggling on the far lower end on the spectrum, and should really make no difference for anyone else, considering the gear u get from +9 keys will be a very long shot from the IL cap. For once, i think Blizz did a good thing with this one.
