Mistweaver Monk Rising Mist Hotfix for April 28th

We've seen the emergence of a Mistweaver build that does a great amount of healing using Rising Mist, and we're working on a hotfix to address it.

When we buffed Rising Mist with the intention of making melee Mistweaver a viable playstyle, players discovered that stacking extreme amounts of haste and cooldown reduction can reach a breaking point of infinite duration on your heal-over-time effects. Even though it's exciting to see people discover new builds and interactions, the sheer power level in this case is likely to have a negative effect on the healing game for the remainder of Battle for Azeroth.

This change is intended to prevent the infinite extension, while allowing Rising Mist to still enable an effective melee playstyle.

Here is the change we're working on for the next scheduled weekly maintenance (April 28 in this region):

Rising Mist can now extend a heal-over-time effect by up to 100% of its original duration.

You can't actively extend to infinity anymore, but with massive haste you can still keep up a lot of hots by constantly bumping them back into their duration cap.Comment by KimoshiSo does this mean once Envelopming Mist has been extended by 6 seconds total it won't extend anymore and fall off? In fact, the way it should have been from the start. However, a lot of guilds have benefited from this current interaction to defeat bosses in the current raid tier. Why fix it now? why not let everyone benefit from it like so many have already done? This has been known about for a very long time, it should have been fixed the very week that it became prevalent and shut down. Here we are months after it being abused by most top guilds.Comment by Zortan4921even with this fix, enveloping still costs too much. if you will definitely need to re-cast alot of them with the time cap, it will still take too much mana to be viable.
