Mythic+ Items Obtained Before Patch 9.0.5 Cannot Be Upgraded with Valor Points

Hello.

Please note that you will not be able to upgrade items that dropped before patch 9.0.5.

While we have technical reasons for this, we also want to avoid the feeling that you should go through months of item history and stuff your bags and your bank in preparation for this.

In-game, items that can be upgraded will be clearly labeled as such.

Otherwise, it’s going to be another three months of misery trying to get gear pieces you actually need.

As an example: I must have run Plaguefall around 30-40 times by now and the trinket I need for there has only dropped in my group once (three agi users) and has never dropped for me personally, I only have one because it was traded to me.

As someone mentioned, this is similar to the situation we had with applying corruption to old items in last BFA patch. Took a week or two for Blizzard to fix/change it that time.

I think the company makes a killing off WoW as shown in quarterly reports but not allowing us to use basically the same gear with no changes at all that we worked for just shows the player base is far from a priority.Comment by PanthraxI thought the valor system would be a nice fix but this just ruined it.

This would make sense in Legion or BfA but not in SL. We're not exactly swimming in loot. And that means they'll manage to make us run dungeons and raids a million times for gear in 9.0, then do it again in 9.0.5 and then do it again again because the ilvl will go up in 9.1.
It's amazing how time and time again they get this close to something great then completely mess it up.
